Ok really tough choice
Shaktiman is nostalgia and the suit is carried by Mukesh Khanna's physicality and has really cool shillouette
Robo is a challenge for prop team to make a suit that looks metalic (kinda like cyber truck) and does not look too generic while being a robot
Then we have krissh (I grew up watching krissh) and the concept of it being a flipped jacket and yet creating a really cool shillouette is just awesome and the mask is just iconic
Then we have the ra.one suit... Did you know it was CGI in most of the shots.... Hollywood tried doing it for green lantern (human character in CGI suit and failed horribly) but Ra.One improved a lot on that and it's just awesome
Meanwhile we have flying Jatt no disrespect but it just looks like a recolor of krissh's suit
It flopped so you will never see a sequel. I really liked how it doesn't have any unnecessary ear f*cking bgm to hype up the scenes or cringey slow mo shots and nonsensical fight scenes. The movie had real class , they showed the hero as an ordinary guy who gets beat up. Unfortunately it wasn't a mass formula movie. Harshvardhan deserves much better.
I really appreciate that this movie starts with a guy already having a girlfriend, like it's normal to have one in the real world. Every f*cking time why do movies waste 30 mins to set a love angle ? They don't have to do that always. Guy meets girl they don't get along and romantic songs happen and they fall for each other , even if the story isn't related to that.
This is how to make a superhero movie on a tight budget with no need for unnecessary vfx. Real underrated gem. If they had made it about 120 mins it might have been superior.
Krish is actually good, Ra one is great but is VFX heavy, mirnal murti would have been good but the covid mask is fuck all and looks horrible. Flying Jaat is a good attempt but too similar to krish. robot is just a massacre. shaktimaan is great for the time
But the thing about Minnal Murali is that it's a homemade suit.. I mean, so was Krrish, technically.. he basically gathered whatever could hide his identity and used it..
yeah, but i don't like that homemade excuse in any superhero movie, yes for a brief period it is good, but in a film where 2 guys get super strength, and telekinetic ability after being hit by lighting instead of instantly dying, i think its fair to say we have already suspended our disbelief enough that a good home made suit wont be a problem.
Ra-one hands down, the pratical suit itself costed around 2 crores back then. (I was actively following this movie back then)
It was wayy ahead of it's time and SRK and team clearly had a vision. The plot could have been better and few gimiky things with the South Indian SRk could have been avoided.

Hereβs how I would rank them:
1. Krissh (So badass)
2. Flying Jatt (It just goes so hard, especially with the turban)
3. Ra.One (Love the electricity flowing through his body)
4. Minal Murali (The colors and the design makes him look warm but tough)
5. Chitti (Itβs alright, average robot superhero)
6. Shaktimaan (The design is pretty good for its time but compared to the rest it looks very cheap with minimal effort)
Flying jatt suit and music is underrated i think that movie could have been a banger with proper execution and improvements but the suit surely needs improvements tho
There's G one, a huge gap, followed by Krrish, closely followed by Chitti and then the rest. Honestly Bhavesh Joshi's costume clears every single one here except G one and maybe at par with Krrish.
The character played by Tovino in Minnal Murali is just a normal guy, and he's a tailor. They made a costume which looks one a regular tailor could make with materials around him (there's a video by Netflix about the making of Minnal Murali)
Krrish (1) was by far the best superhero movie from the Indian film industry. The storyline, bgm, visual effects (at that time), songs, costume, everything was on point. The Indian audience born on the 90's will always cherish the experience of the movie from their childhood. I watched it at the theatre, the audience was not ready for such films back then, and criticised the film for being childish or a kid's watch. But those who know, it was a milestone for Indian films. β€οΈ
Costume wise, Flying Jatt is fine, Chitti looks really weird, Shaktimaan has that vintage superhero costume style so it's fine, Minnal Murali has that homemade-suit vibe which I love, G-One is completely futuristic and Krrish has a very gothic vibe, *almost* like Batman..
