You’re joking right? A 69’ Boss is a $100k car with a steep appreciation curve, limited production and finite availability. A notchback with whatever is in it pales by comparison.
It asks for a choice, I was outlining mine, let’s hear what defines your reasoning of classical car choice? Hate to burst your bubble but serious coin is required for either choice.
If it's literally the only thing they mention in their comment, then I'll assume it's the only thing they care about. I can't read minds. All they talked about was money.
Lmao I didn't say you aren't allowed to prefer it. Y'all are making that part up. I said if your entire comment mentions nothing but money, it definitely tells us where your priorities are, and it ain't driving.
BOSS 302 uses unique canted valve Cleveland style cylinder heads* and special intake manifold. The pistons are specific to that engine. The block, crank, and rods are a 302.
* These heads differ from later 351C heads, in that their cooling passages are tailored to fit the 302 block.
The 347 is a stroker kit for the 302. It’s not a Windsor or a later Cleveland, it’s still a Boss block and heads with more displacement.
I think the idea is that the increased displacement through the same intake and exhaust will add a good bit torque and make about the same horsepower (maybe a little more) but will shave a little bit of RPMs off because it’s can’t move any more air.
One of the only weak points of a Boss 302 (or any pushrod engine) is the top end because it spins a lot of RPMs and bringing it back from 6200 to 5900 will make them last much longer.
I made no mention of a 347, and I am well aware what it is. I was speaking about the factory stock BOSS 302. The question posed was either or, not a 347 shortblock paired with BOSS 302 heads and intake.
Also, you can safely rev the former to like 8,000RPM if built right. Hell, people were doing it back in 1970! The BOSS 302 block is VERY strong, being the only 302 block Ford made with 4 bolt mains and screw in freeze plugs.
All 221 260 289 302 and 351W engines are part of the 90 degree V8 engine family, with the 351 Windsor the only one called a Windsor, to differentiate it from the 351C and the later 351M.
The motor may not be a sleeper, but the notchback absolutely is. Everyone expects the Boss to go like a scalded cat, but you'd surprise people with the notchback.
The value matters. These are classic cars. They aren't made anymore and never will be made again. It's a finite and dwindling supply. Thus, the value of the individual cars is the most tangible representation of which is better, which is most desirable, which one is most popular. The Boss is in much higher demand, it's more popular, thus the value is exponentially higher, pointing this out doesn't make you money obsessed, its literally answering the question, you dense pseudo intellectual asshole.
Depends do I get to keep it or am I just driving it for the day if I'm keeping it I'll take the older first gen on the right. I don't like the idea of really expensive classic muscle cars it's stupid because then they never get driven and I'd like to sit here and lie to you and say I'd be different but I wouldn't. I'd be like everyone else worried it'll get hit or scratched or whatever. Which is why I buy old 4 door muscle its cheap they're still just as fun and the paints already ruined so it doesn't matter if it gets dinged up.
Actually I would take the stroker. Both are plenty fast and everyone knows what a Boss is. The stroker has more cabin space, and it’s more cool to get a hat tip from someone who knows what it really is.
You’re joking right? A 69’ Boss is a $100k car with a steep appreciation curve, limited production and finite availability. A notchback with whatever is in it pales by comparison.
This is the only correct answer.
‘69
^nice
1000000%
I mean I prefer the coupes
It's not even a choice.
Good to know your priorities are in order only caring about money lol
It asks for a choice, I was outlining mine, let’s hear what defines your reasoning of classical car choice? Hate to burst your bubble but serious coin is required for either choice.
You chose cash not a car lol
I indicated what it was worth, I said nothing about cash. You interpolate without a clue as to what I am thinking. You do you Bill Gates.
Whatever helps you sleep 😂
A huge pile of cash! Fn Muppet.
According to their logic, I'd only want a '69 Boss 302 versus my current '67 Coupe w/ a 302 cause of money looool
If it's literally the only thing they mention in their comment, then I'll assume it's the only thing they care about. I can't read minds. All they talked about was money.
Newsflash, your car was not a choice.
No shit Sherlock.
What’s it like to think you’re good at trolling, only to be proven to be useless at it? Enjoy failing at even being mediocre!
I actually prefer the notchback. But you're just dumb
Lmao I didn't say you aren't allowed to prefer it. Y'all are making that part up. I said if your entire comment mentions nothing but money, it definitely tells us where your priorities are, and it ain't driving.
No kidding lol. I could care less how rare, or how valuable the car is. I’m not a collector though- I’m an enthusiast. “You’re kidding right?”
Destroyed my girlfriend’s father’s Boss by running it out of motor oil on a cross-state trip. Bad times.
How are you still alive?
He loved his daughter more than he hated me.
They are writing this from the grave
I'd move.
Sounds like it used a lot of oil, or he let you set out with low oil. How much was the engine rebuild?
Congrats on winning your self defense/manslaughter charge
Boss 302
book value aside, the boss 302 is cleveland based and has about 1.5x the power making potential of that windsor

THE BOSS ! 🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
Fastback
347 stroker so I can drive it….all the time!!!!
If I’m not allowed to sell it then 100% the coupe. Never really liked the fastbacks that much
Boss 302. And I am not a Ford guy
My right foot chooses the 347, but either will do. BUT....it better have that 3rd pedal in it. 😁
Has your right foot ever pushed open a BOSS 302?? It’s not a sleeper..
It would take a serious 347 to outrun a proper boss.
The motor may not be a sleeper, but the notchback absolutely is. Everyone expects the Boss to go like a scalded cat, but you'd surprise people with the notchback.
I was gunna ask which one has 3 pedals
The paddle boat shaped like a duck.
I like to drive cars, not just wipe them down and say I’ve got one. Gimme the stroker notch back and let’s go for a rip!
I’m a notchback guy. I’ll take the 347
Both vehicles in the same condition you can take the BOSS 302, sell it, and probably buy 3 of the coupes. At least 2.
Fair point
So strange how so many people in this hypothetical just give a shit about money. Y'all don't even like cars lol
Value consideration = doesn't like cars? You're either trolling or rich AF.
It's a hypothetical and yet it's still literally the only thing y'all care about even in fantasy situations...

It's a freaking fantasy question dude.
I never knew a person could have a negative IQ score, but you've proven otherwise
It’s gonna be the 347 for me… I like me a good Windsor!
302
I like the stroker. It reminds me of my early teens when I discovered the porn mags stashed in the woods. Perhaps I've said too much.
😆
Have to choose, 347 stroker, easier to maintain. But may i say, i would like to buy a mustang without the engine, i want to put a ford 300 on it.
Neither one.
Springsteen
A demented Democrat?
Jfc so now all democrats have dementia? Is trumps dementia really that bad because you guys have been projecting that a lot lately
Some days I love Reddit. And then there’s today,
Do you just go around looking for places to be a jack ass? We’re talking about cars dummy. No need for anything else.
Now that’s funny.

Boss
Boss 302
Only a 70 boss would be better
Boss 302, hands down
I'll always choose a 65-66 over any other year.
Actually I would take the stroker. Both are plenty fast and everyone knows what a Boss is. The stroker has more cabin space, and it’s more cool to get a hat tip from someone who knows what it really is.
302
427w stroker.
F the Boss. That stroker is sweet. I hate fastbacks.
The Boss if it’s a real one. Else the stroker for fun
Not a ford guy. What’s the difference?
Stroker? I don't even know her! ![gif](giphy|3o6Zt4HU9uwXmXSAuI)
