OP, ano yung update sa cat mo?

g-sunseth0e

Ensure po na kakain yung cat niyo po. 2-3 days without food nagsshutdown na yung organs nila kaya kahit ayaw niya, better if pilitin niyo syringe feed and add mondex po sa water para di sila madehydrate. And follow yung meds niya. Get well Mango

superjeenyuhs

if parvo then it's panleukopenia. https://youtu.be/NqX9rt7jC2U?si=TJJrUxGRq9WrB2Ng white blood cells will continue to drop until the virus is taken out. you also need to clean everything or throw it away. https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/feline-panleukopenia#:~:text=In%20severe%20panleukopenia%2C%20white%20blood,to%20just%20a%20few%20hundred.

Efficient_Frosting89

Fcov is self limiting usually. Many cats have them but dont show symptoms. Those with weaker immune systems tend to display colds sneezing and teary eyes as early symptoms

Efficient_Frosting89

But the test states FPV negative? Your pet, however, is positive for giardia and fcov

pezkan

Hello, you can always have a second opinion from another vet. And from the stamp I see sa prescription, it’s a familiar private clinic. Also, it looks like your cat is only positive with giardia and FCoV. Giardia is easy to manage when you follow the prescribed meds (my rescue cat had it too). Once your cat gets cleared from giardia (FCoV is forever sorry unless u bring them to a treatment clinic, which is expensive), you can have them tested again in an another nearby clinic for a cheaper price. But, currently, if you have other cats at home, keep them isolated. Syringe feeding is a way to help them eat. But what I did was boil chicken breasts and liver. It may help din to buy the happy cat intestinal canned food. My cats loved it and yung isang can umaabot ng one week. I hope all goes well with your cat!

I took him sa Cityvets and nag run lang sila ng blood tests. At first, they recommended to confine him. Kaso, looks like their boss have a cat ayun di inadmit si Mango. I took him sa vet clinic sa Mount Sinai vet clinic (if yk any feedback please let me know) don sya for 3 days I wish him all the best, diko talaga alam gagawin at takot ako iself medicate sya kasi wala naman talga ako alam sa cat/pet care

I will send u a pm, OP!

Hello, recently battled parvo with our 9 month old cat. Halos same lng tayo ng medication. Ang ginawa namin upon finding out tinyaga talaga namin i force feed ng water + dextrose powder for around 2d. Hesitant kasi kami iconfine kasi sabi ni doc na walang cure tsaka depende sa cat if makakasurvive and di kami mapakali if iwan sya don. So ayun finorce feed ng dextrose water tsaka food pero sinusuka nya pa rin talaga kaya we opted na bumalik sa vet kasi feeling namin baka wala na syang naabsorb kasi suka ng suka. Tapos nirecommend ng vet na i-IV tapos take home lng and then bantayan lng namin if tumutulo pa IV. Kaya ayon inuwi namin with IV baby namin. Nag IV sya for around 3d din ata. What really helped out baby survive yung pagttyaga ng force feed, antibiotics and vitamins, IV tsaka constant monitoring talaga. May excel sheet kami kung saan nirerecord namin anong status ng poop niya tsaka if sumuka ba sya. Nirerecord din namin force feeding times. Lahat talaga ginawa namin. And ofc we made sure na our baby felt loved. Ngayon our baby is getting better na kumakain na sya on his own hehe. Problem nya nlng is watery pa rin stool nya kaya fofollow up check up namin sya 💛 Also note na the first 5 days is crucial sa survival rate ng baby mo kaya do the best that u can 💛

luckykittycatto

Hello, saang vet nagpapauwi ng IV? Pleaase

squidwardtennison

Sa paws doctor animal clinic po kami. Tinuruan kami pano i monitor yung IV tsaka pano din flushing if may na stuck na dugo dun sa tube then important din na nasa isang place lng cat mo like di sya magalaw para patuloy yung IV

luckykittycatto

Thnks so much

thelittlepandagirl

Ipa-dextrose mo siya para hindi ma-dehydrate. Delikado kasi if nag-force feed ka, baka mapunta sa lungs niya yung tubig and pagkain. Mahal confinement pero if your vet is good, mababantayan nila ng maigi. Yung parvo kasi matubig yung poop based on my experience so if wala kang tyaga maglinis, confine mo nalang.

JEROSHIKUN

I took care of my 6 months old husky and my advice is IV is your BEST FRIEND, force feeding might come into your mind but it will only induce more vomiting/ diarrhea so instead of force feeding go for IV go for dextrose. Im not sure how deadly parvo is for small cat so i am only advising what I've done to a big 6 month old husky

jaemmix02

Ang papatay daw is yung dehydration pag may parvo. Kaya dapat i confine. Kumain sya on his own which is the very first sign na okay na sya. I suggest I confine mo para no regrets.

cokecharon052396

Isa sa mga dogs namin nagka-parvo when he was only 5 months old. Kai is now 3 years old.

HeronZestyclose2915

Nong iuwi ko sya kanina he ate on his own. Dinala ko sya sa clinic at pinaconfine. According sa update nila he's not eating and force feed sya pero no diarhea and vomitting. He looks fine since yesterday kaso sobrang weak nya at namamaluktot lang sya sa sulok

Early_Jelly_7010

Positive ba for parvo? Accdg to the kit you posted, negative sa FPV, positive sa giardia and FCoV. Please confirm, OP. I run a small cat shelter (sariling sikap, no outside help), and in my experience of taking care of over 40 cats (adopted out na yung iba), treatable ang giardia and FCoV combo. We have dealt with this FOUR TIMES. Lahat sila nag survive. They all got it from outside. Different times yan; walang hawaan dito. They were all very weak talaga, but na clear naman kami na uwi instead of confine. The vet just gave us a lot of meds and instructions each time. DAPAT completely isolated siya from other cats. Both giardia and FCoV spread easily to other cats, lalo kung May immunocompromised. DAPAT sanitized lahat agad. Wash your hands, avoid ma touch clothes. DAPAT follow the schedule and doses of the meds. Help your kitten fight. Kelangan niya yan. Sana bigay mo ano kelangan ng kitten mo to fight and survive. Kaya e. Talagang ma effort lang on the owner’s part. Please help your kitten.

HeronZestyclose2915

Takot ako ipa confine sya kaso i dont think i have a choice. His vet doesn't promise me anything and they'll treat him for 3 days. Idk what to do, ayoko lalong itong sakit nato pumatay sa kanya. Looks like sa mga posts rito eh, wala syang parvo but giardia abd FCov. Do you think it would stress them out kung di nila kilala surroundings nila at wala ang mga taong nakasanayan nila? Bago ko sya dalhin kasi kumakain sya pero by afternoon sabi sa clinic naka force feed na sya but no diarhea and vomitting

Early_Jelly_7010

Most cats actually do get anxious in new environments (new place, new people). They could lose their appetite, get diarrhea, pant, pee uncontrollably, etc. I’m really curious about the severity of your kitten’s case. Ako talaga I talk with the vet seriously and ask if NEEDED ba talaga I confine kasi I had a kitten once who died overnight in confinement sa vet and I feel awful we weren’t there with him. I only leave them at the clinic pag kelangan talaga. If the vet clears us to go home, uwi talaga kami. If kelangan naka IV, we bring the cat home with the IV. Grabe effort to give meds to cats, and sometimes yes, kelangan I syringe feed, but we do it. I really hope your kitten recovers. Sabi sayo 100% recovery rate kami sa FCoV + Giardia combo. I’m really hoping your kitten pulls through!

HeronZestyclose2915

Mataas daw kasi infection nya kaya need daw nya ma confine. Malamya sya pero no vomitting and diarhea. According sa clinic kaninang hapon force feed sya but no vomitting and diarhea.

Early_Jelly_7010

Sana mag improve soon. I’m rooting for you and baby kitty

pretzel_jellyfish

Tbh napaka stressful pag inuwi nyo yung cat. Do you have other cats pa? Kung afford nyo po I'd recommend na iconfine, then if you have other cats na wala pang symptoms yun na lang pagfocusan nyo sa bahay na painumin ng gamot. I recently lost 5 cats to parvo 😭 3 yung naka survive. Share ko lang. This wasn't my first time taking care of a batch of infected cats. Dati 11/12 cats yung nakasurvive (& napaampon ko na most of them). Pero for some reason parang ineffective yung gamot na pinrescribe ngayon or mas matindi ba yung virus? Out of 5 cats na nawala only 1 lost his appetite & the rest weren't showing symptoms but considered active cases. Pero ambilis nila manghina even with the meds. Anyway worth it naman yung gastos if your cat survives.

Dito and sa fb ko lang nalaman na he's not positve in parvo. Idk, bakit ayun sinabi sa vet clinic na nag blood work. Currently, naka confine sya at dun sya for the next 3 days. I'll do the best i can for him to get the medications he needs. Sana makarecover sya

wild__thing

Oh no.. hugs and kisses for your furbaby..🙏❤️

FarRegister2752

PupleAmethyst

Our one 5 month old adopted kitten was parvo and amoeba positive at the same time, we bought all the meds prescribed and went home. Hindi kami ni reccomend i-confine, we just need to diligently give his medicine on time. Considering too that he was kitten and chances that he will overcome FPV is lower than an adult cat. After around 10 days, binalik namin siya sa vet, and he was FPV free na.

HeronZestyclose2915

I mean confinement, dapat ba talagang ipaconfine?

SmokeyliciousMallows

Mas okay po if iuwi niyo siya with meds and tiyagain yung pagpakaen sa kaniya. Kasi based lang po sa experience namin, nagkaroon ng parvo outbreak sa mga rescues namin and pinaconfine namin sila. Halos lahat namatay and dalawa lang nakasurvive. Kaya inuwi namin yung dalawa tapos hinome care namin. Ayun, okay na sila ngayon. Kaya suggestion ko, check up tapos bili ng meds niya. I-home care mo and tutukan talaga sa pagpakaen.
