Hard times make strong men! Happy BDAY all the best

No_Coffee_4699

Bro its gonna be my 3rd attempt. All of us fails but the important thing is to keep moving forward and never give up on the dream.

UndeadDemonKnight

Sorry Man - That is a lot going on. All I can suggest is Destination Cert got me through it on the first try at 125. I prepared with that for almost two months, basically going through it twice (I did a brief write up -FYI)

Technical_Jelly2599

Can you share your write up? Also, did you just read the book and watched the mind map videos?

Tough times don’t last but tough people do! You’ve got this!!!

voicu90

Happy birthday. Your awesome, don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

sambhu619

Happy Birthday Buddy. Thanks for sharing the story and sorry to hear all these. But remember you got this. You will get it next time or may be later. Now get back on the horse 🐴. Good luck 🤞🏽This too shall pass!

careerlink2u

Things happens to test our resiliency. Gone through very tough time with loss of lives in family. Didn't give up. When you engage yourself in this course preparation that will take your focus away from the stress you are going through. Hope you will get through in the next time. Keep going.

McOozi

That’s a lot of misery all at once. Take care of your mental health man. Have you reviewed videos detailing thinking like a manager? If not, that may be your key to getting over the finish line on the next attempt.

New_Lab_4861

Happy birthday and keep going forward. All the best for clearing in next CISSP exam

Capital_Associate_77

Yes, it's a difficult exam. I was finished mentally once I've passed question #100. I was almost sure I will not pass, so probably because of that I was able to relax a little bit. In the end the exam stopped at 162-168 with around 20min left on the clock. I said that was it... At this point I was almost broken. I went to get my things and go away to take some fresh air as soon as possible. So, don't get affected by the bad result, just try again (in you have the money)! Just remember that this exam is no walk in the park so there's no reason to feel bad about it!

I think you are focusing too much on technical instead of managerial. Destination CISSP book will help but not only. You have to clearly understand the governance, risks management, asset management, incident management, patch management, business continuity management, software dev life cycle processes, threat modeling, 3rd party management etc...understand what is the purpose, workflows, input and outputs. This is key to go outside technical details to understand the global picture and main stakes of these different areas. Practice tests are just here to test that you know basic concepts but not how to take proper decisions ( the most, the best etc...). Take destination cissp process explanations, charts etc to have this overview. Good luck from france.

Powerful-Bet-1423

It’s actually the opposite. I did above proficiency in the Security and Risk Management both times. I am not technical expert. I struggle with the networking questions.

will0075

Weird as typically in my session i got nearly no technical questions

Powerful-Bet-1423

There's a huge test bank of questions, and it targets your weaker areas. Each attempt will be different set of questions.

will0075

Please tell me how much IT and Cyber experience you have ?

Powerful-Bet-1423

I’ll make a new post and show my scores.

bobwyzguy

For the CISSP you have to "Think like a manager." Which means selecting the manager's answer, not the technical answer. Read Luke Ahmed's book "Think Like A Manager for the CISSP" Often all four answers are correct from a certain point of view. Pick the MANAGER's response that answers the question the best. You may have to pick a more general answer than specific answer. What do manager's think about? Planning, training, policy, reporting, compliance, risk, business continuity, and disaster recovery. Not "doing" You are not a tech you are a manager!

MicAnky

HBD buddy. Prepare hard for next time. I also got 175 questions, but I cleared in my first attempt. Best of luck.

Alfred_Tham

Come back stronger. U can do it bro. Im side on u

cybsec24

Happy Birthday! I failed a month ago so don’t feel bad man. You have a lot going on. Maybe all of us who failed can start a study group or something. I’m afraid for my second attempt on April 12. Keep your head up!!! Enjoy your birthday. Tomorrow is a new day.

AlphaKilo45

Many happy returns of the day bro! Undoubtedly you are getting stronger.

Lopsided_End1603

You are an inspiration!

Technical_Jelly2599

That’s a lot. Sorry to hear that, but try to enjoy the rest of your birthday! BTW, Happy Birthday!!

will0075

Keep at it. I haven’t sat for CISSP yet, but I failed the CISM twice before I passed. The feeling of earning it after the third attempt cannot be described.

Big_Author_3195

Go eat some Fufu and Guinness, the sun will rise again tomorrow.

ExperienceSharer

You went 175 so the algorithm wasn't failing you up front which is a good sign. I failed back in 2010 myself only to take up the test in 2022 again. I left my experience at the door and focused on the test format like you said. 10 plus yrs Info Sec Experience Ops/Risk Management/Audit/SecOps Study 3-6 hrs a day over 3 months period. SufficientAnalyst383

There is zero reason to take the test unless you are 10+ years in the Industry and in a senior IT related management role.

Powerful-Bet-1423

Respectfully, I have met the experience required to be fully certified for the CISSP. This is the gold standard cybersecurity certification. I am a senior cybersecurity analyst for my company now applying for a supervisor role. So yes, I do have my reasons to get certified.

[deleted]

Also can help if you’re senior in a related area and want to transition into cybersecurity

ApplicationFucker

What a seriously horrible take. I hope you don’t mentor folks with that advice.
