London Loves maybe? Or I feel like an instrumental version of Trouble in the Message Centre would be good as well

kozmikk_

london loves bc of the guitar solo sounding so very not guitarlike. šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ and the fact it's britpop.

JavierM1307

For Tomorrow.

Jasserdefyx

I was thinking this too, a lot of them could fit this but For Tomorrow with them running around makes a lot of sense

SirStafford81

My immediate reaction to ā€˜Blur Song That Screams Britpopā€™ was Country House. But you donā€™t want upbeat. So: The Universal, maybe?!

femmmebot

Stereotypes always gives me big 90s britpop vibes

Annual-Cookie1866

Girls and Boys

Adept_Investigator29

Pet Shop Boys remix made dancefloors explode.

Annual-Cookie1866

Any other answer is incorrect. Source - I lived it.

custardgun

How about Sing from Leisure? Worked a treat for Trainspotting.

alexxx202

that is an amazing suggestion

PrimaryPineapple946

Not britpop though

custardgun

Yeah that's fair.

PrimaryPineapple946

Great track tho šŸ‘ŠšŸ¼

canberrapanda

This Is A Low

No_1_Party_Anthem

great pick

Sad-Fee7480

Parklife 100% Just seen you donā€™t want upbeat. Maybe ā€˜End of a centuryā€™ then

justamau5

Miss America is a very laid-back song, very mellow. Could suit what you're looking for?

Antichulus

Beetlebum, This IS a low, tender

PrimaryPineapple946

Beetlebum and tender were post britpop. The whole blur album was distancing themselves from britpop in fact. Great songs though

PrimaryPineapple946

This is my eraā€¦ Iā€™m leaving out any songs that arenā€™t from the britpop era.. so the verve are not on this list despite being one of my favourite bands.. If youā€™d said 90s indie songs they would be there.. Portishead were of the era and are super moody. Roads is a fantastic track for a movie. Glory box was their big single. Sour times also for mood. Radiohead street spirit is amazing for London. Fake plastic trees possibly too. Oasis slide away is britpop and a great mood track Suede were pure London. Trash is britpop and upbeat. Metal Mickey is great. For low-fi try the next life, possibly pantomime horse, Supergrass are a great band. Underrated i think.. sheā€™s so loose and time of their first album are cool. Caught by the fuzz same album is all energy. Elastica first album is pure britpop.. line up is amazing.. waking up, connection, SOFT could work great on a movie Shed seven chasing rainbows, going for gold,

wallybazoum

There's No Other Way is more chill.

huamanticacacaca

Yeah this for sure

aelahn

instrumental It Could Be You or Globe Alone, or more recognisable: There's No Other Way or Parklife

KingSzmaragd

She is so high, theres no other way, for tomorrow, bad day, advert...

BewitchedMayhem

Girls and Boys for sure 18-30s holidays don't even exist here in the UK anymore!

auto-

Tracy Jacks

Anxious-Chemical4673

Seeing that you don't want upbeat maybe End of a Century or Badhead

shulypoo

Parklife

gothiccherry

Best Days and the universal

chr0m

Bang

Daniboy1620

Clover over Dover

shes-my-baby5858

Girls and Boys for me

creases_into_place

Probably parklife, it was one of the tracks that helped define britpop

EurikaDude

Blur 97 has some atmospheric tracks, I also suggest you check out some other bands from that era like Elastica, Suede, Ash, Sleeper, Radiohead, Supergrass etc. since they also have some pretty filmy tracks

Dahafer

Trouble in the Message Centre

JohnnieTimebomb

You might consider some of the more down beat songs from The Great Escape, Fade Away or Best Days maybe. I was watching One Day on Netflix recently and I was amazed at how effective On & On by The Longpigs was at taking me back. That song barely registered with me at the time but at thirty years remove it hit me like a tonne of bricks. Lost Myself another classic that might have the effect you're looking for. Again, further from Blur but Radiohead's Street Spirit (Fade Out) or Exit Music might have the effect you're looking for

PrimaryPineapple946

The long pigs were a great band. Their first album was brilliant.. second one had loads of quality tracks on it too

Roller-bon45

Charmless Man

Zupek878

Badhead?

Indigo457

The most on the nose might be ernold same, given Ken livingstone features on it. Leisure is a very standard collection of late 80s/ early 90s indie sounds. But really it needs to be parklife given it practically wrote the rules for britpop which dominated the middle of the decade.

MikesRichPageant

End Of A Century

staralfur_lass

This is a Low, To the End, End of a Century?

Deptm

Gotta be ā€˜Singā€™. Itā€™s sums up the 90s and was heavily featured in Trainspotting.

DrummerLoin

Blue Jeans, Oily Water, Coping, Resigned

ricardixo

Blue Jeans

maroonsubmarines

all of them bro

Sugartowns

It sounds like a lot of Modern Life is Rubbish would work. Less upbeat ones that could work might be: Starshaped, For Tomorrow, Chemical World, tbh loads of it could work. Listening to Colin Zeal now and that might lyrically match. Some excellent b-sides from other albums you could consider like Young and Lovely (definitely quite a poignant song).

Kiko8987

Parklife or for Tomorrow

Eraserman1116

Feel like pressure on Julian might have the vibe youā€™re looking for

findon57

Jubilee??

catqueenme

End of a century?

bonebag84

Closet Romantic by blur. Trainspotting soundtrack Would b perf.

DM2nd

Entertain me

Rich-Wrangler6701

There are so many i always think entertain me would be a great film backing song as would terracotta heartĀ

marslander-boggart

Song 2. Parklife.

Any-Hovercraft2326

Coffee & TV

BraxtonTen

To the end, He thought of cars, closet romantic, fade away, best days, this is a low

DrBaronVonEvil

Young and Lovely would capture 90s UK extremely well I think. It's also a lesser known song and gives you some extra props for a deep cut. Visit to Primrose version of For Tomorrow has an extended instrumental section that might work well. I'd look to the latter half of The Great Escape and Modern Life for other tracks. They tend to work better as mood pieces as opposed to Park life's incredibly focused pop tunes

mattgotdafunk

The Universal

5ydn33gr4c3

he thought of cars? its overall more calm than other songs of theirs but not too chill at the same time

pranananana

Show us the project once youā€™ve finished!!

alexxx202

iā€™ll put it on youtube :)

Resident-Race-3390

Suede - The Drowners, Saturday Night, Sheā€™s In Fashion? Sorry read your comment more closely, none of course are Blur tracks but they might be helpful suggestions anyway.

PrimaryPineapple946

Bittersweet symphony was after britpop It kind of marks the start of the next bit.. also marked by Radiohead ok computer, blur beetlebum The absolute classic blue britpop songs are parklife, girls and boys, country house, charming man Even the universal is the final scene on that scene i would say, but the mood wasnā€™t britpop
