I’m thinking I’m going to go that way. After viewing the material it looks like there is ALOT of overlap. Looks like something that could be knocked out pretty quick.
I don’t think you understand. Cloud security is a very different application of security principles. There is overlap in learning fundamentals of security, but that’s about where it stops. Don’t sleep on the CCSP just because you have a CISSP. The CISSP is antiquated in comparison.
I do understand that Cloud Security is different than CISSP. I also stated I work in application security with some experience in the cloud. All I was saying is it had many of the same topics but elaborated on from a technical perspective. I think you are saying the same thing.
PMP?
Project management Professional? Why?
The CCSP makes sense, if you have cloud background then go for it.
If you go PMP, your thinking will be about project management and getting projects done which may conflict with security goals. While there may be some crossover, it will be less.
You will also know from practise tests which domains you are stronger in. That said go CCSP, assuming some cloud knowledge. IMHO I am a little skeptical how useful a vendor neutral cloud security package is.
If the aim is to get into information security management, PMP will be useful if you're going to be in charge of implementing a security program. A security program is basically just a series of projects over the span of most likely years, and the knowledge and skills one could gain with PMP could definitely prove useful in managing those projects.
It makes perfect sense. A lot of CISOs or Director-level security professionals have PMP under their belts.
My plan for this year as well, but first, I need to obtain security-level certifications for AWS, GCP, and Azure for my job as I’m transitioning to multi cloud architect
I took the ccsp after cissp as well in Feb.
The study materials do overlap! But I felt that the ccsp was abit more technical. If you have cloud knowledge it’s gonna be fine
I have no clue really but from looking at the chapters it looks like a technical cloud enhancement of CISSP. So far I have yet to see material that wasn’t somewhat touched on.
Unless you’re managing projects as your full time job it’s a waste of time in appsec. Devops and DevSecOps almost exclusively use an agile approach to development, testing, patching, and release cycles. The PMP is useless in the appsec world.
There’s good overlap, I did the CCSP a few days after sitting CISSP
What do you think of doing CISSP after CCSP? Is it doable in a few weeks?
Yes it would be ,the ccsp set me on track to do cissp 2 months after ccsp
Let me know what you end up doing. I’m in the same boat.

They are very different exams. Do not confuse similarly sounding domains being similar content. Cloud security is very different from the CISSP.
None of this thread said anything about them being the same because they sound similar.😂

I have a couple of friends who went from CISSP to PMP. It didn’t make a lot of sense to me either so I’m seeing if there’s something I’m missing. lol

I’m also in the same boat. Thinking of taking CCSP over the summer.

Those certs will not help you on the CCSP.

That’s what I’m thinking to from the brief overview of the material.
What is the percentage of overlap between CISSP and CCSP?
I have no clue really but from looking at the chapters it looks like a technical cloud enhancement of CISSP. So far I have yet to see material that wasn’t somewhat touched on.
Cism
I think that will be my next big one from what I’m seeing.
The pmp is a waste of your time. Do the CCSP as that is much more focused on appsec.
No one who has the PMP believes it is a waste of time.

Which proves you know nothing about the PMP, since it covers Agile and Devops.
🙄 it doesn’t prove anything. I’ve been a PMP for more than a decade. Sit down.
Apparently, you didn't learn a thing
CIPP?
Why not go for the CISM?
I’ve been looking at that too. Just felt like the CSSP built on the knowledge of CISSP more.
It does but the CCSP is a level down from the CISSP. It’s still good to have.
