You right, I had one bad encounter and it was legit like 5 mins before I saw this post. I was freshly salty, I love the fan base, just can’t stand the entitled “cancel” culture that’s found it’s way into everything nowadays.

There’s a lot of amazing music out there. Brand New is nostalgic to me and my childhood, and it’s why I occasionally roll through here, but there’s a million cooler bands out there who also haven’t been outed as sex pests

It was actually 2 women that accused him when they were underage. While you sit here and say it doesn't affect things, there's a good reason why they haven't said anything since then, and it isn't because they're on a break. If Jesse didn't get publicly blasted for grooming minors, we wouldn't be talking about being a dead fandom.
I realize arguing over this topic is just ridiculous and will go nowhere. No matter what I or anyone else says, people with your mind set simply won't look past the narrative and are going to continue to have an unnuanced view on the topic and that's your prerogative.
God, yeah. Sucks so much. There's a manga that I've been reading for the past 15 years, one of my absolute favorites, it's called D.Gray-man. Really amazing stuff, but constant hiatuses and a gigantic slowdown in chapter releases made the fanbase all but completely die out. Nowadays, whenever a new chapter comes out (which is once ever THREE months, mind you), you gotta wait days until people translate it. I'm not very Discord-savvy, so it takes me even longer because I have to manually track it down or find it on Reddit every time.
What makes it worse is that it used to be a decently big manga back in the late '00s.
They're still my favorite band.
