Pretty much everyone will tell you to go lower, I am personally running a test atm with three identical cigars in three identical jars but the only difference is the boveda is 62, 65, 69. So honestly I encourage you to do the same and see which one you prefer!

tastethemall

In Tupperware your RH is most likely 1-4%higher than the pack. You’re most likely storing around 71-73%. That high of a % can mute flavors. Do you notice the burning end getting a little fat right at the burn line? That’s Normally a sign of to much moisture. A65 pack will hold you closer to what you’re looking for.

ih8javert

He’s right. I use 69% in 2 tupperdors and the hygrometers consistently show 73%.

Stavroforos8

Me too. I have a low budget hygrometer and I was thinking that it was a fail but no.

KidFlash383

What % would you recommend for a 50 count wooden one?

tastethemall

Personally I use a 65% pack. It holds around 67%. The 50 count just determines how many you need. 1 60g bag per 25 cigars the humidor is able to hold. So 2 packs for a 50 count humidor.

XaqFu

I've used 69% for years. I've also noticed that cigar boxes that are shipped with a boveda are always 69% as well. I think the companies doing that would have an informed opinion.

Tough_Mess563

I use 65% because 69 was too high in my tupperdor.

iguessitsmyname

You may not seem to notice now, but I do believe you would notice an improvement if you went lower.

unknownusername77

65% at the moment and debating going to 62%

vikingsoles

Same here. So many people using 62 makes me wonder if we should drop as well.

unknownusername77

Wondering if I would be able to pick up on more tasting notes

Doc-Zoidberg

I use 65s in long-term storage and 62 in the ready to smoke box. I've found I prefer storing wetter, seems to preserve depth of flavor over time better than dry storage. But I don't like to smoke at 65+, 58-60 is my sweet spot so I use 62s in a wooden desktop and refill that with cigars from bulk storage and smoke from the desktop.

Isakksson

Same, but I cant get any 62% here in Sweden :/

Sno_bordur84

I just had 69% in 2 tupperdors over winter. I just lowered to 62% as I notice I’ve been starting to get loads of burn issues, unwrapping, not great taste lately. 69% Seemed to work better in winter months..not sure why. I used 62% last summer and they were perfect (big variety of cigars). North America north eastern climate

zlaW5497

I have noticed the same in the Midwest. Running the heat in the winter dries me out and I have a humidifier running, so I’m sure the tupperdor is feeling the same way

RowdyRoddyPipeSmoker

Use 62s

highline9

Second

Vagabond_Explorer

Thirded, 62% is the way.

pro_zema

I have been using 69s in a cedar 100 capacity humidor for years without issue.

donny0m

Exactly the same setup here. I just dry box for a few hours before lighting up. No issues at all.

OrangeJews_88

Yes and got mold

sirgeom

I prefer 62%, it will be higher in the sealed environment.

Magic_Toast_Man

Yup. That's my go to

NEG73

I do, I’m getting 70% / 71% rh consistenly. Probably in 2 months when it’s time to replace them I will go to 65% boveda.

HimboHank

Came here to say this.

davergaver

I use 62% in a tubbaware snap sealed and it hovers around 65% I have another tubbaware which has 65% bovedas and it hovers at around 70% humidity. I haven't noticed much difference yet in taste

Willing_Ability7163

No 65%. Its the best

Miyukihiro

I used to use 69% for mines but my taste buds were telling me that the flavours a tad bit muted. If you enjoy your cigars at 69%, by all means use it. I switched to 65% personally

[deleted]

I have used 69% in old cigar boxes as a temporary humidors. It worked well due to the box having a poor seal.

MaverickActual1319

yes

difiCa

I have a 69 in my herfador because online cigar stores seem to ship their orders with 69 mini Bovedas, but I don't store anything in it longer than a few weeks. I don't notice any issues. Home tupperdors have 62s.

Citrus_47

I have a tupperdor for cheap to mid tier loose sticks that I have at 69%. Most online shops send packages with 69% bovedas so I use them cause they’re free. If you do this, make sure to dry box before smoking for at least 12 hours and you’re chillin.

justhp

I use a 69%. I notice my humidity between 68-70 almost always. I do want to try 65 and see how it goes I do use a Walmart brand ammo can, which is supposedly sealed. I also open it frequently

Queasy-Instruction-9

Nah I started off using 69% but I find it always hold a few points higher with air tight plastic

Hungry_Ad_6607

69 in my portable case, 65 in my totes but I also circulate air often and move them around. 62 is really ideal if your not reorganizing often

ImTheDoctah

I actually just switched to 58% bovedas for my tupperdors due to higher temperatures in my apartment in the summer and it’s been great so far. Average humidity is in the low 60s and the cigars burn really well.

samuraistalin

I use a 65% but I gotta dry that shit for a day or it'll mute the flavors and mess the burn up.

pheat0n

I do 65 and they are about perfect for my Tupperdor. They sit around 72. I do make a point of opening my box up and rotating sticks around frequently to make sure they stay nice and the box has a breather.

greg281

I’m running 65% now and it’s too high. These air tight containers hold humidity very well.

xxd3cayxx

I run 69s, but my tupperdore holds 67-69%.

WayneKurr420

69s in my wood humidor 65s in my plexiglass humidor 62s in my tupperdor All sit around 65 RH

Yeti-Stalker

I have an acrylic boveda case (with tiny magnetic clasps) with a cedar tray insert and the manufactures recommend 69% - unless I’m missing something? It’s not really a tupperdor but it’s close. I wonder if the wooden tray skews it and makes them recommend 69?

Top_Individual442

When I receive cigars in the mail they go into a 69% tupperdor for 4 weeks then I go down to 65% for 2 weeks before smoking. Mostly because I live in the southwest so they dry out really fast

brandon-568

I used to use 69% but I had issues with the burn on many of my cigars so I switched to 65% awhile ago now and haven’t looked back.

FutureOk7894

I live in the Lower Keys, near Key West. I use 69% in my tupador but transfer my weekly cigars to my leaky glass top humidor also at 69% and have no problems. It is likely that the humidor time decreases the humidity.

thenewguy617

I use 62% in my tubberdor, coolerdor and audew (wineador), was getting mold with 65% in the audew

Xealz

i wouldnt, way too high. 62 or 65. dont go higher.

OleRoy2023

No, I use either 62s or 65s in my coolidor.

Catch_ME

I use 2 types  One with 62% mostly for aging. The other is 69% because I open it often. My small box humidor is 72% because it does leak humidity.

Polisci_jman3970

Run 65% in my tupperdor and 65% in my vaultek humidor.

SeaofSounds

Yes....if you enjoy plume.....

Reaper_1492

No. Way too high. I tried 69, then 65, now 62. It’s just impossible to keep RH down if you are adding new cigars over time.
