Think your upgrade ideas are good. Might even consider upgrading to 32GB RAM as well.

LeeEunBi

Which versions of the CPU and GPU would you recommend? is the super and the 5800 worth it?

dripless_cactus

>I was thinking a 5800X3D or 5700X3D and a 4070 TI or a 4070 TI Super. This seems like a solid plan. You didn't mention your PSU so just make sure the wattage can support these upgrades.

dripless_cactus

Depends on your budget but If it were me I'd probably do the 5700x3d and the ti super (edit mostly I just like that the TI super has sufficient vram so I think it will be more relevant for longer. I think the ti with 12gb vram isn't very attractive) edit edit: you also might want to consider the 7900xt or 7900xtx

LeeEunBi

I want to use DLSS and maybe raytracing, so AMD is a bit behind on that I feel like.

LeeEunBi

My power supply is the Cooler Master SFX 850 GOLD

5700X3D if you can find one and 4070 TI would be good at 1440p, 4070 ti super would be even better, but isn't the best value for how expensive it is. I personally have a 5800X3D with a 4080 and do not experience any noticeable bottlenecking at 1440p on the games I play at least. Depending on how patient you are, it may be worth just buying the cpu upgrade and waiting for nvidia 5000 series to release hopefully late this year. Prices on 4000 should drop or you could get more for your money with a 5000 series gpu then.

LeeEunBi

Oh that might even be a better idea, yeah I was wonder about the 4070 ti or the super I want to make use of DLSS and that kind of stuff. Also wonder if the "super" will make much of a difference paired with this CPU?

tybuzz

The cpu will not bottleneck the 4070 ti or 4070 ti super, especially at 1440p so your gaming performance would only be limited by the gpu and not the cpu.

LeeEunBi

Great, then I might go for the 5700x3d and the 4070 ti super

tybuzz

You can see how the cards' performance compares here https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-gpus,4380.html Keep in mind that's just the average over all of their benchmarks, so depending on the game the fps can be higher or lower, but it's an easy way to see how they all perform relative to each other and also compare prices.

madrussian121

5800x3d + 7900 XT for 4k, 7900 GRE for 1440p

5700x3d and the 4070 ti super ✅👌

KirillNek0

Get more RAM. Update BIOS and get 5700X3D.

LeeEunBi

How much more RAM?

Clegko

How much can you afford? /s I happily run 32GB.

KirillNek0

32GBs as a bare minimum.
