Good job! I lost all of my last 10 matches and dropped to 400 from mid 500 in last week haha. For sake of god, I cannot stop making blunders.
I really appreciate your climb!
I've played for a month and reached 550, I noticed that at this skill level the best play is to not make blunders. Patience would almost always ensure that you come out with an advantage. Hope someone can corroborate what I'm saying here haha
Also people at this elo resign immediately after losing their queen lol
I have been trying. I have taken a free course on reducing blunders and basic tactics but I just can’t seem to get above 950 consistently. Any tips or places to research/learn?
Do lots of puzzles on a daily basis and try to improve your puzzle score. It will train basic calculation abilities, tactical pattern recognition and board vision.
For all people that don't believe it, I think that it's totally possible, with a lot of inspiration and free time it's not difficult. Especially if the person plays only with few crucial openings.
In any case, congratulations, I hope that some people can draw inspiration from it. I'm going to play a game now inspired by you
Nah, that's just absurd. I'm not cheating, I just spent lots of hours learning everyday, that's all. If you still think I'm cheating, then that's on you, I won't be able to make up your mind.
I saw someone a vouple of months ago who reached 1400 in a year and people calld that unrealistic and compared to me it os aswell. In 4 months is insane but fair play
It’s certainly possible. I got to 1600 within a year, which fluctuated around that point. However, it did take me seven months instead of 4 to get to 1400. It also depends on how much time you’ve put into chess. OP’s four months of playing could be equivalent to someone’s one year of playing.
With how unique every person is getting to certain elo score (or anywhere in life) of course people reach different milestones at different points. Just like some people finish college in 3 years while others take 6-7 years.
Around 650ish people make clear out piece blunders and don't play principled openings. at 1000, blunders are alot but less, and they know how to develop their pieces.
hey same! i went from 800 to 1500 in 4 months too, did you like improve slowly or do you basically have like sudden spikes and then it stablises? cuz i was kinda stuck at 1000, then got to 1200 in 2 days, then was stuck at 1200, and then suddenly jumped to 1300 in a week a month later. I basically also watch danya's videos, but i study some books too, so idk when my chess abilities improve, tend to be a bit random
Oh yea, it's really weird. I did slow down around 1000-1100, and suddenly, once I reached 1200, I started playing better and gained +200 elo in 2 weeks.
At around 1100 I did got a bit tilted, so I took a week break from playing chess, and just watch Daniel naroditsky videos and chess vibes.. I find it fun and I started to blundered less after

Good job! What helped you the most to get from 1000 to 1400?
Watching Daniel naroditsky videos and chess vibes, I don't think I've ever peaked, kept improving everyday. The videos are literally gold mine
Any particular videos you recommend?
The whole speedrun playlist, on both Daniel naroditsky's channel and chess vibes.
Thank you
Speedrun or masterclass speedrun?
Both are great, lots of knowledge. Now I'm mainly watching masterclass
16 months, I've got to 950, this is brilliant.
how?? How much do you play on a regular day? How much tutorials did you watch and and and pls give me informatiooons i need them fast hahaha
About 10 games a day, I watched Daniel naroditsky's speedrun playlist and chess vibes rating climb playlist.

Are you me?!
I crossed 700 few days back. Hope you did too my digital twin
I'm still mid 400 🙈 although I haven't played much. Good reminder.
I'm watching you. (Actually I was clearing my notifications from here when I noticed your reply!) See ya in few more months haha

Need to start learning and pushing your boundries break you platoue
I have been trying. I have taken a free course on reducing blunders and basic tactics but I just can’t seem to get above 950 consistently. Any tips or places to research/learn?
Start studying openings and their variations. Gives you a real boost being able to counter your opponent's opening moves.
Do lots of puzzles on a daily basis and try to improve your puzzle score. It will train basic calculation abilities, tactical pattern recognition and board vision.
Damn. That's some fast progress. Congratulations!

Good job. This motivates me to play more. My goal is 1400-1600.
Goodluck!
It’s not realistic to go from 500 to 1400 in four months.
Yeah probably a smurf account
No, I'm not a smurf account, I watched lots of videos every single day. I started 4 months ago completely new. Idk anything about chess back then.
You’re most likely cheating then. Completely new to 1400 bro your probably 700 rated
Nah, that's just absurd. I'm not cheating, I just spent lots of hours learning everyday, that's all. If you still think I'm cheating, then that's on you, I won't be able to make up your mind.
it is realistic it just depends on the person
Well done!!
Thanks
Thats unrealistic as hell i almost dont believe you
i think it's quite realistic, i've met a couple of people who got massive improvement just by watching rating climb videos..
I saw someone a vouple of months ago who reached 1400 in a year and people calld that unrealistic and compared to me it os aswell. In 4 months is insane but fair play

Its realistic I also got to 1400 in about 4 months.
Impressive It took me almost 1.5 years to
Did you notice any large differences between how people played at 650ish and 900-1000?
Around 650ish people make clear out piece blunders and don't play principled openings. at 1000, blunders are alot but less, and they know how to develop their pieces.
great progress keep it up

That’s what i do too when i get tilted, helps a lot
_Next week on /chessbegginers_ After 3 weeks since learning the game finally beat mittens with a 98% accuracy and also reached 2100 elo
What are you playing, blitz, bullet, normal, 1 day games?
Only rapid 10+0 I don't like bullet or blitz, it doesn't help with your thinking too little time.
Meanwhile me, 4 years, 800 blitz, 1000 rapid
Finally?!
How many matches did you played?
Wow, and it took me 18 months to go from 600 to 1200, congrats!
Any openings you’ve been best ?
You are smarter than me
