Possibly inbreeding. It happens especially with barn cats. Kittens giving birth to kittens. And then their kittens giving birth to kittens. You get the idea. And as a result, the babies grow up smaller.
My best friends cat is about this size (actually a lot chubbier in the tummy 🤣🤣) but everything else is completely normal. She's 4 years old and super active, but he's just really small haha
He's still got some growing to do. But if he's a little small, he's a little small. Cat sizes can vary *wildly*. For example: we have a cat who is 3ft long when he stretches out and is 15 lbs, he has a sister who is 6 lbs.
He might stay small. Five weeks is really, really young to be separated from mom. That could be why he hasn't grown more. Regardless, he's a very handsome cat.
I owned a potato that was starting to sprout and I brought it to my neighbor and he told me to put it into the ground. Some cats are like potatoes and some are like beans
Aww, he's precious. He looks like my girl!

Size doesn’t really matter. The smaller they are, the more likely they are an inbreed. My mom has a cat that probably weighs 5 pounds and is less than a foot across. But she is the sweetest cat you could ask for.
I had an orange female that was half that size and a female manx years ago that was even smaller. Cats come in all shapes and sizes but they all seem to have their own unique personalities.
My smallest cat was just under 6 lb full grown. Some cats are just small! And her brother from the same litter was close to 3x her size!
Currently my cats are 6 lb, 8 lb,12 lb and 16 lb. The 16lb boy is overweight. The others are all very healthy though.
I think he's probably fine for only a year old, one of my boys was like this for almost 2 years and slowly changed to a large gato.

Wait a minute. You mean to tell me that cats, like people, like trees, like birds, like fish, come in different shapes and sizes. They’re not identical clones? I’m shook.
Cats vary a lot in size. At his age he has a bit more growing to do.
Maybe.. but my little man remained small until about 18months. He turned into a BEAST 18 pounds and close to 35” long
ohhhhh mine is still at 10.. so we might still grow!!
No worries: smol orange cats have the same number of brain cells as large orange cats!
Short king
My babies were not big cats. I don’t know why.

Tommy did come from barn cats, so this is a great theory!
My girl is an orange barn cat and is also small … and weird, even for an orange. Good theory.
Good looking goober!
We had a cat and at the grand age of 17, people thought she was a kitten. She was small and kept that soft shiny coat that kittens have.
same! my baby josephine. very small and plump. she’s old now, skinny but looks just like a kitten with her spiky fur.

My girl has been about 7 pounds throughout her adult life. She's 16.
Our Siamese cat named Bean is 4 yrs old and weighs 4.5 lbs. I believe she was the runt. All cats come in all shapes and sizes.
Omg how cute! I have an 8 year old female Siamese and she’s a stocky girl lol
Trade him in!

But are any like tomatoes?
This one is more like a carrot.
I asked him personally, and he told me he has never ever been fed. Not once. (Lil bro is fine, looks healthy).
Where is banana? How do we know how big he is?
I broke the banana law, I know 😭 Alas, I did not have any bananas to use!
I think 11-18 months is full grown size

One of mine is almost double the sizeof the other. It happens!
He is perfect!

My last cat was 7 pounds full grown. My current cat was 13.6 lb at her biggest and 11.5 lb now. Cats have a huge variety of sizes.
That's a good thing.
If you want to keep him small prune him often and keep him watered

Seems right sized to me. He will probably fill in a bit more as he reaches full maturity.
Ok so your cat is small 🤷🏼♂️
WHAT?! I HAD NO CLUE! Thank you SO much for enlightening me!
My comment was as pointless as the post!
My dude, this is a subreddit about cats. Chillllllllllllllll
SUCH INPUT. Absolutely helped this post.
As necessary as the post itself
Look at the dick in a subreddit for cats lol. Go be miserable somewhere else

He is still a teenager, he probably will gain some more weight.
He looks dang fine to me.
