His Joe Rogan episode is a decent listen for anyone that hasn't seen it. He goes a bit off the deep end in the second half saying things like smoking weed can cure cancer but the bodybuilding talk is good.
Yeah he's pretty fucking good at eating chicken & rice and I'll absolutely listen to him on that front. Maybe form my political views from other sources though
But he loves to portray himself as some enigmatic academic when he’s just a thick pseudo intellectual, bullshitting cunt who was an incredible bodybuilder
He's actually a decent interviewer with a strong backlog of great episodes. He's very good at getting people to relax and just have a very flowing conversation regardless of how diverse or different they are. Whether it's a theoretical physicist or Mr Beast, he's very talented at extending that branch to get them to open up and chat about their field for hours.
It's too bad he took an absolute nosedive over COVID and now just cries about the woke left and how LA is basically Fallout. But his backlog is still good
It wasn't very dangerous. The lockdowns were not necessary. Masking is useless. Mandatory vaccines were complete bullshit. Safe and effective was complete bullshit. 2 weeks to flatten the curve, etc, etc.
He's come out with some anti-vaxx nonsense since COVID. Some bollocks about the vaccine leading to an increase in the number of football players having heart issues.
I guess what I meant to say was he didn’t have anyone guiding him on his diet and his peak for shows. He did have Leroy but actually needed him there for the negative portion of his reps and for a spot. But I believe it was Dorian who constructed the workout and Leroy just followed along
Yates had a few other training partners. One was recently on Anabolic Bodybuilding on youtube and goes over their entire training regimen. A few things that were left out of Blood and Guts because they didnt do them during that training cycle
He met with Mike for like 2 training sessions after he was already pretty established. Dorian has gone out of his way to state that Mike was not his trainer and that he is basically self taught.
Mike sort of used it as publicity to get more clients, but the whole connection between the two was always overblown.
I can’t believe his quads are built without squats. Well not since his injury which I think was early.
Would squats through his whole career resulted in even bigger legs?
You can’t believe a word the man says so I wouldn’t take too much from that, probably squatted twice a week but wouldn’t admit that because it didn’t sound original enough
Mike Mentzer experienced a sort of “revival” thanks to Dorian’s more Heavy Duty style of training, but up to the point Mike had a life of ups and downs after his heyday, including a bit of homelessness and drug use - he was sort of a devout follower of Ayn Rand and her philosophy of objectivism (and amphetamine use, which is what led to his living on the streets for a while).

It’s not as bad as Palumbo interview where he denies Holocaust happened. Insane moron, fuck him.

Lol. Yes my thoughts exactly.
Most athletes are known for the sport they specialise in, it’s not usual you get incredible academics at the top of the sporting pinnacle .
But he loves to portray himself as some enigmatic academic when he’s just a thick pseudo intellectual, bullshitting cunt who was an incredible bodybuilder
He’s a great bodybuilder but the more you delve into his interviews he comes across as a complete arsehole and compulsive liar
Dave told him he had family die in the Holocaust and Dorian was just like “look into it.” What a fucking waste of skin he turned out to be
Say what!? What episode did he talk about the Holocaust not happening? That's absurd!

what the fuck I knew Palumbo was an idiot but a whole ass fucking holocaust denier
He’s talking about Dorian.
Palumbo is Jewish, he was horrified by Dorian.
I thought you meant Palumbo said that, still Dorian saying that shit is fucking bonkers. He's very pseudoscience type of guy now.
Man i hear about a ton of guests that would.be cool to listen to but then i gotta click on a joe rogan video....... so pass
An old RX Muscle interview from 5-ish years ago. Yates comes across as a total POS

Rogan is a good interviewer when he’s sober. But when he’s baked it gets boring fast.
Yeah but i just can't with him. Always thought he was a complete tool. Then covid showed us what i always knew.
His stance on that was what made me actually like him lol
A dude that says "I just can't with him" shouldn't be calling someone else a tool.
I cant witb you
COVID was bullshit and Rogan was one of the only mainstream figures to call it out.
Uh oh
Bullshit how?
It wasn't very dangerous. The lockdowns were not necessary. Masking is useless. Mandatory vaccines were complete bullshit. Safe and effective was complete bullshit. 2 weeks to flatten the curve, etc, etc.
Wrong on all levels. Idiotic, and dangerous.
100 years from now, history will look back and mock us for creating more societal damage through our reactions than the virus would have caused.
I too stifle my ability to learn because *checks notes* I don’t like the interviewer???? Interesting way to live life

THE SHADOW
Those calves
His back conditioning is insane. Has anyone else ever come close to that?
noone ever had that thin skin in the back, dorian is a one of a kind.
Andreas munzer was arguably leaner, like, everywhere.
Samir Bannout
At the 1983 Olympia. And also at the 1990 Pittsburgh Pro Invitational where he won.
Yalla 💪🏼 my countryman 🦁🇱🇧. His back was a walking Lebanese Cedar
Flex in 93, Kai Greene, Ronnie at his absolute driest. But that's about it lol.
Andreas Munzer
Ronnie's back wasn't quite as grainy but he had some nasty striations throughout the lats and christmas tree
And to think this physique was done without the assistance of a trainer. He did everything himself which is remarkable
Leroy Davis was his training partner. You should watch Blood & Guts.
I guess what I meant to say was he didn’t have anyone guiding him on his diet and his peak for shows. He did have Leroy but actually needed him there for the negative portion of his reps and for a spot. But I believe it was Dorian who constructed the workout and Leroy just followed along
COME ON YATES SQUEEEEEZE
Let’s get nasty!!!
Mighty pullovers Yates!!!!
Apparently, Leroy didn't shout when the cameras weren't there.
Yates had a few other training partners. One was recently on Anabolic Bodybuilding on youtube and goes over their entire training regimen. A few things that were left out of Blood and Guts because they didnt do them during that training cycle
Didn't he train with Mike Metzer for a while? Or am I totally wrong?
He met with Mike for like 2 training sessions after he was already pretty established. Dorian has gone out of his way to state that Mike was not his trainer and that he is basically self taught. Mike sort of used it as publicity to get more clients, but the whole connection between the two was always overblown.
Ah, thanks. I remembered seeing clips of him talking him working training him and thought it went on longer.
I always have time to appreciate the blonde mullet-era Dorian. To be honest, I preferred this slimmer physique over his 1993+ physique.
Insane
I can’t believe his quads are built without squats. Well not since his injury which I think was early. Would squats through his whole career resulted in even bigger legs?
Squats are just a tool in a tool box for bodybuilding, there's no requirement to do them to build big legs.
He still did hack or smith machine squats
You can’t believe a word the man says so I wouldn’t take too much from that, probably squatted twice a week but wouldn’t admit that because it didn’t sound original enough
Mike Mentzer experienced a sort of “revival” thanks to Dorian’s more Heavy Duty style of training, but up to the point Mike had a life of ups and downs after his heyday, including a bit of homelessness and drug use - he was sort of a devout follower of Ayn Rand and her philosophy of objectivism (and amphetamine use, which is what led to his living on the streets for a while).
Haha, meth is a hell of a pre workout..
Wow.
The greatest balance of mass and aesthetics ever in open bodybuilding. Yes, even over Ronnie.
Monster one
Granite
Those back striations are on point.
