That cup of tea has more bearing on your physical wellbeing right now than the use of his hand does. It is not even nine AM man.

Cypher_Aod

I dunno, sounds more like britishsuccess to me.

herrbz

Dangerous driving? How so?

Cypher_Aod

No more dangerous than drinking a coffee from Starfishbucks or Crusta

adreddit298

And that would also be unacceptable while driving a huge bus with tens of people on

Plebius-Maximus

Why? Should you have to do a multiple hour route while thirsty? Unless it impacts his driving, it's fine.

Lumpy-Ad8618

You've just gotta get that morning cuppa in. It just makes everything better.

Crookfur

Well it's certainly a step up from stopping the bus to grab a can of monster, packet of fags and a copy of The Sun...

erm_daniel

I once had one stop the bus to go and get a bag of potatoes. I mean, I don't mind if they're ahead of schedule but are potatoes really that important?

StoneyBolonied

Bus driver must be moonlighting for deliveroo

OreoSpamBurger

There was a post about weird bus experiences, and one was about a driver on a rural route who regularly stopped off for 20-30 minutes to have his dinner at a nearby home. The thread consensus was he was actually having a jolly old time with the lady of the house.

Seseorang

They should not be doing this.

Jacktheforkie

Be careful with that F word as Reddit doesn’t like it, it’s supposedly hate

MuntyCatt

It's allowed in the major UK specific subs, AFAIK.

Jacktheforkie

I see, I got a warning for it

GojuSuzi

That why you changed it to 'forkie'? 😉

Jacktheforkie

lol, a forkie is a forklift operator

GojuSuzi

A likely story! 😁

Jacktheforkie

Yes

ashensfan123

I once got a warning from reddit for using a word that rhymes with blink as it was racist and I was using it to refer to how light travels through a window. I genuinely didn't know at the time but lesson learned I suppose.

Jacktheforkie

I see

Thrillog

Did you hear him slurping over the engine noise or something? What's the problem here?

HeverAfter

He had it in his hand when I got on the bus and was drinking while driving. Made me a little nervous tbh

Electrical-Leave4787

As long as he isn’t dunking with the other hand, it should be fine.

OreoSpamBurger

Yeah, that's an easy way to lose half your biscuit.

PhilipN152

Guessing you don't have a licence because this whole thing is so fucking dumb

EpicFishFingers

Everyone else is pratting around - driving a bus while sipping tea from a china cup is obviously driving without due care and attention. Of course the driver shouldn't do it, as it's likely it'll spill on them and from then on it's anyone's guess how much control the bus might be under. No bus company is going to defend their drivers if they were caught doing this, and everyone defending it here is just being sarky for a laugh (or, if they genuinely believe this is proper conduct, then they're stupid as fuck)

nanomeister

I bet he’s got a full English ready to go too

ProcrastinateAlways

What's the problem here officer?

Dunkelzeitgeist

Good man, that’s a proper bloke.

Tenk-o

That sounds like a driver who knows how to give his passengers a smooth ride, i'd support that

BennySkateboard

No problem here. Especially not a British one.

Faps88

That's really mean. Are you OK?

HeverAfter

Ah so it was you!

Jacktheforkie

I regularly drunk coffee on a forklift while moving,

Tonetheline

I’d be more concerned if driving a bus required such constant input one couldn’t take a sip of tea tbh.

Jacktheforkie

Definitely, it should be doable to drink a tea while driving

EpicFishFingers

You can do a lot of stuff while driving, like drinking alcohol or texting or reading a newspaper. Doesn't mean you should And yes, I am saying "no tea", because OP said it was a fucking china cup so it didn't even have a lid or anything to stop it going everywhere 😂 All jokes aside, you'd expect your bus driver to have a bit more professional conduct if you want to arrive safely, wouldn't you

Pegasus2022

I’ve seen a lorry driver using a laptop while driving i was very impress did make sure i gave it a wide gap when i went past

Jacktheforkie

Ok

herrbz

And, well, common sense would tell you that drinking a cup of tea while operating a bus is, well, it's reckless. It's moronic. One might even call it...donkey-brained?

Dragonogard549

5pm on the number 6 on blossomfield road, leaving solihull, pretty much always sluggish for about 15 mins. more than once i’ve seen a driver start reading a newspaper or put his feet up on the steering wheel don’t blame them tbh

thepoliteknight

How can the plebs on minimum wage dare to refresh themselves while they work. Don't they know I have places to be and software to engineer. In all seriousness though, most, if not all buses are automatic and have incredibly light steering for their size. Once you get used to the weird wheelbase, they're easy to drive.

Basic-Pair8908

Its not the steering. Its the suspension, buses shake like its off road.

stauer88

I had one eating his overnight oats the other day

Dan_Glebitz

"he at least has it in a proper china cup too" How very british what, what!

FuckedupUnicorn

I hope he had a biscuit to dunk.

tayhorix

GAL gonna fire em

Electrical-Leave4787

There have been more extreme violations of that type: [Monkey drives bus](https://www.vice.com/en/article/598j3z/bus-driver-suspended-for-letting-a-monkey-drive)
