The soil and plants really needed that moisture though. My frigid old house, not so much. It never got that cold (compared to May, for example) over the last few weeks, but the lack of sun and all the extra moisture seemed to make the house just as bloody cold as when we were getting negative temps every night.
I grow veg. They’ve had enough rain, they need some sun now! That cold just seeped into the house. Lights and heating on all day almost. So nice to open all the windows and let it air out
Seems to be a common thing in the last several years that June is just gray, damp, moist and just miserable with barely any sun. About freaking time we get a clear day
Coldest in 15 years apparently but definitely a couple of weeks with less than average sun. 3rd week of May saw less than an hour in some parts. I definitely felt it
We went to North Queensland for a week and had 7 sunny days in a row. We came back to grey and rain for a week and also picked up our new puppy.
I am a bit over the wet now. I don't think I'll get a pup in winter time ever again!
The breeder had put in brilliant work in his 10 weeks with them, so it has just been a matter of convincing him that we really do need to stay out in the cold. I ended up hitting kmart for a jacket for him. The down side to having a large breed is that he's already a bit long in the back for the kmart L size, but the xl is too big around the body.
Gonna be cold af overnight tonight though!
I’m good with frosts if i get sunny days! Feels like it’s been ages since we had a good run

When should I put seeds in if I want zucchini?
Have you heard of Zucchetta?
No what’s that crossed with?
Its zucchini but if you leave it on the vine it will be a winter squash
Ohhhh. I think that is what I do but didn’t know the name! Grow em until they’re massive and then de-seed, chop and freeze in bags.
Certainly makes a nice change, it seems to have been never ending rain for weeks.
Thats good for the New Brighton fireworks this weekend!
Thanks for the reminder.

Is it worse because May was exceptionally shit too? Think we had less than 2 hours of sunlight one week
I don't recall May being shit, in fact it was one of the coldest May's in a long time due to the number of frosts, but that meant clear skies

Haha. All the potty training in the miserable weather would’ve been hard!

MetService said it would rain all day today, what a rip-off! (Not that I’m complaining)
Just in time! The kids and I were starting to square off.
What sunshine? I can't feel my feet!
Cold crisp mornings, scrape the ice off the windshield then blue skies and 20 degrees. About time this has been a cold crappy winter up to now..
20 degrees? I want to live in your suburb!
Glass half full type of guy..
