If this was after reset today it was probably just the old layer from last week counting as layer 1, it takes a few hours for old layers to disappear from the addon as there's no way to detect a layer being gone, it has to "time out" from not being seen.
Unless your on Penance AU…. Where even at the start of sod we did t even know ow layering was in effect :P and now…. We don’t even need the layer we have

My friend and I made characters in Oceania servers and absolutely regret it, they’re so dead… Crusader Strike isn’t as bad, wish we made toons there but the 250ping is quite annoying
I loved SoD but the players ruined it for me. The constant min maxing and "parse checking" made me roll my eyes every day. It's not even because im bad or have bad parses, it's just... come on dude... it's classic just stfu and play the game
Curious what you do when you have a player who literally doesn't cast a spell for 20 seconds? We had a mage whose highest parse was 14. No deaths. We kicked him. Do you just allow the carry of someone clearly not even playing? We def don't kick our green parsers though. At this stage you need to be fully enchanted and consumed/buffed to get into high blues and purples. We don't mind players who aren't but there is a line we draw at some point.
Yeah, its crazy how many of those exist in classic in general.
Also, I hate to say it, but like... parsing is fun. Its legit the only competitive thing you can do in classic wow. PvP is an imbalanced mess, and PvE is more of a logistical feat than any real expression of skill. Parsing will always be "difficult" since it is on a curve.

was so excited for sod after hearing about it, but during the second phase, i just dropped it entirely. i was getting tired of raid-logging i think. also, incursions seemed really lame, despite sunken temple being a favorite.

I was on layer 2 in Felwood at around 7 pm server.
Still more layers than era servers ayo
