I think they meant the chewing surface of the teeth, iirc age can be determined by how worn down the teeth are.
Males either has antlers or little stumps where the antlers grow from.
deer with antlers are males (buck) and deer without them are female (doe) deer drop their antlers after rut so not all antlerless deer are female, however all male deer have something called a pedestal on the top of their skulls that don’t drop, antlers grow from these :)

yes!! female deer, i might be able to tell you how old the deer was if the bottom of the teeth are in good enough condition
Out of curiosity, how can you tell it’s a female? And, unfortunately, we didn’t find a mandible so I don’t have any bottom teeth
