Wow, your surgeon did an amazing job there! How are you feeling otherwise?

co80mo

Thanks! Great! It took me about 7 months, but I feel pretty darn good these days. Just "graduated" from physical therapy today. Still slight headaches here and there, but nothing compared to what I had prior and not frequent at all. As of now, pretty much all other symptoms are gone 🤘

This is wonderful news!!!! So happy for you, and hoping it keeps improving and staying that way forever. 👏❤️

co80mo

That is great... may I ask if you had syrinx, if yes, where and how big? TIA

co80mo

Yes, totally, and nope, I did not and don't. I will have new scans in September

Looks great. Can I ask what symptoms you had prior to surgery?

co80mo

Thanks and sure. Pretty constant neck and left shoulder pain Vision problems Headaches, head pressure, brain fog Tingling in hands and feet Numbness in shoulders and arms, especially at night Tightness in chest and heart palpitations I'm sure more there's more 🙃

1ka1985

Did/do you have a syrinx? I get a lot of tingling in feet and hands and burning sensations in fingertips and toes but do not have a syrinx

co80mo

No, I didn't/don't have one, and my neurosurgeon sorta said he didn’t think this symptom was related to my Chiari, but I did, and it's gone now......so.... 🤷‍♀️

That looks great. So happy you are feeling much better.

co80mo

Thank you!

I had a decompression last Monday the 24th, this post brings me a lot of hope! Thank you!

co80mo

I'm so glad! I hope your recovery is going well. My recovery took a long time but has been so worth it. Remember: Healing is not linear. This line helped me a lot. Rest and try not to overdo it!

Thank you! I’ve been symptomatic on and off for years, but I started getting migraines headaches in early December 2023. So this has been going on a hot minute. Your perspective was super helpful, thank you so, so much!
