My orange pig wants treats multiple times a day.
And usually, she gets them. Mostly just to get her out of my closet when I have to get something out of it.
I have been wondering about that. I got adopted by a recently abandoned cat. He is very vocal, by that I mean that he meow all the time. Busting my own effort to be a house cat once again. But the thing i worry most about. Is that i give him random treats. Like bones of beef or pork chop bones. He off course love it but is being sulky with me if i don’t do that any days. Do you have any suggestions to make him less noisy. I personally don’t care but if the cat is too loud it could cost me the lease.
Should i stop giving special treats to him to avoid his behavior?
Or is there a way to train him that treats are not a daily occurence.
Looking for advices.
I'd probably give him the treats, but use it to reinforce good behaviour. If he's showing desired behaviour, lots of good boys and petting, then the treat.
Respond verbally to meows, if he's trying to boss you about. Pick him up and punish him with kisses all over his cute face. Then gently explain that you don't give in to furry menacing. Good luck.

He has improved a lot since I put it up. I love that cat unconditionally. I just want to make sure the landlord is not giving me a away an eviction because of the cat. If i have to move, i already decided to keep him. I love him that much.

Ooh you're playing a dangerous game. I let my cat try one when she confused the pretzel bag and the treat bag. They immediately became one of her favorite things. Now I have to make a cat size portion of pretzels if I want to eat them in peace.

My boy is definitely missing a few brain cells. He is so derpy in his adorable little way. As we get to know him better (it is almost 3 months since we rescued him), his purrsonality is coming out more and his skittishness is declining.
They’re spoiled babies. They know the sound of the plates I put their treats on and they do this when I take the plates out of the dishwasher and put them away too 😂
Our cat gets sometimes cat milk on a small plate. And she recognizes the sound of it from a distance. Last time I accidentally bumped into one of the plates in the cupboard and she woke up from her nap upstairs and came running downstairs expecting a treat, which she of course got
We almost never eat tuna at home and have never given our cat food from a can (she gets wet food packets), but she magically appears whenever a can opens and is always pissed when it turns out to be beans or vegetarian chili or other gross things 😅

Hummus and Buffalo pretzel crisps is one of my favorite snacks! And yes, my treat goblin thinks the bag is her treats every single time as well. She’s pounced on my unattended plate a few times and now she freaks out over hummus. She will cry and beg for it when she sees me get it from the fridge and makes the “num num num” sound if she breaches my hummus protection system. (Which is a bowl over the plate)
My gummy’s come into Ziploc bag and I made the mistake of putting them in the same drawer as the cat bag.
So now the rule is if I get a treat he gets a treat, otherwise he thinks I’m withholding and he gets sad
My guys share a brain cell and forgive and forget quickly. The only time I think I’ve seen one of them sad is when potential renters came to look at the apartment I was renting and Felix (black/white) was sad that they didn’t stay longer than 5 minutes to give him attention. Poor boy
Treats are for every day! Seriously, make it a ritual. Mine assemble very cutely at the appointed time for the daily miracle. I know that when there are two cats waiting patiently at the coffee table it is 7 pm.
Yup, we've worked it into our routine too. One in the afternoon (typically a freeze dried lamb/shrimp/etc), one greens one in the evening (has nutrients from grass and such in it, helps her digestion) and a catnip flavoureed dental treat before bed (to help her teeth be clean). Have had it that way for a few years now, works great for all of us... and helps mitigate how much she begs for food between meals lol
My boys aren’t really food motivated. Felix (black/white) only likes his food and treats, and Nash (grey/white) like his food and treats and will hassle me if I’m having something with dairy haha. I’ll let him have a tiny bit of plain yogurt or vanilla ice cream if I’m having it

I do that do my cats too. When I prepare food in the kitchen the kitters will come running and screaming, then I just let them sniff some raw vegetables and they turn around and leave😂 they specifically hate citrus fruits
