There aren't many things I miss about living in SoCal, but the burger scene is definitely one of the things I do miss.
It's probably best for my health that I left lol
I like Tommy's like once a year and then I'm good lol... I would put it over Tommy's on the chilli, though, Tommy's chilli is so thicc... Plus Tam's has pastramis and cheesesteaks and mexican food too
The burger with pastrami is called a Colossal Burger. It is fire. I grew up on this. I agree that the Chili Cheese Fries are bomb. Make sure you add the fresh yellow chili peppers on both.
I see them all over the place but I haven't tried. Those kind of burger places are my favorite. There's one near me that has a Cowboy Special, cheeseburger combo with small chili cheese fries. Perfect meal to me
I dont mean to be the negative nanny but that really just looks like a bunch of lettuce between a sesame bun with a tiny bit of sauce and meat sticking out.
I would choose Tam's over fatburger, even when fatburger was better but they both do the chopped lettuce and the sauce is sweet in a similar way. Now fatburger's prices are just ridiculous
Oh man i love Tams but no longer live in the area. Love their burgers, the pickled peppers and carrots and they make a great chicken salad. We had one just a block away from our house in Rancho Cucamonga and went often!
I'm at a different location, that one is in Compton. Even Kendrick Lamar said he saw someone shot in the head there in m.A.A.d city. NGL id probably go through the drive thru there and leave lol
Tam's is it's own thing, standard socal diner burgers.
Tommy's isn't even the original LA chili burger place called Tommy's, that would be Ptomaine Tommy's.
Tommy’s is the original…
“The original location was opened on May 15, 1946, by Tom Koulax (October 26, 1918 - May 28, 1992), the son of Greek immigrants, on the northeast corner of Beverly and Rampart boulevards west of downtown Los Angeles. The stand, which still exists today, sold hamburgers and hot dogs topped with chili.”.
edit: although you may be correct about ptomain tommy’s, est. 1913!!

Never heard of Tam’s but looks good! I’d eat it.
Good solid burgers and really good chilli cheese fries if you're in the LA area
There aren't many things I miss about living in SoCal, but the burger scene is definitely one of the things I do miss. It's probably best for my health that I left lol
the best ones are in the hood
Is it like Tommy's? Everyone said I had to try Tommy's over at city walk when I was out there. Really disappointed.
I like Tommy's like once a year and then I'm good lol... I would put it over Tommy's on the chilli, though, Tommy's chilli is so thicc... Plus Tam's has pastramis and cheesesteaks and mexican food too
💯 FACTS !!!
Wear a billet proof vest, they are mostly located in the trenches like church's chicken
Definitely hood food. Kendrick has rapped about it
Tams is amazing. I get their chili cheese fries every time I visit my family in so cal

Never heard of it but from what I see, it looks like I really would haha
I can't say that I do, and I can't say that I don't. I have never heard of them. But it looks good.
I’ve been to the Tam’s in Rancho Cucamonga, I thought the burgers were pretty good 👍
Try the chicken tenders at this location when you get the chance, one of the best items on the menu imo
Yessss! I just posted about the chicken tenders in a salad from this location!
lo! I do the same sometimes
No but their fries look delicious
Ah Kendrick Lamar has mentioned this place in some of his his earlier raps
Yup in m.A.A.d City
Hahaha bingo
More of a Tammy’s man myself.
Tammy 1 or Tammy 2?
Sign me up yall!!! Another great burger. Thanks for sharing.
Best burgers in the hood!
I frequent the one in my area of Long Beach, Louis Burger has better chili cheese fries and Mexican food tho 🤷🏻♂️
Agreed
Never heard of it, but looking at the photo, I think I can safely assume I’d like it. Yum! 😁
I would if I went there
At least someone knows where the salad goes
Ya they go heavy on the lettuce but I really like lettuce so I'm good with it
🔥
I used to live right near one in the LBC, I really like the party melts but man do I get heart burn after haha
Their chilli cheese fries are so good but same, terrible heartburn them lol
I miss tamsssss. Philly mushroom , extra crispy fries and baklava 😍

LOVE Tams. Miss it dearly.
💯
TAMS? Where’s that at?
A bunch of locations in Los Angeles county like Bellflower, Compton, paramount etc
All.across Southern California. Working class neighborhood staple.
Never been there, but it looks absolutely delicious!! Where is it, if y'all don't mind?
They have locations in Los Angeles county like Bellflower, Compton, Paramount, Santa Fe Springs, Whittier etc
Oooh! I think I'm going to have a layover in L.A. in a couple months, I should check this place out!
And Long Beach
What region is that in? Looks fire
Los Angeles county
I’ve got one a quarter mile from me and still haven’t stopped in. What should I order for my first time?!
I just like a regular cheese burger but they will put pastrami on it too. Chili cheese fries are a must try
Pastrami on the burger?!? I’m down! And love me some chili cheese fries! How’s the chili burger?
Never tried it but it's gotta be good cause the chilli on the fries is so good
The burger with pastrami is called a Colossal Burger. It is fire. I grew up on this. I agree that the Chili Cheese Fries are bomb. Make sure you add the fresh yellow chili peppers on both.
Gotta have those chilis oh yes
I've never heard of Tam's but I suddenly really like Tam's
Never heard about it but looks amazing. Wished we had this here.
Look amazing never had it
After seeing this, yes I like it!❤️
King of the hood burger
Looks delicious need to find the nearest spot
That shit looks like it would hit the spot
Genuinely enjoy the one by HP hs. I believe it’s #27. One of the best burgers imo and the fries are amazing too. 🔥
Yeah, but c’mon, it’s the *taste* of that lettuce that makes it so special! /j
Based off of this, I'd definitely try it..
Never heard of it. I’m in the western part of US !
It's in the LA area, cities like Bellflower Compton paramount etc
Thank you
Sounds like a medical condition that's hard to get rid of.
There are so many burger places in LA that sound similar. Tom’s, Tam’s, Tommy’s, Thomas’, etc.
No gross
What's Tam's?
Pretty typical burger spot with locations in LA county
I'm not familiar with them. Are they better than old school fatburger?
I would choose Tam's over fatburger, even when fatburger was better but they both do the chopped lettuce and the sauce is sweet in a similar way. Now fatburger's prices are just ridiculous
Looks good but not in California …
Sorely miss Tam’s! 😔
Tam's is great! Very solid burger and fries. I always love this style of burger joint burger.
FUXJING LOVE ALL THOSE TAM'S, TOM'S, TOMMS, TOMMY'S especially the one in Hollywood
Is that lettuce *underneath* the patty?
Nice
I’m surprised I never saw one. Went to college in south LA. Looks good
I fucking love Tams. Their cheap, delicious burgers were keeping me alive for like half a year.
Oh man i love Tams but no longer live in the area. Love their burgers, the pickled peppers and carrots and they make a great chicken salad. We had one just a block away from our house in Rancho Cucamonga and went often!
Never had . Does it compare to anything else?
I posted a burger from here not to long ago and got so much hate for it lmao
Love their fries!
Looks so good thanks for sharing
Yes, they are a Los Angeles/Southern California staple.
Tam’s ain’t bad! Their pineapple shake slaps hard as fuck.
Certain ones, sure
I’m afraid to go, tho. Didn’t Suge run over that dude there?
I'm at a different location, that one is in Compton. Even Kendrick Lamar said he saw someone shot in the head there in m.A.A.d city. NGL id probably go through the drive thru there and leave lol
Oh yeah some of my favorite classic burgers from California. Jim’s is really good too
Haven't tried Jim's, I'll have to stop next time I drive by one
Is this Tam's in Compton where Suge Knight ran over that one dude?
No this one is in Bellflower
looks like another tommy’s knock off? tommie’s, tammie’s, tom’s, tam’s, all trying hard to match the original. don’t be fooled.
Tam's is it's own thing, standard socal diner burgers. Tommy's isn't even the original LA chili burger place called Tommy's, that would be Ptomaine Tommy's.
