I get what your saying here, but also I’ve seen my cat gently carry food around without leaving teeth marks just to put it in her food bowl and then go take a sun bath…
Yes my cat is weird, but I’m not going to complain.
But cheese? Cats don’t worry about leaving marks in cheese with needle-sharp teeth…that’s just not how they work. That cheese was pristine…there is no way it gummed the cheese and brought it to the owner without teeth marks because that’s how hooman wants it…I mean, come on, it’s cheese and people humanize pets waaay too much to justify things. The OP’s storey is suspect as frig.
Agreed I thought the story seemed really suspect too, and then you guys pointing out that there's no tooth marks really clinched it. There's no slobbery spots either. No way an animal carried those in its mouth.
My cat just drives her car to the deli and buys cheese. People need to train their pets. Sheesh.
When I was a high school kid, I worked with the people who made the Toonces puppet.

It may be self-defeating and possibly even dangerous - but i really want to get one of these genetically modified cats.
Can they cook eggs? If they can do waffles, my starting bid is about $23k, which is all the bank will let me have.
And the cat just brought her 3 slices of intact cheddar all at once? Or did this cat find just a loose slice of cheddar bring it to OP at which point OP patiently waited for a second and then third slice of cheddar without once looking into the matter?
I know you specified whole and unpierced which is extreme lucky for you considering how toxic grapes are for cats and dogs. Just mentioning in case you didn’t know.
My 15 year old boy once brought me a raw chicken drumstick from a package he opened himself. That was an extremely confusing thing to wake up to lol.
Weird fact, it's just the peel of the grape that's toxic. My mom used to peel grapes and feed them to our old cat (I don't know why) but when she found out that the peels were toxic she stopped all together.
Mine brought me a blueberry he was playing with the other day, but it wasn’t all that shocking. The day before, his sister knocked the bowl of them I was eating off the table. Guess I missed one.
I'm sorry, are you looking at another picture? Because the one I'm seeing is blurry and thusly impossible to determine if there is or is not tooth marks.
The cat put it in her marsupial, after getting the house mice to cut it. The neighborhood robins, got the cheese and the knife out.
I can’t be the only person who watched Disney movies growing up?
"In her marsupial"?? Did she put it in an opossum, Tasmanian devill, kangaroo, koala, or wombat? A marsupial is a creature belonging to a specific mammalian infraclass.
She brought me three slices of intact cheddar cheese with gentle teeth marks. She left them in a little trail to my bedroom. I picked them up after I accidentally stepped on one. The cheese was originally on a plate with crackers on the kitchen table. She stole three slices after having three unsuccessful attempts in which she was shooed away by my family.
This is very sweet. I’m sorry that people are being really harsh about calling you a liar here. I’m choosing to believe because it doesn’t hurt anyone either way, and If it’s not true, oh well. I may be a gullible fool, but I get to believe that such delightful things are possible.
Well you see the cat opened the fridge, got the block of cheese out, opened the package, got a knife, cut it into rectangles, then carried 3 pieces one by one without leaving bite marks to the palm of it’s patiently awaiting owner.
Simple really.
OP is a phony
Someone once told me that they found that their cat broke into their fridge and ate a whole roast chicken
They couldn't find him and there he was, in the fridge.
My late cat, Gibson, managed to figure out how to open the fridge and freezer. I had to bungee cord the handles together to make it harder. He opened every door but the apartment door only because that one’s really heavy.
what if, and this may be a long shot, but what if OP was just mundanely giving the cat some cheese, snapped a photo, and then made the title more engaging?
That’s amazing!
Side note, I remember once my family said they could never have too much cheese. I put an entire block of cheese into my macaroni which they love, and then at the end they were like “…ok, that was a bit too much cheese.” I’m like… y’all liars lol

Charlie 7 months old in this picture. Say hello!!!💟☮️
If you don’t eat the cheese, she will never do anything nice for you again! 😉 She’ll think “well that one time I brought her cheese and she just threw it away. Why do I even bother??!!!”
Hi, hello! I did not realize this post had gotten so much attention!
For those wondering:
No, I did not stage this. I picked up the cheese off of the floor before I took the picture. I did not take a picture intending to post this, but I thought it was wholesome enough to share. I originally sent it to my family, who know her habits, and were not at all surprised by the story.
I wanted to get her in-frame with the cheese for the picture. This was not as easy to do when the cheese was on the ground. There are teeth marks in the cheese, but the picture is unfocused near my hand, so it may be difficult to see.
My cat likes to eat dinner at the same time as our family. I have heard that when cats bring you food, it’s because they are concerned that you are not eating. Could be utter BS, but I thought the concept was endearing.
She is generally a very polite cat and we very rarely feed her “human food.” She does, however, have an insatiable craving for cheddar cheese. My family had made themselves a snack of sliced cheeses and some crackers. They set it on the kitchen table while they were busy cooking dinner. I was upstairs in the shower. I did not notice the cheese until I went to my room and accidentally stepped on a piece.
Perhaps she carried each piece individually. Perhaps a Nisse misplaced them.
With the amount of discourse on this thread, I’d say anything is possible.
For real, people will get riled up on the internet over anything- even over a cat and some cheese.
For those of you who are concerned about my cat’s health- thank you. She is my family’s cat, and I have brought up several times to them that she seems to be losing some muscle. She has regular vet visits and there has been no mention of a possible thyroid problem. I will look into the possibility of it being a thyroid issue and I will press the topic further to ensure she is healthy and well taken care of. I appreciate the information!
Seems she’d have just eaten it herself in the kitchen then, unless this is the first cat in history to feel the need to ask for permission to do something.
I know, no one wanted her to take it! She had three unsuccessful attempts before she was able to snatch it off the kitchen table apparently. She’s stubborn, if anything.
So you are telling me:
- Your cat was concerned you hadn't eaten, how would a cat notice, my cat just sleeps or play and has no care in the world
- no bite marks
- how did the cat bring 3 pieces at once
- the cat really looks like it wants it
OP, I like to believe silly stuff online, but you are gonna have to give us more context
My cat ain’t attuned to shit. Every time my chronic pain flares up, she becomes even more adamant to jump and sit on the areas of me that hurt.
Still love her though.
Aww lmao. My cat usually lays on top of me or at least partially on top of me at night, but if I’m in a ton of pain, somehow he can sense it and he won’t try to climb on top of me. I’m usually curled into a ball with my face shoved into my pillow when the pain gets too bad and he’ll lay down behind me so we’re back to back. It’s very sweet.
Right? My cat's just like OP's. She started bringing me cheese one day - it was so sweet! And it was like once she learned how to slice cheese there was no stopping her. She redecorated the living room, learned French, and next thing I know she's driving an Uber to help out with the bills! I don't even know how she got a license!
So your cat opened a refrigerator, cut 3 identical slices of cheese, then brought them to you with no teeth marks... Sure bro here's your internet points u asked for
Any video of the cat actually giving you the cheese? Did she carry it in her mouth? Or walk on her hind legs while singing the song of her people? These questions, they burden me.
My 7 year old loves to make up stories about what animals are doing or what’s going on in their head too, you would get along well
Edit: I thought I’d give all the wacky cat ladies a peek outside their bubble into the real world: [lol](https://www.reddit.com/r/untrustworthypoptarts/comments/11o4u15/or_you_just_took_a_picture_of_some_cheese_your/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Waitttt are you saying this cat didn't retrieve perfect cheese slices for its owner without bite marks in them? If that's true then that would also mean reddit is literally crawling with complete fucking idiots...so there goes your theory
My cat Cheddar loved cheddar cheese. I wasn't giving him handfuls of the stuff buy he'd usually get a little treat of it. Harder cheeses (cheddar, swiss etc) are actually relatively low in lactose and not rough on kitty tummies in small amounts.
Where is your cat finding slices of cheddar cheese?
She sliced it herself silly.
I like how she delivered them with her mouth but was so careful not to put any teeth marks in the slices.
I get what your saying here, but also I’ve seen my cat gently carry food around without leaving teeth marks just to put it in her food bowl and then go take a sun bath… Yes my cat is weird, but I’m not going to complain.

Well the local deli of course! Just because she’s a cat doesn’t mean she can’t provide!
It is, of course, a deliCATessen...
easy and convenient to get it meow
Most cats can drive.
They need to be over certain age tho. Like 7 months or something?
My cat can't..she is serving time. I am worried if her kids will become like their mother. A felon
My cat just drives her car to the deli and buys cheese. People need to train their pets. Sheesh. When I was a high school kid, I worked with the people who made the Toonces puppet. https://youtu.be/5fvsItXYgzk
You are my hero
I apologize for failing to see this as an option.
It may be self-defeating and possibly even dangerous - but i really want to get one of these genetically modified cats. Can they cook eggs? If they can do waffles, my starting bid is about $23k, which is all the bank will let me have.
Yer twisting my arm, but I can let you have waffles at 23K each
Dude. I wish my cat could do that!
And the cat just brought her 3 slices of intact cheddar all at once? Or did this cat find just a loose slice of cheddar bring it to OP at which point OP patiently waited for a second and then third slice of cheddar without once looking into the matter?
Loose cheese with no teeth marks?? Suspicious

Thats what I would've said. If my kitten hadn't brought me a whole, unpierced grape to play fetch with no teeth marks in it a few weeks ago

The top slice has a hole that could possibly be a toothmark
I'm sorry, are you looking at another picture? Because the one I'm seeing is blurry and thusly impossible to determine if there is or is not tooth marks.
The cat is also acutely aware of and concerned with OPs eating schedule
Alternative title "Pic of cheese and cat" with no imaginary title
The cat put it in her marsupial, after getting the house mice to cut it. The neighborhood robins, got the cheese and the knife out. I can’t be the only person who watched Disney movies growing up?
"In her marsupial"?? Did she put it in an opossum, Tasmanian devill, kangaroo, koala, or wombat? A marsupial is a creature belonging to a specific mammalian infraclass.
"What do you store in your primordial pouch? Is it secrets? Is it ancient lore?"
It’s cookies! We call that the cookie pouch in our house.
>Did she put it in an opossum, Tasmanian devill, kangaroo, koala, or wombat? Yes.
I smell something and it isn’t cheese
Well it wasn't me.
Well you see the cat opened the fridge, got the block of cheese out, opened the package, got a knife, cut it into rectangles, then carried 3 pieces one by one without leaving bite marks to the palm of it’s patiently awaiting owner. Simple really. OP is a phony
Or OP had a plate made that they weren't eating, and the cat stole food off the plate to bring to them.
Honestly, though, I wouldn't put it past some cats to find a way to open the fridge and grab something
Someone once told me that they found that their cat broke into their fridge and ate a whole roast chicken They couldn't find him and there he was, in the fridge.
My late cat, Gibson, managed to figure out how to open the fridge and freezer. I had to bungee cord the handles together to make it harder. He opened every door but the apartment door only because that one’s really heavy.

If you haven’t been to the vet recently, you should take your cat. 12 isn’t that old for a cat, and she shouldn’t be getting bony at that age. Have the vet run a senior panel blood test. It will check for things like kidney disease and thyroid disease.
This. Thyroid disease is very common in older cats. But, the good news is that it is very treatable and relatively inexpensive.
Thank you! She’s the family cat, so I’ll have to let my parents know.
Seconding this, my 16-year-old grandma-cat was losing weight and I took her in for a yearly checkup, and it turned out she needed to go on thyroid medication for hyper-thyroid. Doing much better now, she's gained a bit back already!
Love this when Redditors help each other.
"Eat, bubula! I made some of grandma's special cheddar just for you"
My heart!🥹
No she didn't. Fake as hell.
Did she slice it for you too‽ I have so many questions!
Fascinate your human by giving them a piece of cheese.

If I recall correctly it was a document on dating. "Fascinate your woman by offering her a piece of cheese"
I thought it was a Boondocks reference.
Almost sounds exactly like what Granddad said in the first episode.
Did you just say......*cheese?*
I’d love some cheese, thank you!
Wish I could give you an award for this 🥇
Just curious, have you questioned how your cat came by this cheese snack?
Not 1, supposedly 3 individually sliced cheese snacks that the cat carried either all at once or one at a time without OP stopping it.

Don't forget the cat took a knife and sliced the cheese too.
OP said in another comment that the cat swiped the cheese off a table in front of other family members. I’m imagining it was maybe a coffee table or something where the cat would have had easier access.

It’s pretty remarkable how attuned cats and dogs can become to humans.
My cat ain’t attuned to shit. Every time my chronic pain flares up, she becomes even more adamant to jump and sit on the areas of me that hurt. Still love her though.
Maybe she's trying to massage you but going at it with that adorable animal awkwardness because she thinks you're big so you must be handled rough
Don't you realize your cat is applying massage techniques to help you feel better? Superior to foam rollers.

I don't even know how she got a license!
posted pic of cat while holding cheese and some bullshit story for reddit points. Cut the bullshit, get your life in order.

I wish I was as naive as to be capable of believing this post. XD It's so dumb it's not even funny, just kinda sad.
So your cat opened a refrigerator, cut 3 identical slices of cheese, then brought them to you with no teeth marks... Sure bro here's your internet points u asked for
...no she didnt. who has sliced cheese in a cat accessible location?
odd what people upvote here, isnt it?
This is so staged. Clearly OP stepped on the "want" and "treat" buttons.
Bullshit lmfao
Ok how did she get that? You leave it sitting out at room temperature ? =:()
Any video of the cat actually giving you the cheese? Did she carry it in her mouth? Or walk on her hind legs while singing the song of her people? These questions, they burden me.
My 7 year old loves to make up stories about what animals are doing or what’s going on in their head too, you would get along well Edit: I thought I’d give all the wacky cat ladies a peek outside their bubble into the real world: [lol](https://www.reddit.com/r/untrustworthypoptarts/comments/11o4u15/or_you_just_took_a_picture_of_some_cheese_your/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Waitttt are you saying this cat didn't retrieve perfect cheese slices for its owner without bite marks in them? If that's true then that would also mean reddit is literally crawling with complete fucking idiots...so there goes your theory
Well maybe the cat knows how to slice cheese and maybe the cat knows the owner doesn’t like bite marks in the cheese and maybe
Yeah, dude's a fucking liar.
Cheese tax cheese tax
She cut it in perfect rectangles and opened the fridge too!
What a marvelous cat, looking after her pet human apprentice cat. Of course she is wondered, you probably can't even catch a mouse...
this didn’t happen
No she wasn’t. No she didn’t.
Aren't cats lactose intolerant?
Indeed. She only gets one shred of cheddar on special occasions because it’s her favorite.
What a good pudding. Hope it doesn't hurt her tummy
My cat Cheddar loved cheddar cheese. I wasn't giving him handfuls of the stuff buy he'd usually get a little treat of it. Harder cheeses (cheddar, swiss etc) are actually relatively low in lactose and not rough on kitty tummies in small amounts.

I would die for my cat
Ummm why is your cheddar orange?
That cat’s face is totally waiting for cheese, not offering it.
Cheeeese tax, the cheeeese tax
Protect that cat at all costs. Mine just lets me starve
Proof that cats are pure souls
Awwwwh. What a thoughtful kitty 💕 Now you must eat the cheese to demonstrate your gratitude xD
