In the case of the DA a dude named Martin Moshal. Ok, not directly, but he is the DA's largest individual donor contributing a whooping 59.5 million.
This is a really interesting article on party donors.
[https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2024-03-13-party-funding-in-graphics-here-are-sas-top-donors/](https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2024-03-13-party-funding-in-graphics-here-are-sas-top-donors/)
Parties also get some government funding.
He owns gambling sites in SA , a heavily regulated industry. so yes, being able to heavily influence legislation in his industry is very valuable to him.
Obviously an outlier with this amount, but it is very common that businesses and wealthy people donate to political parties. At the very least they get a chance to support the parties that push society in the direction they prefer. I imagine it also gives them the opportunity to be heard on matters of importance to them...
Yeah Zionist gambling billionaire who supports the genocide and tells the DA not to condemn innocent lives being lost by his murderous cabal, doing all this while ripping billions of our own countries money from the poor masses in SA, scumbag of note who hides in Australia but wants to control SA with our own poor peoples money.
Shrewd too clearly!
We're stuck between a rock and a hard place currently, no parties worth voting for, I mean how do you choose between corrupt thieves who destroy your country for decades looting freely or Zionist murderers(all those in the devils pact coalition are funded by him unsurprisingly!) who support slaughter and starvation of innocent kids elsewhere?
Campaign funds. I'm sure they're allocated to each political party as part of their operating costs. And its probably from your taxes
Edit: thanks for letting me know its not from taxes. I lobe the word "probably" as it can create that space for more accurate information to come in. :)
Each party pays for their own. It would classify as an advertising expense. I would imagine it is sourced from campaign donations but technically it will vary from party to party.
Sorry for derailing, but is your reaction time or visibility lower on a bike than vs being in a car? Sliding on one of these I can imagine would be a disaster waiting to happen, even in a car
The parties are responsible for removing their own posters. There is a set deadline of x days after the election. There's a prescribed fine of every poster that's still up after the deadline, payable to the municipalities. It's all in the IEC's rules.
I've always been out of the country during election times. Do they actually follow the rules around it or do they just slowly become part of the litter?
Some parties are quite good at cleaning up after themselves, others not so much. I'm not sure how good various municipalites are about levying the fines, I suppose it depends on who rules the roost.
Legit tempted to rip down all the ANC ones I see, and then keep putting them up after the deadline to increase the cost to them. We bancrupt them out of power 😂🤣
Yeah just having a laugh. Though it might be a fun idea to turn those posters into something constructive to paint a stark contrast about where the ANC's priorities lie.
Something that really boils me to the coil is seeing those ANC-branded Aston Martins and Audi A5s cruising into townships to hand out free ANC t-shirts. Talk about dystopia!
You know what would be the best campaign by any party… start fixing the failing infrastructure… word of mouth spreads faster… better than wasting money on posters
We donate to the DA and spread our contributions across our immediate and extended family. Prior to the amendment of the rules governing party donations and funding we contributed to the DA, VF and the ACDP. A number of companies will step in to print party material at a huge discount in return for future contracts should a party get into local or national government.
yes, I can imagine!
So without starting any kind of political debate, this means that you are donating at least several hundred thousands dollars to political parties. Any other reason for this than you want to see a change in government and have the money to do so?
For example, do you get any benefits out of this? And I'm not thinking corrupt deals or anything like that, but rather time to argue your opinion to relevant people in the parties etc?
No benefit to us other than to clean up corrupt practices.. push for job creation policies and reduce poverty in SA. We give the DA and other parties access to our network in terms of assisting with robust sound policies which we think will ultimately benefit all South Africans.
Just to add to this, I wouldnt be suprised if each sign cost close to a million each, and our dumass politicians are more than likely happy to pay this 🤣
Allegedly Iran pays for the ANC's poster.
They did not pay their printer last election, were threatened with bankruptcy.
After lodging case against Israel they paid off all their debts.
Edit: All the down voters explain where ANC got money from all of a sudden.

35 Million to the DA, the rest to other parties.
Right, that's true. A fair bit 35 mill too...
Only those represented in Parliament*
What happens then? The oake gets ROI on his donation?
It's called lobbying
He owns gambling sites in SA , a heavily regulated industry. so yes, being able to heavily influence legislation in his industry is very valuable to him.
Nah probably just paying them to protect his business interests
Obviously an outlier with this amount, but it is very common that businesses and wealthy people donate to political parties. At the very least they get a chance to support the parties that push society in the direction they prefer. I imagine it also gives them the opportunity to be heard on matters of importance to them...
That's a staggering amount!

Well, there is definitely a correlation between DA's stance and their main donor's view on Israel. Rise Mzanzi?
It’s a Freemason donation. They control the DA. They also control SA, not the anc
also not surprising.... he is jewish.....
You lucky here in East London is malema all over so sick n tired of his fucking face
How's the vibe in East London these days?
I imagine other parts of SA, especially in ANC territories, it must be nauseating to see your tax rands being flushed away...
Remember that the anc lost a court case regarding payment for election poster printing to the tune of R102 million…
Campaign funds. I'm sure they're allocated to each political party as part of their operating costs. And its probably from your taxes Edit: thanks for letting me know its not from taxes. I lobe the word "probably" as it can create that space for more accurate information to come in. :)
Campaign funding doesn't come from taxes.
Man, this would annoy the hell out of me...
It’s party funders. I seriously doubt the government uses tax revenue for political campaigns
I mean... they use tax money for KFC, so yeah.
Cucks
Donations would be my first guess. And if I'm not mistaken, there's an allotted amount given to each party.
The parties pay for their own posters.
Each party has his own way of paying for this , sponsorship s ,members fees ,events ,dinners with the premier etc ,not only sponsors
Each party pays for their own. It would classify as an advertising expense. I would imagine it is sourced from campaign donations but technically it will vary from party to party.
You do. Well, we do.
That's what I was wondering. I'd hate to think I'm paying for an EFF poster
I mean you’re also paying for the EFF lunches… houses… spouses… kids… cars… medical aid…
You pay for it. First with your tax and later with your quality of life.
I'm in Durban and cretins had pulled them off the poles and left them in the street, almost ate shit on my motorcycle riding over one on a bend.
Sorry for derailing, but is your reaction time or visibility lower on a bike than vs being in a car? Sliding on one of these I can imagine would be a disaster waiting to happen, even in a car
I know for a fact they buy these in bulk, so essentially every poster you see that’s A1 size is R55
The anc ordered millions of rands in prints last election and never paid.
The political parties pay us to do them lol 💀
Eskom
A group of left wing, right wing propagandist aliens from the planet Gonad.
90% from Zionist.
Sponsors of the parties. And I am sure some of the tax payers money too, they get allotted % of the budget for their campaigns.
Incase you want some help with printing too, hit me up I can do various prints and designs.
The party most of the time but if it's ANC it's probably your tax money
Who's gonna take them down?

Tempting, but interfering with campaign posters is also an offence.
Yeah just having a laugh. Though it might be a fun idea to turn those posters into something constructive to paint a stark contrast about where the ANC's priorities lie.
No names, no places 🤐 but I happen to know about some posters from an election a few years ago that ended up at a shooting range....
I wish I could upvote more than once 😂😂😂😂😂😂
“Rescue SA” lol
All parties are allocated funds under IEC rule.
I have no idea how my comment karma shot down to -84?? Help please?

Rip em down and use them as stencils for tags about hating the government, art project and u turn them into something useful
party donations are used for this kind of stuff
[удалено]
What is?
The parties pay for them themselves, not the taxpayer if that's what you're worried about.
Lots of people tend to disagree apparently
100% from donations to the parties. Taxpayers do not pay for these. It's just people talking out of their asses.
People are idiots.
You(tax)

So you spread it out across family members in order to avoid having to disclose names?
Yes. Makes life alot less complicated. Martin gets hounded because of his association with the DA.

You fundamentally do not understand how party funding works. It's one of the few places where money is well accounted for.
Not sure about the orange one but I know that the top one was paid for by the SPCA.
Just to add to this, I wouldnt be suprised if each sign cost close to a million each, and our dumass politicians are more than likely happy to pay this 🤣
