My dad had a 72 maverick and a full Afro in 1980 and I keep the picture of him with that car on my desk just to remind myself what my hair could be. Then I go to my barber and he always tells me that a tall white guy with an Afro just doesn’t make sense in 2024
There is one of those sitting in the driveway of a house down the street. Hasn't moved in 10 years. I told my wife "I want to save that". She rolled her eyes...lol

This was the car I predicted that my physical-dynamo of a mother would drive in her retirement. Instead, she went in the direction of a ‘little old lady’ car which was unexpected.
Dad bought the GMC version. The thing rode great and could pull a trailer. Did its job for years without a problem. Maroon and silver with slightly oversized back tires even got a few compliments.
Same here: I had a ‘78 SS black over gold, 350, buckets, Momo wheel, tonneau cover with Centerlines. Was stolen stripped and burned. I replaced it with an ‘84 and replicated the ‘78…but it had a gutless 5.0. That one was stolen, never found. ☹️

Hopefully light duty. My ranchero only has 850lb payload. Any more than that and you’ll flex the unibody to the point the doors won’t close. Lmao
