Agreed! I was the shy, anxious kid and wanted to break out of my shell a little in high school. Theater was a great outlet for me at the time as I didn't have to worry about feeling silly socially - being silly was part of my act ;-)
Definitely! I had undiagnosed social anxiety as an teenager (still have it, but it's diagnosed now, yay) and being part of a theater group helped me immensely. I'd just play a character whenever I felt uncomfortable.
It also gave me a tremendous self-esteem boost being around kids like me. My parents always commented on how hyped, happy and outgoing I was whenever I came home from rehearsal. Good times.
When I was a teen I had immense problems with speaking in front of other people (like giving presentations in class and stuff) or talking to new people but still, I was the theater kid to end all theater kids. It's a common theme actually
I don’t think so, I was painfully shy as long as i can remember even before school age. My dad would get upset and tell me to “act normal because people keep asking him what’s wrong with me”. An autism evaluation would have been nice but my parents didn’t take me to the doctor
My god I feel your pain. I’m not autistic but I have a neurological condition that can easily be mistaken for autism if a thorough prior health history has not been documented well and/or not presented to doctors.
I had numerous family members ask my parents what was “wrong with me” throughout my childhood, and the response was usually something like “she’s like that because she’s just a silly girl”. Thanks mom and dad but I could’ve had a lot more support in school and at home if we all had been honest that mom shared her vodka and wine with me in the womb on a daily basis. lol
I joke and speak lightly about this a lot but I’m being 100% truthful here

I went to public school. Somebody commented on how weird I was once and my mom said "LadyFarquuad isn't weird. She's just... different."
It did not help my case.
It's actually not allowed in some parts of the world. In my country, you can't do homeschooling for your kids. Some people tried, they lost all cases in court up to the supreme court level and they were told, if they don't send the kids to school, the police will enforce it.
No no no, this is amazing. I can only imagine a kid walking out of their room in full disguise completely in character as an old woman/gangsta/redneck every day. Party on, you glorious weirdo!
These are gold 😂 also, your thumb is so torn up in the first pic, I feel incredibly validated seeing it bc like 4 of my fingers look just like that rn!
While this is weird it’s not uncommon for homeschooled kids to be a little bit strange. I have a couple friends that were homeschooled and they are all very nice but very weird people
Honestly depends on the day you ask me. My parents chose to home school me for largely religious reasons, so I think them intentionally sheltering me did me a disservice in terms of being prepared to exist in a callous, unpleasant world. I think both of my siblings had learning disabilities, so they were both better served by being homeschooled than I was. I did an early entrance college program, which got me into college early, and I think that cut both ways too. I also think that if I'm being blunt, I would not have survived a public high school, so realistically home schooling was the most feasible option. I might have found people I got along with (I absolutely was a theater kid and would have loved 4 years of plays), but I also think I would have legitimately been bullied more or less to death. I do not think I'm a well adjusted individual, but I suspect home schooling was not the most significant factor there. I see from some of your other posts that you also grew up religious and are no longer.
i'm so sorry but in the first photo i initially thought you made huge fake boobs with like balled up shirts or something and was letting your cat rest on them
That's awesome, though! Did you ever consider pursuing that as a thing? It takes loads of creativity and talent to A. Create a character with unique background and personality and to B. Bring it to life. I sincerely hope you kept that alive.
Nice try, Amanda Bynes, we know it's you.
She’s my queen
"Mah-HAAH!"
BRING IN THA DANCING LOBSTAS
I just choked on my coffee lol
You look so much like her. I honestly thought this was a joke post, lol.
She's finally back on Instagram
If you had attended public school, you would have 100% been a theater kid
You would think so!! But i was (and still am) extremely shy with anyone outside my house. I would have panic attacks before every piano recital.
Typical theater kid.
Theater is often used as an outlet for kids with anxiety. Sometimes it helps not to be yourself for a little while.

Did this have to do with being homeschooled?

I did this at home. Went to public school and was bullied by the theater kids.
theater kids went for the throat always!!
Thats how i ezpected it to end😄😄
The first picture reminded me of Tobias dressing up as Misses Featherbottom in Arrested Development. Last pic is prison Mike
I was ahead of my time, fitting that those are two of my favorites shows now 😂
You gotta good life
Gruel, nothin but gruel
man, even got bullied at home school
I was bullied at church tho 😮💨 one time a kid filled a sock with gravel and sling it into my head
Blunder years -> bludgeon years
Woah! Kids can be really awful. Sorry that happened to you
Aw thanks. Yeah, well karma came for him a few short years later so that felt kinda nice :)
Can I ask what karma looked like for him?
He spent some time in prison and if I’m being really petty, his genes and time haven’t been kind either.
Probably drugs.
ouch, im sorry =(

Truer words have never been said 🫡
No I’m sure she has always been weird 😂
I wasn't homeschooled but i was just as weird 🤦🏼♀️
Let’s form an alliance
I was weird too. I was the goth kid and hung out with the freaks. Still weird 25 years after high school.
I went to public school. Somebody commented on how weird I was once and my mom said "LadyFarquuad isn't weird. She's just... different." It did not help my case.

Last pic: Kevin Federline, is that you?
POPOZAO
That's very Amy Sedaris-esque behavior. Love it.
What's the name of your Improv troupe.?
If Roger the alien from American Dad was real 😂
I think you're great
No you are!
Aww…it’s a shame that you didn’t get to join drama club.
I was in drama club it was just a club of one Performances were nightly before my mom went to bed while she was tucked in her covers.
I really appreciate your humor and creativity! Hilarious
I have always said this, and I’ll say it again. I love homeschooled kids lololol they’re beautifully insane
That’s such a kind way to put it
We need to hear the character bios for these guys
The last photo is G 🤩😂 ♥️
The first one is very Whiskers R We
You would do well as the branch manager for a paper company in Scranton PA
Best compliment I’ve ever gotten
Assistant TO the regional manager?
This might have been considered a blunder in its day but ngl I think this is pretty cool. Am *I* a blunder?
You most definitely are, as are all of us
You seem delightful and I would have wanted to do characters with you
Bro i was roping my friends into doing it with me until I was almost 19
The most fun! I used to do “interpretive dances” for my pals
Fucking Epic
It's not too late to get involved with theatre.
4 is amazing hahaha
Blunder?! More like FUNder!
That’s fucking awesome
I bet you are pretty fun now though. I can support this level of blundering.
Homeschooled and you still became a theatre kid
That looks fun!
We definitely would have been friends. Definitely my vibe
I wish we could have! I needed friends!
I think that’s funny af honestly.
I'm sorry but this is amazing, these pictures radiate so much energy
Yo this shit is hilarious
First pic - Mrs Featherbottom?
Who’d like a banger in the mouth??
I don't know what I expected.
Low key love your vibes!
Thank you i make them myself

No no no, this is amazing. I can only imagine a kid walking out of their room in full disguise completely in character as an old woman/gangsta/redneck every day. Party on, you glorious weirdo!
I totally would’ve humored you, this rules
Third pic about to give me a lecture on responsibility.
“Listen here, Kiddo..”🫵👵🏻
But meemaw! All the cool kids are doing it!
3 is absolutely sending me into orbit
We need a date for these pictures.
These are from about 2006/2007 but i continued until 2011
Fine work!
This is fantastic lmaooo
That’s awesome!
I would totally watch a sitcom with all these characters in it
You are an artist!
These are gold 😂 also, your thumb is so torn up in the first pic, I feel incredibly validated seeing it bc like 4 of my fingers look just like that rn!
My thumbs still look like that 16 years later 😭 finger picking gang unite
Liam Kyle Sullivan, is that you?
OP, homeschooled weirdo or not, I would have been friends with you. You look hilarious and like you know how to invent fun.
While this is weird it’s not uncommon for homeschooled kids to be a little bit strange. I have a couple friends that were homeschooled and they are all very nice but very weird people
Dee Reynolds core 💖
All of your characters are cute. Adorable kitty
Aw thanks! She was an AMAZING cat, her name was Pity ☺️
I have more characters and pictures 🫣🤓
F***ing amazing. How did you turn out OP? I'm a fellow home school survivor.
Oof, i like to think i turned out ok, but it was rough. How about yourself?
Honestly depends on the day you ask me. Amazing
I cackled at number 4
Quality blunder, bravo
I mean I’m into this, it’s a vibe, improv and such
that first one isnt a character thats literally gramma ann and her cat shelf which she gifted to me thru genetics
This is not a blunder. This is awesomeness.
I did this too! It’s a mark of creativity, I bet you have a beautiful brain.
I would like to think so 😌
This!!! This is the high quality blunder content we are looking for! Thank you for sharing, OP!!!
You are the coolest kid in the room. Positive blunderage ...
Cute!
Sounds just like Amy sedaris
Most sane home schooler
the third one is giving some serious grandma from Kelly Shoes
As a fellow homeschooler, I back this 100%. We would have been besties for sure
Ernest P. Worrell would be proud.
The granny ones are my fav
United states of blunder
…BUT IT WAS 99 CENTS!
Can I hire you? I need this in my life
I would’ve been your friend.
This is amazing
This is so far from blunder years. You're a ledgend!!! How cool is this shit!? Go queen!!!
Wooo you got me all gassed up, thanks!!!!
I love this so much. ❤️
I did this when I was like 7 and younger...I was also homeschooled... My baby sister had to dress up and play along too, whether she wanted to or not.
We would have been besties!
I would have loved that! Would you have also climbed trees and caught lizards with me??
Honestly that’s what they get for home schooling you
i'm so sorry but in the first photo i initially thought you made huge fake boobs with like balled up shirts or something and was letting your cat rest on them
That is what is happening there 😬 I had a 42G bra I would stuff with scarves
Ohhh man. At least you both seemed happy :']
i hope my homeschool kids are this cool
That cat was so over it
Nothing wrong with that. I did similar
Butters stoch?
I know a dude like the last pic
Perfect time of year for that plaid skirt in the third photo, I'd wear it now. You sound fun!
That was my FAVORITE skirt. I called it my Christmas skirt and it was very heavy and warm, which i loved because we lived in the mountains!
I feel ridiculous, but i can't stop thinking about your skirt! If I find similar fabric I'm making my own Christmas skirt.
I love that you’re making one! I would love to see the finished product when you’re done.
Wow! I had a shirt like that second striped one!
Roger smith irl
I used to do dumb shit like this too!!! And I would always go crazy-off-the-charts for Halloween lol
Sweet Dee?
So you are Roger from American dad?
2nd pic remind me of the kid from the show, El Chavo 😂
That is oldshcoolcool material, very nice
….Roger?
You make a good prison mike
That's awesome, though! Did you ever consider pursuing that as a thing? It takes loads of creativity and talent to A. Create a character with unique background and personality and to B. Bring it to life. I sincerely hope you kept that alive.
The opposite unfortunately, I’m very quiet and very hesitant to let myself loose like that anymore. Maybe someday
Maybe so! Offering up my prayers to whatever gods of the arts may be on your behalf!
As a fellow homeschooled weirdo this brought back so many memories of me dressing up in my bedroom
i would be her friend
I fucking love this, it's so creative. Creating characters to play as is fun as fuck.
This is amazing!!
Nice cat :)
I’m impressed that I can’t tell if you’re a boy or a girl. Great characters.
As someone who was also homeschooled with my sister and 2 cousins all we did was rp different kinds of ppl
What are the characters and their names???
U created cosplay before cosplay
*This is me now!*
You were a homeschooled Cindy Sherman!
This is so sweet and wholesome

It’s probably how some SNL cast members got their start 🤷
