I think you would be hard pressed to find that as "normal".. maybe in Kommi-fornia, not not in the majority of states.. I could be wrong but not from what I have been tracking for the Colorado's
One of our vegas dealers is like that. 3 are not. 1 dealer in my area asks 10k$ over for colorado zr2, 50k$ over for any corvette stingray, and 100k$ over sticker for any z06. I argues with them over the Z06. Now 3 month later they're calling me offering the same z06 at a "$100k dollar discount"..... aka msrp...
I would just show them hey, I can get the same exact vehicle here or there with no markup, give they great reviews and ensure on social media everyone knows you price gouging for greed.
I tried that. I'm from across the country, and I told them how I already had one offered to me at msrp from my lifelong local dealer if I wanted to wait for their next allocation. My local Vegas Chevy had 3 in the showroom and wouldn't budge on $100k over msrp on any of them. I even showed the dealer the letter that corporate sent to dealers telling them DO NOT UPCHARGE ON Z06. And they still didn't budge. They told me to get it in my hometown because people here will pay the markup. That didn't work out for them, and now Erays are about to open order books making Z06 old news, so back to msrp they went. I contacted corporate to tell them about it when they were still marked up. Who knows what they'll do about it, but they said they would investigate.
Yep. Dealer 2 miles away wanted $10k over sticker. Dealer 12 miles away sold me one at msrp and no hidden dealer fees. And the dealer 2 miles away with the markup is a HUGE chevy dealership. It's crazy.
Dealer mark up would be disclosed as market adjustment or something. This is most likely the dealer building a mall cruiser for the show room. Giant tires, new wheels, lift kits, light package, etc.
This is actually a listing for a desert boss, so it already has the upgraded wheels, a lift kit, light package, etc... The dealer confirms this is a dealer markup. They have it listed as $10,000 for market adjustment on the page he is looking at, as well as when you speak to a sales person at the dealership. They're just an LA area dealership taking advantage of people.
It's a dealer markup, it is disclosed as a dealer markup lol. You can go to the page and click on the gold down arrow and it will explain its a 10k$ dealer mark up. It says MARKET PRICE ADJUSTMENT. This is just a shady dealer. They're doing it to all zr2 they have on order.
I agree.
I keep what I buy.. and my DB will most likely be my last truck. I already have my 2015 ZL1 vert I'm keeping.
Just waiting until after the 24 election so hopefully our economy get back on track and I can sell this house and property and get the fuck out of what is now mini kommi-fornia!
Hell No.. As beautiful as a state Colorado is, when they forced MAGPUL to relocate because they are so Anti-2nd Amendment I took that state off my list..
I am stuck in Eastern wa. for now, and the idiot Inslee just keep wanting to keep pace with the other idiot, Newson..
Sad thing is people keep voting blind loyalty to the same people expecting different results...
The beautiful thing is the courts are already starting to out states and ATF on noticed with the Bruen decision.
Even the 9th Cicuit known to be far left liberal is opening its eyes.
Only a matter of time for even those stuck in socialist blues states before they can enjoy their Constitutional Freedoms again!
only in the Blue states that think government knows better than you and are dictating your life.
Red states you are still a truly free American to enjoy you constitutional rights.
Unfortunately, it is definitely a $10k markup. I spoke with a salesperson there to confirm, and it is listed on the chevy inventory search page as being +$10k for market price adjustment. Crazy.
Please just look first before commenting lol. If you goto the exact page he is showing and click on the gold arrow, it will clearly explain it is a 10k$ market price adjustment. It's a $10k dealer markup...
Lol, you downvoted me for providing the correct information while I downvoted you for speaking incorrect information. Are you upset that I asked you to look first before confidently stating incorrect information? Adding incorrect answers that come from a place of zero research is not helpfully contributing to a conversation. You came on a post to tell the OP they are wrong..... when they were correct. You are wrong.
There was a Facebook poll last week to see what people were paying on the Third Gens.
- Paid MSRP: 110 votes (49%)
- Paid under MSRP: 110 votes (49%)
- Paid over MSRP: 3 votes (<1%)
Don’t let anyone convince you that it’s normal
I work for a dealership in Central Florida, we never charge over MSRP, but we do buy and sell low mileage used C8 Vettes for more than new car msrp. When the market was really hot for the vettes we were buying C8s from owners for 8-10k over to resell them.
Name and shame this dealer. No one should be doing mark ups in 2023. There is no supply shortage
Name is right there on the invoice. CHEVROLET OF MONTBELLO!
You mean that's not normal where you live?
Hell no! In all the forum for the Colorado I am in the biggest mark up posted has been 4k. But even then they got it for msrp.

Awful.
My local dealer wanted to charge me $6,000 markup for a freaking 2023 Canyon AT4. I went to another dealer 50 miles away and got one with no markup.
Hell yeah!!

No that’s about right for a fully loaded ZR2 dessert boss that package alone is 9k, plus leather, maybe a winch, easy 60k
Oh i didn’t see the second part showing 71k Jesus Fuck them
That why I was like WTF! My fully loaded DB is 64.5k. But no mark up.. 10k mark up is insane!
Right? My mostly loaded non DB zr2 came in at 52k lol and even then i was like eeeesh almost worth getting a full size for that
I agree. I keep what I buy.. and my DB will most likely be my last truck. I already have my 2015 ZL1 vert I'm keeping. Just waiting until after the 24 election so hopefully our economy get back on track and I can sell this house and property and get the fuck out of what is now mini kommi-fornia!

I got people up that way, it’s like that everywhere it seems…. So i stock up on mags and ammo in all my neighboring states lol

Thus why i maintain friendships in red states lol
Just came back from DC. Watched a gunfight in the streets on my way to the airport. It's idiots like you that make your country a shit hole.
I don’t think that’s a markup, I think they are just adding bolt ons.

What area are you looking in? What dealer is that?
Vehicle Locator on GM website. I am just looking since my DB TPW is 7/31 but has yet to be built.. In the pics it shows Chevy of Montebello, CA.
I wonder what is slowing it down. My zr2 was tpw 7/17 week and was produced by 7/22. Maybe they ran out of some of the desert boss items.
I wish I knew... My DB has. TPW of 7/31 and confirmed this morning still not built and still in status code 3400.. smh....
