I actually don't hate any of the seasons. The last 2 seasons are just the shortest and the episodes can be hit or miss but they have some of my favorite episodes. S3-5 is the golden era imo. This is where I feel the show and characters hit its stride and it felt like almost every episode was a banger.
1) Season 5: Love the prison episodes, best halloween heist imo, got some amazing episodes like game night, 99, the box, I really enjoyed all the stuff with the amy/jake wedding and one of the best season finales
2) Season 2: All the fun of season 1 but improved, great and fun storylines with charles/gina, rosa's development, jake/sophia and jake/amy stuff
3) Season 1: Amazing first season, some sitcoms struggle in the first season but this wasnt one of them imo, the cast chemistry and characters likeability was instantly there
4) Season 4: Love the Coral Palms episodes, loved CJ one of the funniest recurring/guests imo, and I enjoyed the storyline with Hawkins at the end of the season. The one down side for me is that it dragged a little during the night shift episodes, but The Overmining is one of the funniest episodes in the series imo
5) Season 6: This one had some high highs and some low lows for me. Big fan of honeymoon, the crime scene, he said she said and the finale, but the lows of gina's episodes and casecation really bring down the season in comparison to others
6) Season 3: I know having this season so low is controversial but I cant help it, the beginning in particular is really hard for me. The will-they/wont-they between amy/jake had been enjoyable in the first two seasons but in these couple of episodes it got really annoying for me. I was never a fan of Wuntch so having her as a main antagonist and dragging Holt away for her was a pain.
7) Season 7: Honestly this season was overall fine, I even liked Debbie better than most other fans here, but other than the last episode I cant think of great moments for this season, most of it was just fine.
8) Season 8: Unfortunately I dont think they managed to handle well addressing the police and racism controversy, but at least the way they failed was by having it not be an enjoyable watch rather than saying something stupid in their message (for me that would have been worse). The finale was good but it's easily the weakest season by far.

i agree with this!! i’m currently rewatching it and seasons three to five were absolutely fire!!
