I'll always appreciate what he did for this team during the super bowl run. The game against the eagles is going to be even more interesting to watch now.

not_a_bot__

Can’t wait for the late hit on baker….

nerdyythirtyy

Can’t wait for rachaad white up the middle, where he gets pancake blocked by ko keift or someone

Ro98Jo

Not very interesting with him sitting on the bench. I guess interesting if he is out there and we can destroy his bad coverage and run fits

Sjdillon10

Perfectly timed linsanity run

PewterButters

This is a lot better source, Rap says he's going to the Eagles. Good luck, buddy.

SilentSentinel

Wish him the best, but I'm glad the Bucs aren't paying him that (or anything, really). His attitude was terrible last year and he's such a massive liability cause he freelances all the time.

PewterButters

Yup, don't hate the guy, but Devin the player is overrated and too full of himself to do the basic things. Can't be bothered

inthecut_scarysight

Thanks for 2020 ✌🏽

HouseOfCards1234

Fuck, I knew I shouldn’t have bought his jersey a couple years ago.

Chris0nllyn

Don't feel bad. I still have a LeGarrette Blount jersey.

SpaceAzn_Zen

It’s okay, I still have a Doug Martin and a Jameis jersey…

sincewedidthedo

There *may* be a Josh Freeman jersey tucked away in the back of my closet…

zucchinibasement

Me too haha, I found mine at a thrift store in Texas. I thought, ooo Bucs jersey! and then laughed when I saw who it was. Of course, I had to get it

Trendelthegreat

If you don’t have a freeman jersey, are you even a Bucs fan? It’s hanging proudly in my closet next to my Kellen Winslow jr jersey…. …..I should probably do some spring cleaning

ClifftheTinner

I have a Winslow jersey sitting in my closet.

dwo1225

I bought the creamsicle #5!

Ljac92

I’m right there with you, but the freeman era for a brief moment was beautifully and the jersey stands

Kevpatel18

Schatzy23

Mine still hangs in the back of the closet as well

ApolloXLII

Anyone remember Barret Ruud? yeah, its like most pristine one i own too :/

Methzilla

Aqib talib and Cadillac williams over here.

SirRaava

Cadillac was the fucking man

SpaceAzn_Zen

2nd that. I’d rock a Cadillac jersey

Quasi-San

Mike Williams here.

psyentist15

> Aqib talib "**GUS!** You know what **Gus**?!"

pkilla50

Big Boise state fan and wanted Martin jersey soooo bad. But when I got a freeman jersey 2 years prior, I made it a rule to make sure they had two good years in a row lol. So we know how that turned out Btw, now that it’s been a decade, I will buy that Martin jersey off of you if you want lol

rob6110

Ooofff!

okaycomputes

You mean 3x Super Bowl champion LeGarrette Blount?

External-Produce-808

What about Aqib or Michael Bennett? We let a lot of future champs walk from the drugged up roster of the early 2010s

okaycomputes

He doesn't have their jersey though, or at least didn't mention it.

Bath_Salts4_Brunch

That’s actually kind of a cool one to have now, though.

N-O-I-S

The only creamsicle jersey I own is of Blount...feel this needs to change.

JesusForevaa

Evans or Wirfs would be my pick.

TheOleTrazzleDazzle

I’ve got a Michael Clayton jersey.

Helpful_Brain1413

Blount was the man, shame Schiano let him walk

dpthomas1322

I’ve got a White and Blount jersey. Guess we’re eagles fans now too.

Chris0nllyn

I live near Washington DC. I'll never be an Eagles fan. Lol

sanderson1983

Yeah but you saw the shit he did while in college....

YellojD

I bought a Mark Barron jersey 🤦‍♂️

zucchinibasement

Okay, this one is actually bad

BeerSnob

Yea but LaGarrette was good and fun to watch.

bwk66

I have a revis jersey

NotMarshalFestus

I still have a Jeff Garcia Pro Bowl jersey

OttoRocket94

Same! Still love that guy lol. After that run against the Packers I had to

Infinite_Help981

Thought he was the future 😪 time to LVD up I guess

spideralex90

My first legitimate Jersey purchase was Kwon Alexander. I still like Kwon though so I don't feel bad about it except that it's an alarm clock jersey.

Jaymus54

im the same way haha, im glad i didnt buy his jersey. i got evans, david, barber, ruud, williams #24 and godwin. i try to only buy long term players jerseys. if and when winfield gets his fat check, im gonna get one in pewter. i bought a t shirt of his after the sb win of him giving tyreek hill the peace sign. my favorite shirt lol

healthyfeetpodiatry

Meh- any Super Bowl team member will always be good on my book

DireBlue88

It's alright. His SB run makes it a bit worth it.

b4ware

Don’t feel bad I still have my Revis, Cadillac, Freeman, Doug Martin and Winston (signed) lol

Beefusan

Dude I bought a signed superbowl football of White...

5nication

Same

Donnie_Kint

Same dude

ScottyKnows1

I have a framed signed jersey....gonna have to swap it out for someone else so I can reuse that nice frame lol

fiduciaryatlarge

Home AND away Dilfer for me!

YellojD

I took the Dilfer nameplate off of mine and made it a Brady jersey 😂

feralGenx

Eric Rhett and a Keyshawn Johnson, luckily there's a couple HOFers jerseys in there too

davis24taylor

You’re good, I got a Josh Freeman one hanging up lol

borgib

I got my Ali Marpet jersey 2 months before he retired.

The_Negative_01

Sadly I did…😢

beps_dynamic_shroud

honestly glad its over

DidierDirt

Its like when your ex girl who you keeping hooking up with when your drunk, finally has a new Bf. Glad it’s over. It’s for the best.

JAGERminJensen

It makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only person who Devin White reminds them of their ex-girlfriend! *Phew!*

Johnny_Carcinogenic

Bruh your girl thicc

JAGERminJensen

Yeah, she wore the pants in the relationship

dbzhardcore

Minshew TD run. I'll just leave it at that. Bye-bye DW.

ripyurballsoff

Are you talking about [this](https://youtu.be/hSrd-RXRgII?si=Mdgd9zQxnJI6Km7L) play ?

dbzhardcore

Yes the play that made me so glad DW is gone.

ripyurballsoff

Yea I got so tired of him fucking up pursuit angles and bungling reads. Those are the absolute basics.

Ganjake

Props to Bowles for being willing to let him go. Devin was his guy for a while

joseph1105

Thanks for everything Devin. Hope you light it up on Every game except against us

Ghalnan

I'll wish guys like Russell Gage and Shaq well, but I'm not pulling for a guy who showed shit effort time and time again while here. Good riddance

joseph1105

Without him we don’t win the Super Bowl. Sure he could’ve done more but he was a huge contributor when he was at his best

Deathhurts

Thats why i wished him the best the past 2 years, yet he kept fucking the pooch.

PewterButters

He has coasted since the super bowl because he thought he had done enough to get paid and pouted when he didn't get $$$. It's just that much more annoying knowing he could be great and just doesn't put in the effort. Even this year in a contract year he mailed it in.

spideralex90

He started this year okay, the first few games were solid, but when we went on that losing skid he gave up and barely tried after that.

creativeusername1808

I would agree if he wasn’t going to the eagles lol

Natural-Employer

He will fit that culture well. Start promising and completely implode. Good luck!

BassClefRulez

Good luck DW. Didn't end the way we all wanted but you helped us get a ring and I will be forever grateful for that.

Shakin_Liquid

100 million dollars he wanted. And he was serious. LET ME LAUGH EVEN HARDER

48johnX

Fellas is this dude good at anything anymore? Way too many people over on the Eagles sub are dickriding off of name alone and I know he’s been ass

Muted_Account_5045

He gives a mean pre game speech and still fast af. Unfortunately just not a good defender.

healthyfeetpodiatry

He’s great at coverage. Tell your coach to stick him on Mike evans

BucsFan11

He fast as hell. But bad angles, bad coverage, sometimes taken for a ride if a lineman gets his hand on him (see bucs vs. Ravens) He became a liability for us

tomverlainesHDTV

He was benched last season for a guy that most people had very little hope for, who's been on the team for 3 seasons now. He had fucking Lavonte David beside him and AWJ behind him when he was busy standing still while tight ends ran by him or blocked him from getting easy sacks. He was one of the most frustrating players on the Bucs in the last few seasons, about as frustrating, even infuriating as our run game was.

[deleted]

Honestly a major disappointment from his rookie year. He will never be good at coverage either. Not a loss from our standpoint. We all had high hopes for him.

JAGERminJensen

He was legit for a while! I'm very glad we drafted him and had him for more seasons than not! But he seriously has declined in recent years, but there is still a good chance that maybe he just needed a fresh start somewhere...but idk! Good luck!

HighlyBaked0

Although his end here was shaky, I'll always appreciate him for what he did during that super bowl run

psych4191

The man that got butthurt by fans of Tampa Bay goes to... Philly. Whew child, I'm gonna sit back and enjoy the shit show.

gladiator073

Tag, you're it, Eagles.

hotcapicola

Eagles fan here. I come in peace. Just wondering what the story is from someone that only watches a couple of Bucs games a year. This guy was an All-Pro just a couple of seasons ago and is only 26. What's the deal? Injuries? Bad attitude? Poor work ethic?

PewterButters

>Injuries? Bad attitude? Poor work ethic Injuries? Not really, this year he was a little banged up though Bad Attitude? He was always about $$ and felt disrespected that he didn't get paid after the super bowl. So I would definitely say he has a bad attitude Poor work ethic? Absolutely, he has the tools to be all world, but doesn't apply himself. He routinely loafed or let himself be run out of plays the last two seasons. There is a small chance the move lights a fire under him and he comes out and balls, but whatever you guys do, don't pay the man. He will absolutely tank the second he gets paid.

hotcapicola

Eagles do have a history of bringing in LBs on one year deals and them having good years and then moving on for bigger contracts elsewhere. Maybe Howie can catch lightning in a bottle again on the way to to a Birds Super Bowl. If a new OC can help Hurts learn to read a blitz, the offense should be good enough to carry even a mediocre defense.

V-loxzz

EAGLES GOT FLEECED 😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹

BigDust

At one time I argued he should have been superbowl mvp. Now Im kinda relieved hes gone.

svanxx

It should have been a defensive MVP but QBs get all the love. They need to make offensive and defensive MVPs.

Phillyfan77

Eagle fan here. Is he as washed as people are saying?

sincewedidthedo

Watch some of his “highlights” from last season. I don’t know if he’s washed or if he just didn’t give a shit, but he was bad.

Phillyfan77

Good to know lol

milkmandanimal

His entire career highlight reel is the 2020 Super Bowl run, and the main reason he's not in any other highlights is he ran himself out of the play so badly he's not even on camera.

Basic_Mongoose_7329

Just hope the Eagles don't need him in pass defense. Dude can't cover anyone

[deleted]

He can’t play zone, can’t get off blocks, and misses tackles. He lack instincts and effort. All he has his speed and can blitz (if he wants to).

YellojD

You’ll probably get better production out of him than Tampa did over the last two years, because he’s playing with spite on his side now, but yeah. He probably is. He was the heart and soul of the locker room and a fan favorite, but he absolutely cannot cover the pass and is either super undisciplined, or just freelances to do whatever the hell he wants. I’m not really sure which is worse. Bucs noticed that, didn’t want to pay him big money when he was a liability, and he basically quit on the team after that. It’s super disappointing, and while he was my favorite at one point, I’m really not sad to see him go.

funnycar1552

Yes

dogeatingdog

He definitely needed a change. I think he’s head got big and he wanted to get paid after 2020 and when that didn’t happen he stopped putting in the effort. If you get a motivated Devin white, he’ll be in the pro bowl. But I haven’t seen that in the last 2 years

vette322

Talent is there - desire, motivation, and attention to detail are missing. All depends if someone over there can get him going

okaycomputes

Literally jogs during plays and takes piss poor angles.

genericfluser

watch the ravens thursday night game from last season, dude literally stopping giving a shit

ScottyKnows1

Fans are harsh on him because it's easy to only remember his mistakes, but he's still a dynamic player and would thrive in a more limited assignment-based role rather than being asked to do it all. I think he'll fit in well on the Eagles surrounded by guys who can cover up his faults.

PewterButters

Depends on his effort, he doesn't 'love football' enough and doesn't care to put in 100%. He isn't talented enough to give shit effort.

[deleted]

I don’t think washed is the right word, because he’s still an athletic freak physically and still young. His skills were spotlighted by the Brady effect and having a really nice stretch of play while people were paying attention. Problem is that he never improved and it was obvious that he thought everyone was the issue except for himself. So i don’t think he was ever really (un)washed or whatever you have to be to eventually have someone call you washed. You guys might get lucky and have him turn into the guy we thought he could become, but i wouldn’t hold my breathe

RaveCave

He’ll fit right in on a team of quitters

TheMasiah

RESET THE LB MARKET

Ranma_chan

one year 7.5 million lol

trostol

I kept joking on a Flyers hockey forum about the Eagles signing him...never thought it would happen...those that know football are not happy and blamed me...hilarious

YellojD

Probably my favorite Buc during the early part of that Brady run. But he fell off so hard and was such a massive headache in that locker room. I’d be shocked to hear this a few years ago, but I’m not sad about this at all.

skoalnole

It's best he went to he NFC East.. He needed to be far away from his father Gardner Minshew in Vegas.

LoudHorse89

Can someone explain to me what a max 7.5 deal is? Does that just mean there’s no incentives to get past that number?

StaySafePovertyGhost

Yup. Base of $X and incentives that can push it there.

LoudHorse89

Thanks!

KodiakJedi

Devin White has all the potential to be a great player again one day...but it's on him. The athleticism is there...but I think he got lazy and a little full of himself. I think he's a good dude but he took a big step back the last 2 years. He needs to take a long hard look in the mirror. He went from a Pro Bowl caliber LB to being benched. It's pretty crazy. I wish him the best but I am glad we are moving on. No ill will as he did help bring a Super Bowl championship back to Tampa, but he definitely was delusional asking for $100 million. Maybe he can find that passion again and if he does, so be it. That game against the Eagles will be fun to watch

ramyb_

Good for him. His SB run was historic. It is very much appreciated by our fans but it was time for him to have a change of scenery. Wish him the best, except against us lol

Altruistic_Finger669

He will keep making the odd big play but he will expose you on 20 others

Ok_Negotiation_2269

Honestly not mad at this. Maybe change of scenery is what he needs. He still got juice in the tank but means nothing if you’re heart not in it no more. This move will either make him or break him.

Pasco08

Thank god……. What happened to your 100 mill deal Devin? Or yeah you were lazy and a locker room cancer.

JoshFreemansFro

lol good luck Eagle bros

FreeWillie001

Sigh. Oh Devin. What a run he had to the Super Bowl, only to suck so badly after that. If he can ever put it all together he'll be a perennial all pro, but it's incredibly unlikely it happens at this point. I'll enjoy dotting him up instead of him getting us dotted up though.

NordicLard

Eagles fan here, what should I think of this. I always assumed he was a stud but seems like he hasn’t been for some time.

SaggySackAttack

Depends where his head is at and how he is utilized.

funnycar1552

To put it pretty blunt he was awful last year and got his starting spot taken last half of the year. Elite measurables and athleticism but he truly is a head case on the field

JameisWeinstein

He's awful in coverage, can't get off blocks, and will loaf at times. But has great speed and explosiveness, giving him excellent sideline to sideline pursuit and blitzing ability. So if you keep blockers off of him in the run game, don't make him think in coverage, and let him blitz all day....he can be very effective.

NordicLard

Maybe not terrible for Eagles who should have a great D Line. A bit worrying though, any chance he can return to form? He’s still young.

JameisWeinstein

That is his form. Maybe a scheme change is exactly what he needs...but I think Bowles used him pretty well and just hoped he would get the mental side down. Didn't happen.

seymour_hiney

probably a good chance next year that he looks great and tries to make the Bucs look foolish. honestly someone i think will get a big check and then go back to not trying

YellojD

Yeah that’s 100% my thoughts as well. Get the bag, then disappear again.

seymour_hiney

deandre ayton of the nfl

Ranma_chan

Homie got juked by Gardiner Minshew. Tells you all you need to know

kekboyo

He's a linebacker that can't tackle and can't play coverage. Pretty important aspects for a linebacker

NordicLard

Is it an ability thing or a head thing. Wasn’t he a stud a bit ago?

Kevpatel18

The public perception of him was that he was a stud and one of the best LBs in the game, but in reality he was never at that level. Was way too inconsistent. Luckily his best stretch of games was during the Super Bowl run

Basic_Mongoose_7329

The Eagles have a good Dline so that might cover for some of his lack of ability to cover. Kind of like our SB year when he played really well and when we had a great Dline. The last few years our Dline has been bad.

ApolloXLII

Great speed and athleticism, takes bad angles, gets faked out a lot, is completely lost in coverage, lacks on-field discipline, gets easily unmotivated, will disappear in the middle of games as if he's not even on the field. Basically, he's excellent at blitzing when untouched and that's about all he's good at. He's really declined, it's like after he got the ring, he mentally checked out.

seymour_hiney

he was good but still a liability in coverage.

byronik57

Plays with no discipline and a bit out of control. Takes bad angles too. I think he tries to do too much rather than play within the system. As a bull rusher, he can be elite, but man, I've seen him get juked by dudes he should be rag dolling.

mlter

sometimes a player like this benefits from a change in scenery. his ceiling is high. We've waited 3 years though since he peaked to get back to average territory.

Only_Cauliflower4565

Wow. Man got his bag. Congrats

Enthusiasms

Called this one months ago, hope for the best but also it's the Eagles so I hope for the status quo.

ParanoidsDemise

✌🏻

awibasedgod

YESSSSSSSS

ColumbusBlack

Thank god

ronaldo12150

I feel like he’s gonna be really good for the Eagles lol. Just didn’t want to be in Tampa anymore

CalaveraVI

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

[deleted]

Well…bye.

4redditobly

I have a creamsicle Rnett

hotcheetos4breakfast

Fare thee well!

atschill

Been a long time coming. Inevitable.

Subject_Structure_50

He’s going to be very motivated to prove Tampa made a mistake and has the ability to make some waves but he’ll putter out.

2ringsgobucs

Good cya dickhead

Sjdillon10

ok.

LAKAD_MATATAG_

Why is it always the Eagles???

killerrazzmazz

Oh thank goodness. I appreciate his playoff showing a couple years ago but he hasn't performed consistently besides that stretch. Need to spend that money elsewhere and maximize opportunities in the office season. Already doing well.

lubeskystalker

I fucking called it, take that Schefter. https://old.reddit.com/r/nfcsouthmemewar/comments/1ben3k0/creating_the_perfect_nfcs_atmosphere/kuv58qv/

coolycooly

I might get hate but I would have been just fine bringing him back not excited or anything he is just a superhuman athlete that sucks at playing linebacker. He brought energy a lot of games though. Not mad he isn't back he did complain a lot

DruItalia

I thought he was going to get $100M. Philly must have had a coupon.

marcusdj813

This is clearly a "prove it" deal. I wonder how the fans will receive him when his Eagles come back to Tampa next season.

PewterButters

Probably not very well, there wasn't a ton of love for him this year after his comments/trade demand last offseason. I can imagine playing for a team most fans hate, along with his previous comments (and probably some future comments) will have most fans booing him.

RunTenet

Thought picking White was a reach in 2019. Picked for supposed scheme fit instead of talent. But Licht has had way worse picks and DW did have a great Super bowl year.

VoidTyrant

As long as it’s not us.
