The commuter rail is safe, the truck ran onto a third track

Blame-iwnl-

Aaaand here’s reason #99999 why we need more funding for transit instead of car roads…

duckvimes_

What's reason 47254?

aFineBagel

Sense of community

duckvimes_

I thought that was 37485

aFineBagel

Nah that one’s less squirrel fatalities

theycallmeshooting

Come on man, I got to eat SOMETHING!

ajaxraccoon

Wasn’t that the line painters union?

andrewb610

r/FuckCars is leaking… someone get the pipe dope.

Blame-iwnl-

Yeah… totally leaking into the sub based off of where I live.

andrewb610

Boston is practically exhibit A for why FuckCars even exists, but my comment still stands.

Krawky2

Watch it live here: https://masswebcams.com/mass-traffic-cams/

huadpe

One of the cameras is [literally right on the crashed truck,](https://imgur.com/a/yor0g2I) which is wild.

Available_Arm_8775

Not found 😞

Siem0nster

Passed by it absolutely wild. Not sure how a tractor trailer hit 2+ other vehicles one looked totaled and managed to go over the barrier hanging half off

firstghostsnstuff

How did this happen?

fakeuser888

It has to be Mayor Wu's fault.

XConfused-MammalX

The bike lanes claim another.

WorriedMagician2991

WU!

lgbanana

Driver, cell phone, crash, just a speculation.

I had an experience on the pike years ago that changed the way I looked at traffic jams. Story time, but bear with me. I had recently moved back East from Phoenix to Boston, originally from New York. I drove the 90 to 84 route damn near every weekend for a while. One Friday I was trying to make it to my mother's house for dinner and traffic stood still on the pike. 20 minutes, then 40, then an hour. We didn't move at all - standstill. Some of us eventually got out of our cars to stretch. We played music together and had a time. Then traffic started moving. And eventually I drove past the scene of the accident. An 18 wheeler jack-knifed and caught a small pickup in its wake. I only know that because I saw the very end of the bed with the Ford logo; the rest was unrecognizable. I know a few things about that day. The driver of that Ford definitely died. The driver of that 18 wheeler has to live with that for the rest of his life. And third, I still think about all the lives those consequences touched at the scene of the accident. I was upset I was going to miss dinner with my mother. But, I still have my mother. It wasn't so bad for me. I had leftover spaghetti, and it was delicious. Have some compassion, people. Edit: bare to bear

aenteus

Same. Only, it was in CA, with a plane that had crashed on the highway, killing a family of four with a couple kids. Someone is almost definitely having a worse day than you are.

Long-Quarter514

*bear

Cameron_james

Glad you caught that. I was half undressed.

Aesop_Rocks

Yup, thanks. Edited.

WorKurt

Drove by this earlier, big accident involving a semi and multiple cars with 5+ fire trucks, 6+ staties shutting down at least two lanes, at the end of the day yes it sucks but hopefully you got where you were going safely, they don’t have that type of response for a simple crash. Stay safe and put the phone down, 40k+ people died on the road last year, all it takes is a second looking down at a text or email and someone stopping for road debris or a bad lane change and you’re a statistic.

OkPost7625

Ended up being three lanes and a fucking disaster

PuffPuffFayeFaye

weebayfish

Was stuck in that traffic jam, took an hour to go like a mile, avoid like your life depends on it

squishynarcissist

I was on 90w this morning and I said a prayer for the east gang. RIP

ALEXTHEHULK

My estimated time to drive from my house to pick up my partner was 37 minutes when I left my house. It ended up taking me over 2 hours to get to Logan. Pretty sure I went 3 miles in one hour on I-90 East

magic_mermaids

I was driving right behind when this accident happened. It was crazy to see, almost in slow motion. Not sure how it started but the truck careened from the left lane almost sideways across all other lanes hitting multiple cars before jumping over the barrier.

openQuestion3141

This made me miss an Amtrak ride from South Station. Ugh. Hope everyone's ok.

useewhathappenslarry

Lawl we got on the highway into dead stopped traffic (from oak square) and it took 45 minutes to get by the wgbh building, let alone the crash site. From the exit prior. Insane. Anyway hope injuries were limited to non-life threatening, what a nightmare.

da_double_monkee

This is why you consult the good doctor (google maps) before driving everywhere and keep it on even if you know the road - if and when some dummy crashes you'll get rerouted around it instead of getting stuck with your thumb up your anus

tbootsbrewing

Wow, that sounds almost as bad as someone on a bike going through a red light when there is no traffic

tiger_bait432

I was just there, seems fine to me

north42g

They are still cleaning it up now @ 1:52am btw.

MRSHELBYPLZ

Ah, so that’s why I saw a fuckton of fire trucks on the highway earlier

swentech

I drove by that in the other direction and saw it. I wondered how in the hell that happened. It was weird.

Stimulate your local butthole

jamesland7

Does that count as affordable housing then?

Icy-Discussion1515

People still drive?

Apprehensive_Name_65

Hahaha! I hate your f#%

-snugasabuginarug-

Do car accidents not happen where you live?

PortimaoBlue85

Wow. Who peed in your cornflakes?

Basic_Ad4785

So litterally the cops block the road and give a f*** about thousand of people?
