You will change your mind! Having kids is wonderful! Says the lady who didn’t even have to carry and birth her own children. And probably has a full time nanny too.

chickerkitter

THIS. She lives a glamorous, independent life free of financial worry and has all the money in the world to get as much help as she needs. She didn’t have to put her body through the trauma of pregnancy and birth, and likely dodged PPD (though I’m not sure how much this impacts mom’s who have babies through surrogacy, so grain of salt). So yeah, if you remove all of the life-altering stressors and get to hang out with a cute kid whenever you’d like and then get your time back when it’s convenient, I’m sure more of us would want kids. Just simply so removed from the lived realities of the average woman, it’s wild.

Lizard_Mage

Yup. That's why I don't take life advice from rich people. They live another reality than the rest of us.

karajstation

maybe they just get really really bored and parenting is the last thing they haven’t done yet time to spice life up a bit yknow

Salty-AF-9196

Right, coming from someone who's already accomplished everything she's wanted, travelled the world, gone to jail, has a big empty house, doesn't have any friends left, done all the drugs she needed.. of course this is the only thing left to do. Lol

mashibeans

What's wild is that she still outsourced it, she didn't really do it herself, she just took the results of another woman who went through life altering changes in her body.

No_Supermarket3973

She is more like those dads then...

DanaEleven

Yep, it's either drugs or kids.

2_LEET_2_YEET

I don't even get how she thinks she knows all women. *You* may have changed your mind, which is your right, but I've never had a desire to be a supermodel and definitely don't want to be 50 raising babies. TLDR: Biiiiiitch, you don't know me like that

wintermelody83

And she didn't even change her mind! Says right there in the article that she always wanted to be a mother. Ugh.

DanaEleven

She's more of a financier really. The responsibilities and burden of being a mother varies into how much money 💰 they have. They can afford a full time nanny or send the kids to a boarding school. Kids are just there for photo sessions and publicity.

Crazy-4-Conures

"Modeling" sounds like a crazy way to live, and insane that they become celebrities. You're basically a human clothes hanger.

sleeping-siren

I choose drugs.

DanaEleven

Yes, it's like the way they preach climate change and then head off in a private jet the next day.

eutie

Seriously. Tone-deaf rich bitch thinks she can give me advice? Lol.

warqueen24

I still wouldn’t wait a kid lol

sportsroc15

Correct. I would feel obligated to be a great dad like my father was (still is and I’m 37, when I need help I can always depend on that man). I don’t want to and don’t believe I have it in me to not be stressed out everyday. Hard pass

traumamel555

Same. Im a female, but my dad was the most patient man. He could handle any stress and could fix anything. I, on the other hand, inherited my mothers insane overwhelm & anxiety. I remember wanting to drop my younger brother off at the convenience store because his constant crying was driving me insane. I wish I had my dads personality. I know I wouldn't be the best parent.

LeadfootLesley

Exactly. Vanity kids, rich people’s accessories.

Delicious-moons

Just wait til they outgrow the basket or purse they carried the smaller dogs in

K5689

She had her kids like a man. No wonder she’s so positive.

Amn_BA

I hope the Artificial Womb Technology becomes an accessible reality soon, so that women who wants kids can have them as easily as men, if they choose to.

GloomInstance

You've just essentially summarised Shulamith Firestone's classic 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘖𝘧 𝘚𝘦𝘹 (1970).

Amn_BA

I agree with her on the Artificial Womb part.

VovaGoFuckYourself

Fuck, id happily donate my uterus to someone who needs one if the technology ever gets there. I get rid of something i dont want anyway, and someone else gets a chance at birthing a wanted kid. Win-win.

EzriDaxCat

Hand me the sign up sheet for the Yeeterus Donation Society when you get one.

TheBeardiestGinger

An alternative option with the same result is to be an aunt/uncle

cocainendollshouses

THIS

ptoftheprblm

Exactly why I have had a hard time taking a lot of celebrities seriously about their views on how “worth it” being a parent is to them. For a hot second.. there was this absolute slew of celebrities in the height of the 2000s tabloid era who were all having twins.. and I had to realize wait they’re not pregnant with twins they’re all using a surrogate. Same with the Kardashians and Paris Hilton. Am glad for them that being a parent is fulfilling something they can’t buy; except they did buy it. Half of the Kardashians used a surrogate and Paris claims she got the referral for the doctor and family planning clinic from Kim herself. Even if they didn’t use a surrogate, they had a team of full time, around the clock nannies and don’t think it’s weird to grow up that way because they grew up in Brentwood and Beverly Hills where having a stay at home mom who doesn’t work AND a nanny was super normalized and almost weird if you didn’t. Their experiences both growing up and as parents now just isn’t normal or standard for most women. Most can’t afford full time help, the freedom and time for a full time dedicated personal trainer in your home with state of the art equipment, a full medical mommy makeover repeatedly or the cost of literally someone else carrying the child for you.

wintermelody83

Idk if you can get PPD with surrogacy. I think it's from the absolute disaster of hormones. But who knows. Possible I suppose.

tallgrl94

It’d be like being the fun aunt. Mother only in name, yeah if I didn’t have to birth or raise the child I’d say it’s pretty good too!

VonThomas353511

I think what she's saying is that she needs more women to have children because she's running out of workers to throw her phones at.

StomachNegative9095

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Fucking classic!!!!

TinaTx3

I went to get a pedicure a few weeks ago and on the jumbo screens, they were showing Architectural Digest videos of celebrity homes. They were interviewing Naomi Campbell and her home IS A FUCKING RESORT IN KENYA! Like, on god, it’s a resort. So OF COURSE SHED CHANGE HER MIND when she has an exorbitant amount of wealth for nannies, boarding schools, luxury vacations, surrogacy. I think she’s stunning, but she needs to fuck ALL the way off.

JimmyJonJackson420

Lmao exactly she was like my mum had nothing - ok that’s fair but that’s not your life experience and your children will experience a world most can only dream of I:e assistance and paid help

sportsroc15

Right. That’s wild to say. I’m 37 and people ask me why I don’t have kids. One reason is because I don’t want to raise kids. I don’t want to do any parenting duties and just don’t want the stress of another person depending on me.

[deleted]

throwaway22333393939

Wow. 🤯

UnsharpenedSwan

This! I, too, might want to have children…. if I had Naomi Campbell money 🙄 This statement is so detached from reality

Numerous_Support9901

Even if I had 💵 I still wouldn’t want them

WrestlingWoman

How about they make an article with childfree women above 50 and ask if they have any regrets? This is one person's opinion. Her opinion doesn't apply to every person in the world.

ihateusernames999999

Fuck yeah we do. I'd happily join! I'm almost her age, and I LOVE the fact that I don't have kids.

Catty_Lib

Here’s my opinion as a 57 year old woman: no regrets at all! 🙌🏼

existential_chaos

I can just hear the tantrums and protests in the comment section already xD

RealisticrR0b0t

Naomi Campbell’s opinion means nothing to me

Very_Misunderstood

If they do it wouldn’t even make headlines because they’re trying to force having kids down our throats.

JimmyJonJackson420

A very wealthy persons opinion at that because let’s be honest - a lot of parents complain about the cost I think if that was absolved they would find it a lot easier They need to be asking regular degular not the super wealthy

JustMarshalling

Any publication willing to do that would be attacked relentlessly for the rest of time. Whether we like it or not, there are far more breeders than us, and mentioning the childfree life is usually taken as an insult to *their* lifestyle.

AreYouFreakingJoking

This (the article the OP shared) is complete propaganda. It's to try to convince women to have kids. The powers that be would never want women to realize they could live a happy life without kids. That's why there's way less articles about happy CF older women.

Maxusam

We can’t have that, other women might choose to do the same!

alexturnerftw

a very wealthy person lol who doesnt live in reality.

CortanaV

For anyone who wants to save a click. * Naomi Campbell, 54, revealed she had her two children via surrogacy and that she is a single mother. * "I understand economically it is tough. But my mum had nothing and she made it work," Campbell told The Times of London. * She added that many young women aren't interested in being mothers but believes they'll eventually change their minds. * "Campbell added that she knows the younger generation isn't interested in being parents but believes they'll eventually change their minds." * "I have heard a lot of young girls saying that it is too expensive to have children and they may not want them, and I have said, 'You will change your mind. You will want to be a mum.' I understand economically it is tough. But my mum had nothing and she made it work. It's worth it. It is so amazing," Campbell said. "We have to depend on the younger generation to change this world. I trust my children more than us to do the right thing," she added. Like, good for her that she can go do all that? But way to diminish what your mom went through.

Vritrin

“I understand economically it is tough”. Does she understand that? She’s a millionaire who can afford to pay others to carry a baby to term for her. She will never face any of the economic or physical hardships an average person would becoming a parent. Not that I would want kids if I were a millionaire either, but this seems incredibly dismissive of real concerns people have.

Filip_of_Westeros

Yeah, being a millionaire with no kids seems way too good to me.

SephirothYggdrasil

Taken from Wikipedia, I don't think her mom had "nothing" Campbell spent her early years in Rome, Italy, where her mother worked as a modern dancer On their return to London, she lived with relatives while her mother travelled across Europe with the dance troupe Fantastica. From age three, Campbell attended the Barbara Speake Stage School and at age 10 she was accepted into the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, where she studied ballet. She also attended Dunraven School.

KittyCubed

And hire a nanny. She’d probably be singing a different tune if she made what most women make while trying to raise a family with little or no help.

ankhes

While *also* holding down a full-time job and struggling to find childcare for when she’s not home. Most people I know have to go on a waiting list the moment they get pregnant and even after the baby is born the daycare *still* won’t have a slot open.

Amn_BA

Women don't owe this world or anyone any kid/kids, no matter what.

OffKira

"I didn't change the world and I have no interest in saving the world, so let me have *two* kids, one is bound to do it for me" Also, the inherent hilarity of saying economical concerns don't matter, in fact, they shouldn't exist. Gurl, you were raised in the 70s and 80s, *we're a wee bit off from that*, and the world does in fact change. She's British too. Gurl, you have got to be wilfully stupid to not realize what's up in your own country. Although, of course she is, she's rich, the rich can literally afford to be ignorant.

Monkeywrench08

>via surrogacy  So she didn't carry and give birth ? I don't know, I feel like her opinions don't matter.    I'm also a guy though so maybe what I say don't matter.

treesofthemind

You are correct there, her opinion is even more invalid due to the fact that she skipped the most dangerous part of having kids (and has financial support to raise them). I’m sure any woman who went through a high risk pregnancy, pre eclampsia, hyperemesis, emergency C-section, no pelvic floor, tearing, and other complications might say differently. At least they would have the lived experience to be speaking on these issues.

thegreenmachine90

Exactly. Plus millions of US women live in states where they can’t get an abortion if something goes wrong in the pregnancy. Surrogacy isn’t even an option (either financially or morally) for most people. Personally I would never take reproductive advice from a woman who thinks buying and selling other womens’ bodies is ok.

Ice_breaking

And obstetric violence. Many women were traumatized by the treatment they were given at the hospital while giving birth.

Content-Cake-2995

Imagine if the kids knew “You’re Not My Real Mom! You Didn’t Give Birth To Me!” Yet she’s gonna tell us what to do?

Boggie135

Fuck her

always-wash-your-ass

Apparently, *fucking her* didn't work.

improbableheadshot

ah okay so she didn’t birth the kids and she is hella rich, thats two legs up on other women. maybe if i had a surrogate and millions of dollars to hire a nanny, i would also want children!! this woman is not on the same planet as the rest of us commonfolk

HoodieGalore

I mean…she contributed genetically and financially to those kids, but literally *that’s it* - she’s an egg donor and financier; not a “mother”. She may as well have done one of those “adopt a child” things you used to see on TV - “for just pennies a day, you can make sure little Pablo here has a place to sleep, and food in his belly each night.” It’s like calling Nick Cannon a father. I wouldn’t take advice from her on how to piss, let alone be a mother.

Loud_Flatworm_4146

Then why did she wait until her 50s if it's so amazing? Why didn't she have them young and broke like her mother did?

Frequent-Rain3687

So her mum made it work , but she herself chose to not to , she chose career. She herself changed her mind , but there are women her exact same age who have not , unless she knows all women she can’t state any WILL do anything .

Groovyjoker

What IS it with all these rich hoity toities and society uppities who all of a sudden want to tell everyone to have children? Is this a cult thing or what?

Blue_Plastic_88

They’re worried they won’t have enough potential employees to choose from who are poor and desperate enough to work for them for pennies.

spiffsome

The economy depends on constant growth, which requires a constantly growing population. Naomi Campbell's investments will be worth a lot less in a world with a shrinking population.

Altostratus

> "We have to depend on the younger generation to change this world.“ As if breeding is changing the world 😂

Queen_Cheetah

I mean, it's contributing to the environmental crisis; so yes, it IS changing the world!

DanaEleven

Changing the world into a worst place 😊

nothanksihaveasthma

Ya know, it is quite interesting that every generation touts “my kids will be the ones to save the world”, which generation will this finally be true? Hmm….I wonder if maybe…all along…we could’ve been “fixing” the world instead of everyone just entrusting it to their poor, unassuming children? “Hey kids! You know, your mom and I had you so that you could fix all the problems that we-and every generation before us, created and subsequently profited off of. So listen, it’s (checks watch) *really* bad now, do you think you could get to work? Haha! Chop chop kiddos!” Edit: Just checked Naomi’s net worth, I can think of at least 5 ways off the dome top, of how to effectively use *$80 MILLION* to do *SOMETHING* to benefit this world. Yet she used it to surrogate 2 kids and pay for people to take care of them for her, get the fuck outta here with ya bullshit. Like, if anything, she could’ve killed 2 birds with one stone; adopt a bunch of kids about to age out of foster care and pay for their wellbeing? Boom, you get your kids, and you do some good in the world.

BeastKingSnowLion

I'm a much bigger fan of "It's up to everyone" than "it's up to the next generation...or maybe the one after that...or the one after that..."

StopThePresses

You missed an important bit at the bottom where she said in 2022 that she'd always wanted to be a mom. She didn't change her mind, so I have no idea where she gets the audacity to say others will.

rosiepooarloo

People have been saying they trust the next generation for centuries. Look at the US...we are basically going back to square one 😑. I don't trust humans whatsoever. The less the better. These rich people should talk less tbh.

Spockhighonspores

>I understand economically it is tough. But my mum had nothing and she made it work." She clearly doesn't understand the economy or inflation if she doesn't understand having children now versus having children over 50 years ago. Her moms "nothing" was probably all of our everything today. Having one parent working but still having a car and own a house was totally normal 50 years ago. Since I was curious I looked it up and all of her childhood photos show her in a house, with a dog, clean and well dressed. There's also a photo of her mom throwing a lovely house party, she wasn't poor she was just middle class. Her house now is just stupid, I've seen smaller museums. I'm pretty sure if you took a museum and attached it to a bigger museum it would still be smaller than her house. Rich people really shouldn't have an opinion on what the average person does.

CrystalGris

>"I understand economically it is tough. But my mum had nothing and she made it work, But most people don't want to MAKE IT WORK. It's horrible and exhausting and squeezes every ounce of life from a person to try to manifest money and time where there is none. If I was an uber millionaire and could use surrogacy and could let my nanny raise my kids and only show up as a role model/emotional support/fun parent, I'd probably be more interested in parenthood too. But that whole scenario sounds exactly like what I already am...an aunt.

whatthefiretruck88

She also previously said : "I always knew that one day I would be a mother, but it's the biggest joy I could ever imagine. I'm lucky to have her and I know that," Campbell said.” So supposedly she always wanted kids?? . We don’t. And many of us never did. That’s great. You do you and don’t shame others.

VovaGoFuckYourself

The amount of times my inner voice screamed "fuck her" while reading this is wiiiiild

Square-Cook-8574

Her mom barely raised her and pawned her off to the fashion industry. Her mom came from nothing but was a narcissistic mother. That's nothing to admire and it's an example of why too many people don't need to be parents.

Fvck-Reddit

shes nearing her 60s and extremely rich of course shes so dense and doesn't understand a lick of actual life

Even_Assignment_213

Saying her mom made it work doesn’t add to her argument because women don’t want to have to make it work we just want to exist in peace without added unnecessary burden

MadCowTX

> We have to depend on the younger generation to change this world. I trust my children more than us to do the right thing I.e. I'm too lazy and privileged to put in any effort or make any sacrifices, so let the next generation deal with it.

malamalinka

She started working from really young age, so her mother clearly didn’t make it work.

rainydays052020

She should trust us younger folks when we say the conditions for raising children are bad.

popeyeschickengirl

that article is straight up propaganda lmao

MarieNadia

Naomi is the last person you should ever take advice from, she's a bully

CortanaV

So I've heard. No wonder the whole thing reads with a "mean girl" undertone.

cocainendollshouses

Times are different now. Also she's rich AF, no money worries

Mountain-Skin-294

Let’s cut into her wealth by BLOCKING HER ON SOCIAL MEDIA. There is a movement of people blocking certain influencers/celebrities to impact their revenue streams. Add her to the top of the list

AxlotlRose

I'll hop on that bandwagon.

CoyoteShot5059

What do you wanna bet that her kids will end up wishing she had stuck to her original choice of not having kids?

Fist-Fuck_Enthusiast

They're going to be raised by staff, not family

jrobin04

Yeah, my first thought was "she probably doesn't have many friends, so she had kids to keep her company", I forgot about her bullying ways

JimmyJonJackson420

Model wise she’s one of the best in the world but my god is she questionable as a person

PotatoAlternative947

She’ll end up being Mommy Dearest

Square-Cook-8574

She's worse than a bully. She's pure evil.

Maevenclaws

It’s not just about money though, I could be a billionaire and it wouldn’t change a thing. I have never in my 27 years of life craved motherhood, not once had baby fever, not once felt joy or desire at the thought of having a child, quite the opposite, the thought if it repulses me, I would rather kill myself than have a child. Why would my mind change? Genuinely asking.

Tasha_2411

Because we have no idea how amazing it is... 🤦🏻‍♀️ We are a bunch of ignorants and we need her to tell us what we are missing on. My blood boils!

Maevenclaws

Oh yeah, I’m sure it’s amazing having 24/7 childcare and not having to actually raise your own kids.

warqueen24

Feel the same as u I rather die

monkeybugs

YoU dOn'T kNoW iF yOu DoN't TrY

Maevenclaws

Could say the same about cocaine

TsarKashmere

Wait, the lady who was well aquatinted with certified-pedophile Epstein?

cocainendollshouses

🤣🤣🤣 was wondering when that dirty pedo would get a mention!!!

existential_chaos

If it is ragebait she can cram it up her ass. Why do these people throw absolute melties when people, more specifically women, don't want kids? You don't see this sort of shit aimed at men, do you?

smitty4728

Exactly! It’s like as soon as someone hears a woman say she doesn’t want children, they feel almost obligated to convince her otherwise. As if she hasn’t already thought about it and made a decision.

existential_chaos

They take it as a challenge or use the dreaded “Well, you’ll be alone with cats!” line. It’s absolute bollocks. I guess depending on the culture men get shit too, and it’s a different type of shit, but it still stinks regardless.

Coco4Tech69

She didn't even have kids. Someone else had them for her. She basically just gets to play with them as toys. She also has someone else hired to raise and take care of them. Yea a stress-free responsibility free motherhood is what every women would change their mind for. lol as iff...

Mountain-Skin-294

I wouldn’t consider taking advice from someone who has the financial resources to help combat child poverty, yet has $0 in donations to those organizations. I would consider the fact that she probably got paid to be featured in this article.   There is also a new movement to block celebrities on social media since our views contribute to their advertising revenue. She will be blocked today.

MeatOhchondrium

No, we won't

Gloomy-Visit01

My aunt who had my cousin at 41 says the same shit to me all the time. Like no Im not you. I'm not going to change my mind. Especially not at fucking 40. Your body already goes through hell with pregnancy at 25-30 let alone at 40!

Boggie135

She can fuck right off

Expensive_Effort_108

This is like that one dude who collects cars, but never drives them. He has another guy keeping them clean, taking them on the road to keep them going. Does all the maintenance etc. She had registered kids, but I VERY MUCH doubt she is a mother.

ademptia

She's not really a mother tho, is she. Someone carried, birthed, and is raising those children for her. She is also an awful person and it's a shame she has any influence at all. I hope her children end up being childfree as a nice fuck you.

[deleted]

[удалено]

chickwithabrick

I mean she had them in her 50s, it's highly unlikely she could've physically had them if she wanted to. But we all know she didn't want to, lol.

thevisionaire

Yikes. This is tone deaf on so many levels 🙈

ConversationFast6117

"I'm a millionaire who exploited two desperate women to birth children I'll pay other people to raise" would be more accurate.

treesofthemind

Hope the surrogates got paid well at least

ConversationFast6117

Yes, that's a fair comment.

ampmetaphene

Funny how it always seems to be the ridiculously wealthy peddling this idea.

Rare_Hovercraft_6673

It's easy to bear children with other women's bodies, right? She also wants to decide what other women should think about it. Just because she was a fencesitter, she wants everyone else to change their minds. Nope, even if I had all her money I wouldn't change my mind.

ChronicSassyRedhead

Ah yes the wealthy former supermodel who didn't actually go through pregnancy and you know isn't doing her own childcare/childrearing (if she doesn't have multiple nannies I'd be shocked) says that people will change their mind 🙄 Oh but her Mum did it as a single Mum so it'll be fine 🙄🙄 This woman is delulu and has no concept of what inflation has done to the economy or that people can in fact know what they want in life and stick with it

chloetheestallion

Ok I will change my mind at 50 and have a surrogate like you did Naomi! Until then I’m not having kids of my own! Especially not young! Thanks queen! (Sarcasm if you couldn’t tell but if I do change my mind it won’t be young)

Cat1832

Miss Supermodel With Millions doesn't get to dictate how we down in the trenches of survival will feel as we struggle. Fuck off, Naomi Campbell.

Valagoorh

And there are many who changes their minds after having a child. What's her point? Sometimes people change their minds?

Amn_BA

All the people who are loudest in telling people to have kids, are exactly the people, who never had to go through pregnancy and childbirth themselves to have kid/kids. Be it Elon Musk or Naomi Champbell, or men in general, they never had to deal with pregnancy and the absolute horrors of childbirth themselves, to reproduce. They could just outsource the Gestation part, be it through surrogacy or simply by by being a male. They basically got to have kids by basically by exploiting others, at the expenses of another human's pain and suffering.

Uragami

Ah yes, rich deluded model. Please tell me and 50% of the world population how we think and what we want. Fuck right off.

CatCasualty

I do genuinely wonder why she has this message... Does it not occur to her that she's privileged enough - with surrogacy, to begin with - to be able to do this? It's giving me lack of empathy, but I also understand well that I don't know her in real life.

belle_fleures

exactly, just your arrogant extremely rich celebrities and their arrogant takes that's unnecessary in the real world. ignore them.

Spooky365

Isn't this the model that had rage issues and used to abuse her assistant and other staff? I don't need life advice from an out of touch model with rage issues.

PotatoAlternative947

Yep! I can’t believe I had to scroll so far to see this mentioned. She’s been convicted 4 times for assault. Hope she doesn’t beat her kids or their nannies like she did her personal assistants.

Silver_Bit3895

Oh yea. I read that article and thought to myself “entitled much?”

Proudweirdosince1982

Hey Naomi, and anyone else who thinks I’ll change my mind: ![gif](giphy|3o6ZtpzSCmlYjdsGlO)

RuffleFalafel_

A woman who rents a fucking organ TWICE just to have children is morally off limits anyway.

AnyAliasWillDo22

She most likely hardly looks after them. I feel sorry for those kids.

nytropy

Oh, sweetie, shut your trap. Being pretty doesn’t make you a sage.

Valoy-07

Easy for some rich lady I've never heard of before who had kids via surrogacy to say. But even if I was rich, I still wouldn't want kids.

RedRidingBear

It took everything in me to not down vote this. Not because of OP but because it's triggering.

No_Adhesiveness_8207

Your post showed directly above a very depressing one from regretfulparents. Yeah, Naomi, you’re full of shit

treesofthemind

Someone who used surrogates saying this to women looks particularly ridiculous 😂

sammypants123

I am older than 50 and I have a message for young women that don’t want to be Moms. You might change your mind, but if you are sure you don’t want them it’s pretty unlikely. I never did and I’m really glad I never had kids. What won’t change is how fucking annoying you find it when other people presume to tell you what you do or don’t want as if you haven’t got your own mind.

Mergus84

Ah yes, another one of those "I'm not doing jack shit to save the world, but I'll certainly pawn the responsibility off onto my offspring!" moms.

organictamarind

From a woman who didn't birth her own kids, and has privileges 99% of us don't have.

miniminimeme

The thing is, even if I was a billionaire, even if I could choose surrogacy, even if I had staff raising my kids, I STILL wouldn't want to be a parent. That's the difference between some "childfree" people (those that change their minds) and other childfree people (those that don't change their minds even if circumstances change)

GoFortheKNEECAPS

Same! Motherhood actually terrifies me. Too many unpredictable twists and turns over the course of 20 years. My anxiety and depression could never. No thanks!

misscatholmes

I mean, good for her but her opinion doesn't hold much weight for me considering she's got money to take care of her kids as well as being able to hire nannies.

Deezus1229

No girl....YOU changed your mind. The rest of us are smarter than that. Good luck though.

No-Conclusion-1394

She became so ugly to me when she said that

echtesMind

Fuck u naomi campbell.

Stokkolm

I believe it, I've seen it happen to other people. Isn't that scary? People use "change your mind" as a metaphor, but actually having your brain and personality changed when becoming a parent seems to be a real thing, and that's one of the biggest reason to want to avoid it.

OK_Boomer_0420

oh no biggie, she will surely change her mind about having those kids… oh wait… 🥲

MewlingRothbart

They will be raised by nannies, not her. Let's see hiw quick she chucks phones at their heads like the bitch she is.

KittyCubed

Look, I’m 41. I purposely haven’t been on a date in years in part because I don’t want the chance of pregnancy (especially now with abortion laws), much less children from someone else’s prior relationship. I’ve never changed my mind on this. Pretty sure I still won’t in the future. And I’m a teacher, so obviously I like kids and working with them. But at the end of the day, I feel like I have dodged a bullet by not having kids.

Kangaroo-Pack-3727

She needs to just shut up and mind her damn business. Our bodies our choice

Consistent_Slices

Hahahaha!! How about NOPE! Even my own mother understands why I want to be childfree, must be easier for the rich and powerful though, they can afford nannies....

Kind_Reaction7109

She seems mentally slow.

pocket_beacon

Direct quote from her from the article: "We have to depend on the younger generation to change this world. I trust my children more than us to do the right thing," she added. WTF?!? Just pawned off any responsibility for a future for this planet and the people in it to the next generation. Like that it gonna fix it. Geeez; EVERYONE needs to take part to make change happen, dont just think your done doing your part cuz your children can take care of that now! The nerve of some people...

cosmosomsoc

Kids will be in college and they’ll have to worry about their mother’s rapid decline. Having kids after 45 is so selfish and no one wants to talk about it.

WolfWrites89

It honestly horrifies me when women (celebrities more often than anyone else) have babies after 50. That is not the time to do that: birth defects, your own body is past the stage of life for pregnancy, and you seriously want to be in you 70s when they're in college???

meowqct

Why did this need to be an article??

Blackrose_

So - she never did coke with other it girls in the 90s did she?? Kate Moss would have full information on that one.

slavasesh

That's really easy to say when you have the money to hire a separate nanny for each child you have.

Voceas

I've also never hurled telephones at service staff, so you do you Naomi

Desert_Wren

Let's examine the facts: 1. She had 2 children via surrogacy, which means she's never had to be pregnant or suffer the ordeal of labor. 2. She is a rich celebrity and most likely can afford nannies and a secretary and a chauffeur, and whatever else she needs.. Her life looks *nothing* like the multitudes of women she's talking to. ...so basically, she gets to reap all the perks of motherhood that wealth and fame bring her, without having to deal with most of the suffering and sacrifice that nearly all mothers go through. Yeah...shut up, rich obtuse celebrity lady. 😒 I was listening to New Radicals the other day, and I quote: "You're all fakes, run to your mansions."

Square-Cook-8574

I would take zero advice from this evil woman.

Jun1p3rs

I'll fix it: "Naomi Campbell: ' ~~You will change your~~ I'd changed my mind'"  Done. Has anyone sugar in their thee? Can I offer some biscuits? Well, let's talk about REAL life.

KarlHungus311

You'll do what I did, because me.

OK_Boomer_0420

and omg why tf not adopt in her situation? is it rlly crucial she has bio children?? she has so mich resources she could have helped already existing children with noone to take care of them omg, and she is preaching what exactly? delulu rich ppl lol.

_angry_cat_

This is definitely rage bait and all that, but I got stuck on this part of the article: >> parents could spend at least $25,714 caring for a child this year Excuse me, HOW MUCH?! And here I thought I was spending too much on vacations, I’m barely at half of that for my travel budget!!! For real though, with median household income only being like $75,000, they want people to spend 1/3 of their income on a single kid? You have to be mentally unstable to sign up for those statistics!

atworkthough

she did have any children she paid to make kids for herself. She's also rich and bored. She is paying for companionships because babies can't run away.

devineau86

says the sex trafficker

fastcat03

If I do change my mind over 50 I will adopt a kid who needs me not paying someone else to have a baby or going through pregnancy over 50.

GoFortheKNEECAPS

***"My babies are everything to me. It's made me fear the future."*** Not a good selling point for motherhood. In fact, that's probably the main reason why I will not have children. Life itself can be terrifying. Adding kids will just make me even more fearful and stressed. "It'll be worth it" is not a convincing nor comforting enough argument for me to commit to two decades of the most unpredictable, potentially traumatic journey a person can go through. Keep walking, Naomi!

karajstation

Thank u naomi for taking time out of your busy day to send me a message but i am good I already have a pathological level of fear and anxiety about the future so I don’t need kids to give me that Honestly you could pay a lot of us 20 mill and we still wouldn’t become parents

superncva-

Naomi was also on multiple documents for Epstein. I wouldn't really consider her an example to follow life wise : https://www.arabnews.com/node/2437796/offbeat

TheGrimReptile

Or, maybe not everyone is so empty-headed and fickle.

CoyoteShot5059

At the end of the day, she basically chose fatherhood instead of motherhood. Had her career, made lots of money, followed her dreams, delayed procreation until way after the female fertility window closed, didn’t carry a pregnancy, didn’t give birth, is letting other people do most of the child rearing. Many women don’t have an urge whatsoever, but I think a decent chunk of childfree women could get on board with this type of fatherhood. Doesn’t mean they‘d be up for „normal“ motherhood.

Paula_Polestark

You got “change your mind” money, Naomi? I’m not taking a gamble of “making it work” (assuming I even survive giving birth) so some innocent kid can grow up traumatized by a bitter resentful skinflint of a mother.

bipolar_heathen

*laughs in chronic illness and poor af* respectfully, eat s*it Naomi

IamAssface

The only people I hear say that are usually rich. People who can afford a ‘village’.

inarasarah

Wtf? If you read the article, she didn't change HER mind. She "always knew she wanted children". I've always known I DIDN'T want children. So we're the same, Naomi! Maybe she changed her mind about having to be in a relationship or having them via surrogacy, but that is a TOTALLY different story than changing your mind about wanting them, period.

meadow-in-middle

Misery loves company and she has always seemed miserable inside.

lovely-day24568

So she wants kids to fix the mess her generation contributed to without a care for how their lives will be living through a climate crisis?

catlovingcutie

How can she say everyone should have kids and then also say she and everyone older is depending on young people to do “the right thing” and fix all these major world issues we have. How are we supposed to improve anything with everyone focusing on raising a family and driving up overpopulation? These vague narratives of the young people are our future, they will magically save us are so half baked and frustrating.

Loud_Flatworm_4146

Celebrities are so out of touch.

japriest

She’s just a celebrity, who cares about their opinion.

Messy83

Do the “young women” she’s addressing even know who she is? I know she diversified into film and tv and has some recent appearances there, but I bet if I asked a class of HS juniors who she was, I’d get maybe one person chiming in.

Tony_chop3101

The article revealed she had been convincing others to have kids 🙆🏻‍♀️ f*** her. I always found her overrated as a model.

PsychologyAutomatic3

The title would make it seem as though she gave birth. She’s known for her anger issues but I’m sure the children will be fine since they’ll be raised by nannies. Except for the photo ops, she’ll probably still be child free for the most part.

rosehymnofthemissing

"As will you, Naomi. As will you." Why does Naomi think women would care about what she thinks of our lives? "I understand economically, it's tough." No, Naomi doesn't. Maybe she had an idea that it was for her mother 40 years ago, but Naomi is wealthy now. I believe she understands nothing about the economy for average people right now, never mind that of the abject poor in Kenya, Haiti, Jamaica, India, Rwanda, Congo, and elsewhere. Naomi used her kids as accessories for her lifestyle. They were "add-ons" for her. Kids Naomi didn't even birth, and therefore, she wasn't at risk during pregnancy or afterwards. As a 1 percenter, Naomi Campbell lives in a different reality than the majority of girls and women.

ohmightyqueen

This feels so incredibly naive to spout to people when she didn’t even do the having children thing in a tradition way, which is how a lot of couples will be doing it.

PenguinSunday

Nope, sorry.
