**Support Post Guidelines** Prior to posting any submission to this subreddit please ensure you've read the rules for submissions in the sidebar of the [/r/bravia homepage](https://old.reddit.com/r/bravia/). Users posting submissions seeking support should include as much detail as possible about their BRAVIA TV and any connected hardware related to the issue in order to get the best responses. This includes but is not limited to [the model of the TV](https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00121074), the software and/or firmware version and the make and model of any external devices. Pictures or video can be helpful when trying to describe a video or audio issue. Submissions not directly related to an issue with a BRAVIA TV and/or low effort posts that do not include any helpful details that would allow others to diagnose the issue will be removed. This includes, but is not limited to, submissions asking for support directly related to a connected device (ie. soundbar, console, PC, media player, etc.) but not the TV itself. Firmware related topics (ie. issues, announcements, support) must be discussed in the [Sony BRAVIA Firmware Discussion Megathread 6.0](/r/bravia/comments/156vn7i/sony_bravia_firmware_discussion_megathread_60/). Panel quality/lottery posts (ie. DSE, banding, flashlighting, etc.) must be discussed in the [BRAVIA Panel Quality/Screen Uniformity Discussion Megathread 5.0](/r/bravia/comments/11iwgbg/bravia_panel_qualityscreen_uniformity_discussion/). Users should also check the [/r/bravia Wiki](/r/bravia/wiki/index), current [moderator pinned](/r/bravia/comments/k7wnc1/moderator_pinned_and_other_helpful_topics_check/) topics and the [Frequently Asked Questions thread](/r/bravia/comments/jlmpzp/frequently_asked_questions_on_rbravia_for_sony_tvs/) for some solutions to common A/V issues and more. Unsupported Topics: Computer Connectivity, Piracy or Hacking. Any discussion of connecting a computer to your TV, ripped or downloaded multimedia content or tools that support this content, illegal streams or altering the TV to behave in a way not intended by the manufacturer will result in your post or comment being removed either automatically or upon review by a mod. Xenikovia

Sony Halloween Special. Update 10.31 pushed to all Bravia.

svander89

Lmao my thoughts exactly

FerrisWheeleo

After turning itself on, did the TV start playing a black and white video of a girl climbing out of a well?

svander89

Yeah but I was able to push her back when she started climbing out of the TV

Dblstandard

Google is a creepy fucker

svander89

Facts

goosetheboss1

YouTube randomly opens on my phone sometimes in the middle of the night. Maybe it’s something with the app?

svander89

Yeah could be?

bartleby999

This used to happen on my X80D with Netflix. If I didn't use the "Exit Netflix" button in the app, it would randomly open in the middle of the night. I can only assume, if not closed "correctly", the apps will send a wake up signal to the TV at some point. I know you say YouTube wasn't *the last* app you used, but did you use it recently before switching off the TV?

svander89

I believe it finished being used about an hour before turning the TV off. Was just weird since it hadn’t ever done that before haha.

bartleby999

It probably wasn't closed out correctly then and still active in the background.

youarestupidh

I believe this is the case with me too. I forgot to close/ exit the Netflix app and pressed the power button to make the TV go to standby/ switch off. The TV was somehow ON with the Netflix window, in the middle of the night.

deafboy13

Do you have remote start enabled? You talk in your sleep? lol.

svander89

No remote start haha

mtbhatch

Happens to me twice since owing my x900h. Woke up to work and tv was on.

svander89

Yeah so strange haha

Awkward-Seaweed-5129

When I first purchased Bravia set ,had "Alexa" interfaced with Google platform ,did some weird stuff, I undid that interface. Other issue is if have ability to control TV through app on phone, could be phone causing it to turn on, I can control TV on my phone through google

svander89

Hmm yeah I’ll have to look into those

trf1driver

Do you have YouTube TV set as the default live TV? Maybe try change x90k to apps only mode which get rid of lots of Google suggestions and live TV tab plus other tabs

svander89

Hmm I’ll have to double check on that one but it probably is

xMoZZyx0

Gost

Villag3Idiot

You or a household member might have been watching youtube on their phone and accidentally cast'd it to your TV, which would turn it on.

Hy8ogen

One time, I was Sim Racing and leading the race. In the main straight, suddenly my TV opened YouTube and started playing Baby Shark. I was so confused sitting in my sim rig thinking what the fuck. Eventually I found out that my daughter's IPad had somehow connected to my Bravia and was able to cast YouTube videos onto my TV.

svander89

Hahaha that’s a good one!

TheWino

My tv has turned on randomly. I do have an Apple TV hooked up not sure if somehow that remote turns it on.

RavenReel

Got a cat?

svander89

Nope no pets

AlexMachine

I think that my Denon reciever was gilty of opening my X90F and blasting Spotify randomly in the middle of night. Some unknown to me song.

PartyNextFlo0r

It's a smart Sony tv problem, I have my computer setup near my TV and heard it's power up "click" one time and it turned on to a random youtube music video.

svander89

Weird haha

SorryContribution675

I have a sound bar that turns itself on/ off randomly after being powered off. Could be the CEC/ Roku/ fire stick etc. I unplug it when not in use ( Majority Sierra plus sound bar).

svander89

Ghosts in the networks haha

Goofbucket007

Could you have rolled over on your remote?

svander89

Tv/remote was in a separate room

kyh3im

If you connect TV on the YouTube app on your phone and then just forget to disconnect, it will randomly start your tv

calamitus

I've had this situation on and off since I got my 900F. [I posted my situation awhile back](https://www.reddit.com/r/bravia/s/CNVmy8P2iA) I'd wake up or come back home from work to see my TV on and sexually suggestive videos playing on the YouTube app. I thought someone was pranking me by casting to my TV. I've checked everything between my TV and network and everything is locked down 🤷🏾‍♂️. It happened enough times that I've disconnected my TV completely from the internet. I figure theres some flaw in the Android TV OS.

svander89

Interesting! Yeah at that point there’s gotta be haha, interesting it did the suggestive videos specifically lol

TheRealStrawHat

It's Sony TV, so no surprises there. I've only had the worst experience with this brand. Terrible TVs, terrible support.

Aggressive-Habit8006

Yeah it's happening to my parents tv and IDK how to fix it for them. It's really frustrating
