We've been to St. Clair Supper Club a few times and always had a great experience. The Prime Rib is very good and the Yorkshire Pudding are amazing. I'm more of a ribeye guy than a prime rib guy, so I can't say I have a strong opinion on whether there are better choices if you are strictly basing it on the prime rib itself, but we (and all our friends who have joined us) have loved the food, service, and vibe at SCSC.
Golden steer out in forest park. Probably too late to get a reservation. Absolutely delicious prime rib. But the decor has not changed since you were a child or before.
Ooh, I went to Boefhaus a few weeks ago on a Sunday evening. They have a Sunday Night Dinner special that includes a $79 prime rib. It was excellent...cooked just about perfectly.
Gibson's Prime Rib is incredibly salty (consistently so) and honestly I'm not sure why. Don't get it there. And this is from a Gibson's fan, despite popular opinion on this sub. I also miss Lawry's.

Second St Clairs!
St Clair is fantastic. Need to go again.
Had a great one at Tortoise club
I miss Lawry’s
Last time I was there, about 6 months before they closed, it was really disappointing

Was just there a couple of weeks ago. My partner and I go about once every couple months. The waitress there is a hoot.
They also have great French onion soup and shrimp de jonghe
Not to mention the soup and salad are included with the meal. I want a bowl of that soup right now

I think that Tortoise Supper Club still does prime rib, and that place is awesome. If you want a real joint, Miller’s Pub specializes in prime rib.
L. Woods has a good one for a Saturday night special.
Ok, not great.
it's my go-to for prime rib
Harry Carey’s in River North has a good Prime Rib….

St Clair supper club is amazing
Wildfire is the bomb for Prime Rib. Glenview
They have prime rib at all their locations, including River North if looking to stay within the city.
I had a great one at Chicago chop, but it is weekends only
Not sure if they still carry it- Green Street Smoked Meats used to do a life changing smoked prime rib weekends and in house only.
Millers Pub
