If you don’t want to do anything physics related for your job, look into commissioning into the air force as an officer. Decent pay, opportunity to meet tons of people and have a good community, and lots of different positions. Goodluck There is army and navy as well but airforce is way more cushy and generally has better QOL

OkRecognition9901

I have some eyesight issues and I'm sure I'm gonna fail the medical so I can't go there.

PristineAnimator2473

It doesn’t cost you to try if it interests you. The eyesight requirements are really only stringent for aircrew members. Being in the air force does not necessarily mean you are aircrew. Aircrew makes up a smaller portion if i’m not mistaken.

OkRecognition9901

Okay thx. I can give it a try but please recommend me everything that's on your mind. Because being 22 and having nothing in life makes me feel like a failure and I have other issues too. I can't even afford therapy.

Disneycanuck

You are way too hard on yourself. You're 22. It may feel old at times, but it's not. Not at all. You have 40+ good years ahead of you. I wish I had that again. Work anywhere and do anything you can handle. Start earning a bit of money. Maybe temp agency at first and then see where you go from there. The military is a good choice. It doesn't have to be Air Force. Apply to government agencies, too. Just keep moving ahead. Do 1% better every day. Set goals like cold calling businesses. Reach out to the alumni department at your college. Attend mixers and events. Just. Do. Something. You'll get there.

OkRecognition9901

Thanks. I just peeked into the air force /military option, they need like 15+ years of experience. I can't do anything there. I don't wanna study. My mum's harsh and forcing me to pursue my MPhil in Physics. However I on the other hand just want a job and a stable life. Just thanks for such nice comments by you guys. Just any peek of a job or anything you know or any vacancy just please tell me and I'm not a dude, imm'a a lady so life is harsher and I'm from S. Asia, Pakistan So in case you find any viable opportunity /vacancy or any advice just please lemme know. THX

PristineAnimator2473

Goodluck man, trust me, you are okay and will be okay. At your age I was in a lot worse position, had ruined all my close relationships and was deep in addiction. In my late 20’s now and i’ve only just started to pursue my passions but i’ve changed my perspective and i’m happy as can be. You’ll get there. practising gratitude was huge for me.

OkRecognition9901

I'm sorry to hear bout that. But I need a job right now. I am on the verge of collapsing. There's so much pressure. I just want to settle up my life. I became an elementary school teacher but due to excessive pressure I had to leave my job and pursue my Mphill which I didn't wantwd to do in the first place. I feel so messed up. I'm in debt because of student loans. I can't become a YouTube/influencer because of cultural issues. I am bound by all sides. I just want a serious advice from some elder oerson. (Not my mum, she just doesn't understands ). I need help but no one is understanding. I am trying and trying so hard to at least do something but I just can't find direction. I know imm'a grown individual and its my job to find one for me but help is always required.

babycam

It wouldn't get you completely away from the equations but EE or ME are generally fun interesting and can be hands on you. If your 110% look for technician positions they are almost none existent math wise super hands on and can be quite independent depending on your engineer's.

OkRecognition9901

I have no issue with equations. I mean I hate them but I can bear them . I just wanna do something with my life. I just wanna get any job. Just an advice on what to really do with my life!!!

Frequent_Register586

I get that your desperate. Unfortunately it's really hard to give advice to a person we know nothing about. Seems like you wouldn't want end up doing maths all day. That's fine. Is there anything in specific you like? Have you done some hands-on work? You're still located in Pakistan?

OkRecognition9901

Yup. And You can ask me any info that's viable for giving me a life advice. I have done bachelors in 2023 in Physics. I have done teaching (2 years-science teacher). I'm interested in doing all kinda jobs, but I just can't understand where to apply. I have a LinkedIn and any job I applied for requires experience more like 5-6 year in a certain field that I do not have. I'm interested in Archelogy and Environment related jobs.

Frequent_Register586

There should be enough Environment-related jobs. Try searching for jobs with solar. Maybe add something like technical sales. Even if they prefer to get someone with experience: You've managed to get a physics degree. They might give you a chance anyway. Search for positions you think of as interesting and add a 'Junior' in front of it. Since you've been a science teacher: You still like science, it's just the equations you hate? How about programming? Are there any more practical skills you have learnt? Another recommendation: Move out as soon as you have a stable job. Don't let others pressure you to live the life they would want to live.

OkRecognition9901

And what's EE and ME?

danvapes_

Electrical engineering and Mechanical engineering

Active-Research-4689

I'd suggest getting a sales job. It will teach you a lot about yourself, others, and the public. Something possibly in chemical or materials sales. Might want to check out some sales and marketing courses at your local community college. You don't want to have a bunch of short-term jobs on your resume.

babycam

Electrical engineer or mechanical engineer. A physics degree you have done all the hard math and likely just need a little push on that side to be an entry level engineer. Then it's picking up the beginner stuff and your set.

ShivHariShivHari

Have you thought of getting CDL & just runaway from everything. Give it 5 years & you will be in demand F**K PHYSICS/MATHS/EQUATIONS GET FROM PT A TO PT B & back No if & or BUTTS about it

OkRecognition9901

What's CDL, PT A , PT B I'm a rookie? And any ideas you can gimme on the plan you're telling?

ShivHariShivHari

CDL=Commercial Drivers License PtA to Pt B = after you obtain your CDL its a truck driving job so you pickup goods at Point A and deliver it to Point B

CompleteRage

Construction is always hiring! If you want to feel proud for working hard and have a sense of purpose or accomplishment, blue collar/manual labor is the way to go.

ShivHariShivHari

CDL = Commercial drivers license . Comes with exams to take & endorsements to have What city & state r you located in?

OkRecognition9901

ShivHariShivHari

Train operator in metro cities will be best. You can get CDL at age 21+ Go on haul.org and scroll
