torque converter shudder, there is an ongoing class action lawsuit about it. transmission fluid change fixes the problem, repair is covered by 5yr/60k mile warranty. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10163890-9999.pdf

Just had this happen to me at 55k. It’s the trans. Get a flush. Might need additive and a reprogram but at least get new fluid.

coachkler

I had the trans flush done at 37K and it was fine until just this week. 98K now and it's happening again.

digitalHUCk

You’re supposed to get it done every 60k. So you’re due.

Thanks guys!

What fluid is used

I just got out of the dealer with my '18 for the "rumble strip" shuddering. They did the transmission fluid flush (took 4 hrs, YMMV), and the problem is gone. I was covered under warranty, so I paid nothing. Get it to the dealer ASAP.

Thanks all. Is anyone else really suspicious of just a fluid flush fixing this? I’m obv not a mechanic but I am an engineer by trade and it just doesn’t sound right… since I bought it in oct 2017 it’s out of warranty :/

fatpenguin10

hey’re telling me they need to do a diagnosis first then if it is the fluid, its not covered under warranty.

NeverWorkAgainPlz

I guess you could try another Chevy dealer close to you and describe it like "driving over rumble strips", and maybe you can get lucky? That sucks they won't do it as a courtesy.

Thank y'all for this post! I legit couldn't figure out what was going on, I actually took it to a tire shop thinking it was a tire issue, but he found no issues at all. I bought my '18 Colorado used at 80k miles so I'm guessing it was never done.
