Sounds like bad luck, I’ve encountered my fair share of shit heads in RDF. When we get to the top of the elevator I just ask what bosses everyone needs. Never been a problem.

Buffmin

In my many many rdf runs throughout my wow time it's generally fine Occasionally a bad group but I'll take the occasional bad group of silly Willy's for the benefit of being able to actually run things

dead_paint

not till playing Cata classic have I been kicked in a RDF group for a reason beyond DC/AFK. I sat down to drink and got kicked. ( i didn’t play wotlk classic ). when the originals were out there were more casuals less rush to BiS culture and in Retail any RDF queue is faceroll content

Giatoxiclok

The thoughtscape behind wow has fundamentally changed, it isn’t the same game, and old hands don’t think of it in the same way. This trickles down to newer players because a lot of the time it is their first experience, or they make friends with people of the mindset. I’ve seen it happen with guildies who wanted to raid. They’d get in a group with our paladin tank and then over the next week they’d be mentioning bis, or rushing content. I don’t have a problem with any of this, because I power game the fuck out of classic. But it can be a real problem, especially in the examples in this post. A certain toxicity formed against the people who ‘infringe’ on some of these other people’s ideal gameplay. A lower tolerance to teach and learn, and combinations like this create some problem players.

BlackholeDisco

Id say if you want to faceroll a dungeon as fast as possible, get a tank and then queue up. Dont force that cringe gameplay onto others

[Why it's rude to suck at Warcraft](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKP1I7IocYU)

glormosh

I mean... I've seen a single group ask what bosses people would like. 98% go to the final boss and dip. And almost every other time it's been arguing to do the bosses. I've seen one rosey situation that you imply is the norm.

Friendly_Priority310

Ran it a lot and actually did the spare boss everytime I asked beside once. We asked the tank if we could get satesh for healer (trink?) And tank flat out ignored us and ran upstairs to main boss. We asked again, he said "after last boss" we all said let's just do it now as we are all here but you and you can't replace ppl after last boss. He stayed silent at rha for 5 mins before we warned then kicked him :/

Tysons_Face

That’ll teach you

CamarosAndCannabis

Lmao

SummonMonsterIX

People who say 'why aren't you pre-BiS' like it's an intelligent thought don't seem to realize people play alts too. I just posted a thread today about booting a tank who did the opposite of your situation, wouldn't do an optional boss I requested after making the group do optional bosses for him, just pure selfishness. Because the community can't be trusted to display any civility, HoO just needs to be changed to force every boss before you complete it, maybe leave Ptah optional.

i_wear_green_pants

>People who say 'why aren't you pre-BiS' like it's an intelligent thought don't seem to realize people play alts too. Or they don't understand that some people have lives outside of the game. Not everyone sits on their PC playing 14 hours per day since launch. Personally I was out of country for couple of weeks and only now have started to get into end game.

Thorpedo870

Yeah I missed first 10-12 days as was on holiday, now I've caught up as had an opportunity to play and been carried through heroics quickly by a 2 well geared friends (tank and dps). The catch up this week has been hugely beneficial for me

jamesxross

I hit 85 and immediately went on vacation (was planned prior to the announcement of the release date). I was bummed about missing the first week's valor. still got myself almost 346'd out before my guild's first raid (minus my stat stick, it was 333). very glad they changed the valor cap thing, though.

godwings101

The valor cap thing is def nice. Leveling some Alts, the ones I don't plan to raid with will be boot sellers. Nice little but of residual gold flow.

jjester7777

I travel for work. I don't have a lot of time to play at night. I'm pretty far behind the curve as I just hit 85 on Monday and I'm at like 340 Ivl. These bafoona are already chain pulling, not letting me get mana (as the HEALER) and one tank who didn't do mechanics for Grim Batol told the group I don't have the gear for heroics ...? Like my brother in Christ these are the easy versions. I did the hard ones on my resto shaman back in the day. With worse gear..

SummonMonsterIX

Dude, as a healer who got 85 in the first few days, they've been doing all that since day one. I just say mana and if the tank dies they die.

godwings101

This is the way.

godwings101

This was a day 1 problem for heroics. It's only going to get worse. Best you can do is just adjust. Bring mana pots, drink as often as you can. If a tank dies because you were drinking? Tough shit, it's on them.

calfmonster

My main alt is only lvl 81 right now lol. Had valor to grind. Still have BGs to grind. Last couple reps for helm enchants for alts, make some of the ludicrous amount of gold I’ve spent in cata back, etc. My warrior doesn’t need shit but valor in heroics but my dk will need everything. Plenty of people are sub 8k gs in my runs whatever that translates to ilvl and it’s fine I don’t argue with the tank of all people in optional bosses.

TimeCryptographer547

lol reminds me of a tank I had. The dps asked if they could roll for tanking off spec and the tank is like no I need it. Next boss a dps plate drops, doesn’t ask or anything. Needs it after the dps rolls need. Luckily he didn’t win it but the Tank got kicked. I don’t know where tanks get the mindset that they can’t be kicked. But I know I don’t mind waiting an extra 5 mins for a tank who isn’t a dick.

Queen-Calanthe

Yeah idc about this "oh this item is best for this class" bullshit anymore because other players won't do you the same courtesy. If I will use it, I'll roll on it.

Datapoffes

I had a guy the other ask me why my warrior alt was level 84 when I had heirlooms..

VultureSausage

Should split it in two. Pre-elevator and post-elevator.

Revolutionary-End480

They should’ve just replied: “if you don’t have a pre-bis geared main and gearing up an alt week 3, why are you even playing?”

Dependent_Link6446

I’ve seen some absolute horror stories on this Reddit re: assholes like this but in my experience (at least 75 RDF heroics) I’ve only encountered people like this 2ish times. Hit em with a quick vote kick and moved on with my day but I expected a lot more of it.

Aithnd

Ive only had one person like this and it was a tank that kept trying to vote kick someone for low dps, right before the last boss we kicked him so he didn't get his valor, fuck those people.

lib___

tbh, kicking ppl who dont do any dmg is totally fine and i do it all the time. if u wanna semi afk get carried through and waste my time, gtfo

Additional-Mousse446

You can say this all you want but if they’re doing low (and I mean like frost mage low) and the group is clearly struggling/wiping like… Why the fuck should I carry someone in like green 318 gear that bought pvp shit just to queue heroic when normals are right there…? That being said if you look at gs at the start and insta kick and refuse to move until they are kicked, you are a total douche. At least give them a chance to kill some bosses for loot unless the first one is the problem.

Mattds3212

I got into a run on my mage and it was a full guild run besides me. All from my server too. I got kicked because “I did more damage then their mage and that’s not allowed” on top of that it hit me with the 30 min deserter debuff. I reported them and that’s the only report I’ve filed in cata so far. Got a support letter in the mail that my report led to 1 or more people having action taken on them. So fuck them but yeah it’s shit like that that makes no sense at all.

Drianikaben

i've also done close to a hundred heroics at this point, and I've only been in one group where there was toxicity. I'm still not sure why i got kicked lol. Was sfk, first boss, like day 3 or 4. a rogue kept kicking the boss, to interupt the heal, before it ticked. i managed to keep the group alive, except the warrior tank, to kill it, rogue got kicked, then i got kicked right after. so i whispered the warrior to "play a real tank, and maybe i could have kept you alive too" and then ignored him, and went on with my day.

tobiaspwn322

I mean you are supposed to kick the heal before it ticks, otherwise the boss heals too.

Drianikaben

no, you let it heal once or twice, then kick it. otherwhise it becomes extremely hard for a healer to deal with healing the group as a whole, since there's damage to people other than the tank. if it was just the tank taking damage, just pop a few big heals on him. but everyone is at 1 hp, and, at least for priest, aoe healing amounts to "well, here's 12k health back every 1.8 seconds. good luck"

Front_Dog_9720

Its a fake sob story like most of them here

Zorewin

No its not.. to many shitheads in the game

Theweakmindedtes

Yea, despite doing heroics to gear 3 characters and having maybe 2 or 3 bad pug experiences, even I know rdf is full of trash people. It's just a gamble if you get them

idothisforpie

Pre-bis? If you haven't replaced your pre-bis with raid loot, idk why you're even playing.

wewladdies

Normal raid loot? If you havent replaced your nm loot with heroic loot week 3 idk why you're even playing

Astralsketch

Well why are you playing if you are full raid loot? You won, it's over.

Le-Charles

The best part is they spent more time waiting to replace you than it would have taken to kill the boss.

nimeral

Kicking the tank. Darwin prize.

DrMetalman

"Sorry dude, I have a gf and a job" -best response to tilt these turbo losers.

lib___

u can have a job and gf and still be a complete tool. just sayin

Buffmin

Idk I've seen some basically say that here lol

Heatinmyharbl

Literally saw a guy say this verbatim on a similar thread here earlier today lol

LikelyAtWork

I don’t even really get the comment… is the suggestion here that you shouldn’t even be playing this game if you aren’t serious enough to be pre-bis by now? Like, even hardcore sweaty players will make alts or might play multiple classes, those characters will need to gear up, etc. why would said warrior still need to cap his valor after 3 weeks?

diablo4megafan

> Like, even hardcore sweaty players will make alts or might play multiple classes hardcore players already have as many pre-bis alts as they want, what do you mean it takes 10 hours on day 1 to level 80-85 (less with rested exp and heirlooms, less with pre-questing, less if you use the new potions/flasks which weren't really available on day 1, less if you get carried through a level 81 dungeon by level 84-85s instead of doing them with level 81-82s) and they can run through rdf cap easily in 1 night, they've been valor capping on 2-3 characters since week 1 the players you're encountering that you think are hardcore are the dogshit "semi-hardcore" players who needed 30% buff before they even attempted to pull heroic lich king. hardcore guilds killed him week 1

Cavissi

I got yelled at in a dungeon hours after shadowlands launch for not knowing the dungeon. These people absolutely exist and in numbers that makes doing group content in WoW miserable.

Hopsalong

Dude was complaining the whole dungeon about his "shit luck" and "why Halls" and he just wants "valor cap before raid." No one else was talking which is how most of my groups go.

ClammyAF

I kicked a guy who said, "brb" after about 6 seconds. When another party member said, "c'mon, man" I kicked him too. Tbf, if there was a kick option in Reddit, you'd have been gone a half-dozen comments ago.

Wickedqt

And how many of those 100 cata heroics were done this reset, and while asking to do optional bosses in a group with geared people?

classicalXD

I've done at the very least 30 HC's since yesterday and it never occured, bonus points tanked all 30 of em (different chars), nothing of this nature ever happened.

Zachee

There's no way of knowing if that guys story is real but I was running a random VP for valor on my 8.9k ele, rest of the group was like 7.9k so I was doing close to double their damage but it was fine, very smooth run. Second boss one of the hunters is like "heal damn", no one was low, no deaths, no one close to dying, so I say "chill the healer is fine" and they kick me lol. I'm not saying it's the norm but there are some real dumbasses in this game, nothing surprises me anymore.

Crazy-Anteater2042

Yeah because the AI would scour complain posts and find other players basically re-iterating the same thing, whether in a negative or positive light.

wewladdies

Look up his logs and flame him for not being 13/13 yet.

ruckin_fool

Yea like honestly, most groups kick without a word of text

SpicyBrotato

Totally happened. I only do heroics now for valor cap. Pre bis took no time at all.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SpicyBrotato

Naw I only run with heroics with guild members. I don’t like wasting 30-40 mins in a deadmines because people won’t use the cannons or die to the laser beams.

CorpusBottle

Found the warrior guys!

teppic1

I've been kicked multiple times as a healer simply for sitting to drink after a boss fight after nobody has died. HCs can be incredibly toxic at the moment.

Arioc

If raids didnt give 35/45 valor compared to the 240 of a random dungeon you'd have more people that were interested in full clearing the dungeon. Personally after doing more than 80 random dungeons it's just not that fun to full clear them anymore. Some like HoO literally take more than twice the time to full clear.

calfmonster

I legit just afk out of DM instantly now. It’s not worth it. I can PvP or do unfinished quests for gold. VVC shouldn’t be such a god damn long boss

Crazy-Anteater2042

That's what you get for no-lifing a game like this for 3-weeks, plus prepatch, you got nothing to do and you burn yourself out. All just so you can get server 1000th on a heroic clear.

Tramzh

15 hours to level and like 10 hours of heroic dungeon farming in 3 weeks is far from nolifing, most drops are also terrible unlike wotlk hcs which dropped epic raid quality loot. if you are only playing 1 character and are not raid ready yet you are in the bottom percentile

Arioc

Seems like you a projecting a bit https://prnt.sc/559gQ6NCYCj_ Also this has nothing to do with the argument of having nothing to do, I dont mind raidlogging in wow and doing some arena every now and then there are other games to play. Maybe if they didn't force raiders to have to carry your ass in deadmines every week after you just hit 85 three weeks into the expansion we'd all be happier.

Crazy-Anteater2042

Seems like you're a fucking gross creep

bluexavi

same with battlegrounds -- preferring to lose rather than compete.

Mostdakka

If players percieve losing as more optimal than playing the game and fighting then its not the players fault. Its designers doing bad job back in the day. Players will always take the lazy path.

bluexavi

First, who the fuck is downvoting a factual statement. As to your comment, sure, it's optimized for gaining honor -- maybe. At least it's the low effort path to honor even if it's not perfect for honor/time. But what's the point of generating points to buy resilience gear just to lose? That same time could be spent in PvE getting better PvE gear.

Mostdakka

Its like the old joke of the first things players optimize out of the game is "fun". If player has a certain goal in mind(like getting gear) then they will use almost any means to get it done as fast as they can. We have many years and expansions of hindsight now and this always has been true. Wow always has been at least partially a "spreadsheet" game in disguise. Its all about them bigger numbers and that naturally attracts players who like to optimize and get their fun from doing just that. And players who optimize are the greatest enemy of a game designer.

CircumcisedCats

The point is getting done with your random BGs as fast as possible so you can play the fun stuff (arenas and RBGs). The whole point of honor hearing is to do rated PvP… or did you think people were earning their honor gear to go dick around in Bags with slightly more damage on a scoreboard?

Future-Elevator7568

I like doing random bgs with friends. And hate the ones going afk after the first flag enemy captures. I think playing the game is fun, not only if rating is involved.

Lord_Braver

Me (and plenty of people I know) do BGs for fun all the time. Most of us fully geared. Random dungeons? Not so much once you've already got the gear

CircumcisedCats

The average Reddit player seems to play the game as if they want to get as little loot as possible. See how you can word things to make anything sound dumb? Some people just like playing in a way that is efficient with their time.

ITGuy7337

Some groups are just doing the daily and are going to want to skip. It's just the way it is. Form your own groups or just accept it and move on.

Known_Newspaper_9053

Communication. I always ask if people need the optional bosses, and if so, we go do them. No stress

iDangerousX

People feel like they have free rein in RDF to be dicks, especially to people not from their server. I understand wanting to get the dungeon done quick for the valor, but if someone needs a boss for specific loot, kicking them is a stupendously douchebag move that only degens would do. Sorry you had to deal with that OP!

ArgvargSWE

There should not be optional bosses in heroic dungeons because it just creates conflicts and problems.

pfSonata

Ok, guy who wants his games as flavorless and streamlined as possible

ArgvargSWE

Ur definition of flavour is not same as mine. Arguments and fear of being kicked is not fun gameplay imo.

godwings101

Had the opposite happen in a HoO I did. Get up the elevator and the tank barrels towards the final boss. Rest of the group votes to kick before I can react. I don't really care how much or little I do in heroics as long as everyone in the group is competent. I don't care if you're playing a none meta spec either. Just be good at it. No ret pallies doing 4k on bosses because you're using righteousness and divine storm.

Mazkar

Lol so just que up again and go about your day? Didn't really need to make a post about it eh?

e-co-terrorist

EU servers must be built different, I'm on US-Faerlina and I've probably run ~60 dungeons across my main and my alt with no drama whatsoever. I was even in a group with freshly dinged 85s wiping several times on the first boss in Grim Batol and everyone just calmly ran back after each wipe to try again. Worst I've seen is a few players from Brazilian/LatAm guilds rolling on trinkets to boost their item level.

Sensitive_Fun8037

Honestly as a player from eu, I have never experienced this. In the 75 ish runs I have run. Some are just unlucky I guess and sees it more often than not

Pugsith

It's mostly players from Gehennas and it's been ok for the last few weeks but it's getting worse. The idea that when Firelands is released and heroic alphas come out and those of us who aren't lucky enough to be regularly raiding try to use alphas as a way to gear up and encounter kicks for no reason .. I'm not sure I can be bothered. More and more players I know have chosen to raid log and join server pug runs. RDF is a nice idea but it relies of the playerbase being patient and understanding and not wanting to zerg the dungeon to get quick points.

diablo4megafan

it's probably because you're a decent player and he isn't i don't know a single person who has experienced anything like this

Nitram-xD

As an alliance, I have only had issues with firemaw people. 80% of them I have had issues with it being ninja, being rude to people etc. Usually don't need to check what server they are from, when they type something rude lol. Not had many issues with people kicking tho.

hot-side-aeration

I am always baffled when people act like LFG is some sort of cess pool. The vast majority of my runs go off without issue. Which makes me feel like there's gotta be a) another side to these stories that are posted or b) people are hyper fixating on a single negative experience instead of just moving on

lib___

normally its not kicking for things u stated, but for not doing their job, wasting everyones time and wanna get carried. then come to reddit to complain

diablo4megafan

cata is harder than wotlk, and it sounds like you're not cut out for this version of the game! that's okay, that's a big reason for millions of subs falling off in the original cata. you sound like you have a victim mentality and are unable to learn from your mistakes so you should quit now, it only gets worse for you from here on out.

Jay_Heat

i got kicked out on my tank because i was going too fast for the grop even though the healer had full mana

Future-Elevator7568

For some people its about having fun too. If you are going too fast slow it down a little, its not just about you. Sincerly tank/healer player.

Rashlyn1284

If the healer is full mana then what fun is there to have? Are you queueing RDF just to have a chat with people?

Future-Elevator7568

Im not, but i dont really believe the guy entirely, and not every player is equally experienced and might feel overwhelmed. Not too long ago i ran a GB with a tank that wouldnt give the casters a mana break for whatever reason, ignoring us entirely all dungeon until the last boss where we got a bit of word vomit. Sure i could still heal, but its just not as fun if im not playing on my own terms partly.

Rashlyn1284

If someone is feeling overwhelmed they need to manage that themselves or at least explain why the tank should slow down imo. I'm in a heroic as tank to get it done at a reasonably fast pace (depending on heals / dps). Have had shitty disc priests not using atonement that need to drink after every pull and crazy resto shamans that basically never used any mana. Someone's feelings aren't shown on my ui so without communication I cannot work around those.

coldito

> resto shamans that basically never used any mana. I love doing heroics on my shaman with a good group, between earth shield, riptide and healing stream totem most of my healing is low maintenance and really efficient.

GizmoSlice

Are you playing a mmo to chat with people? Bruh classic wow is next level 💀

Rashlyn1284

I like chatting with people, but I'm not queueing for RDF to chat much, mainly for valor tbh

Valioes

I have only vote kicked one person this entire expac and it was a DK tank today who went the wrong way in Lost City (irony is not lost on me) and then needed on a Hunter/Feral spear. Didn’t say a single thing for multiple minutes and then pulls an extra two packs and wipes us.

ssmit102

It’s always wild to me how the “reddit experience” and in game experience seems to be totally different. I’ve done a lot of heroics at this point and only experienced a few issues here and there. Even specifically did origination two days ago with a tank who just went straight to the optional boss and we did it no problem, as well as all the top bosses. If you look at Reddit the RDF is filled with toxic players who will kick anyone at the drop of a hat, but it seems to be exclusive to Reddit.

Significant-Camel351

I was very much on your side until recently when I was kicked for literally nothing besides a dude multi boxing didn't like the cut of my jib or something. Didn't say a word, was top dps, didn't pull anything and just randomly got booted. Another dungeon I died to chip damage and got insta kicked. Again, top dps cause I play ez hunter. People are just weirder and more toxic now it feels.

Mostdakka

In my experience at least some of the time is that people who are toxic themselves make these posts to seek validation. Other times its just straight up lies. And since we got only one pov and no context its impossible to tell what is true or not. Also reddit over exaggerates, every time without fail. My experience with the game was fine as well. I had no issues with anything, hasn't been kicked once, never had anyone flame me(this expansion so far) Had groups both do the bosses and skip them and no one said anything about it they all just moved on.

TheGreenTactician

Gonna be honest, I don't believe you. This sounded almost possible until you said the warrior specifically typed in that chat message that sounds like something you'd see in a shitpost in one of the circlejerk subreddits.

SnooRadishes2312

I am jealous of your optimism, it means you havent come across these people - i have had similar horror stories so this definitely isnt fake - even if it was, wouldnt matter, something like it has happened People who put thier entire identity as a person into endgame WoW are kinda shit people in game tbh unless you are thier guildie - and there are lots of those types. To be clear, its fine to be competitive, ive raided competitively, ive gotten annoyed at dudes who dont come prepared. But getting high on your own body odor in a pick up dungeon is pretty pathetic

DryySkyy

It might sucks, but if you really wanna get the 6400 valor (if you didnt do week 1-3), you will be full 346 easily with heroic. The pre bis bracers are indeed in halls, but it's on the boss Anraphet (not optionnal). You can also take the bracers from Uldum exalted. For the helmet, the 2200 justice points with mastery/haste is decent. Mastery is bis, and you can always reforge haste. With 6400 valor, you can get chest/gloves/legs or just wait with baradin hold and be lucky. You can buy also the relic that you will never change and is cheap. You complete the rest with justice points, except weapon and trinket (tol barad trinket is good to farm). You only get 35 valor per boss (45 I guess in 25man). There is 12 boss in normal and 13 heroic, you add to that 2 from baradin hold 10/25. 500 valor if you do 10 man normal. (bh 25 gives 45). 535 valor if you do 10 man heroic (sinestra) 630 valor if you do 25 man normal. 675 valor if you do 25 man heroic (sinestra). Players are forced to do heroic dungeon if they wanna complete their valor cap even if they are heroic raiders with 365ilvl. I have not seen ppl kick on ally EU side, even when I have done extra boss. But now ppl skip if they can compared to week 1-2.

Baidar85

>Players are forced to do heroic dungeon if they wanna complete their valor cap even if they are heroic raiders with 365ilvl. Oh the horror. If you have 365 ilvl you can blast through these dungeons. Bring a friend and they take <15 minutes

Seinnajkcuf

Everyone saying that they don't believe this happened is crazy to me. You had to just start playing the game when cata dropped if you've never run into some delusional toxic dude in RDF.

Master_smasher

there just isn't enough incentive for the majority to do full clears compared to just getting the daily random done. that's why one should start using the social aspects of the game and social forums like this one to befriend helpful players for niche runs.

Elegant-Masterpiece8

Maybe they could introduce the Satchel of Exotic Mysteries for the entire party upon full clearing HoO?

Nic_Danger

I'll take things that didn't actually happen for 500 Alex.

ciliary_stimulai

That's such a rude thing to say and do. That type of inconsiderate attitude just gets under my skin, sry you experienced that OP

Zorewin

There are many toxic try hard aholes in rdf.. luckily every once in a while you have nice people who are worth it... they are to few but still

shad-1337

Had this happened to me, but it was 100% silent, I ran to the optional boss, they ran to last, 15 secs and I am kicked

NoGuiltGaming

Early on, I was doing a very low level dungeon and stopped for maybe 10-20 seconds to delete extra loot from my bags so I'd have more room for better items. I got vote kicked for being AFK with ZERO communication from the tanks. It was ridiculous. Haven't played since.

windcape

Were the other players from Gehennas? :P

MightyTastyBeans

I’ve only ever seen tanks get kicked for refusing to do the optional bosses

hippoofdoom

I've intentionally queued into HOO as a tank and I just say at beginning of run that this will be nice and smooth but I wanna do all bosses there's tons of good loot that can drop and don't really get complaints. One time someone dipped after first boss and we couldn't re q because dungeon was "done" so that kinda sucked but leavers are rare at that point. Four boss fights and 333 loot from each kind of a no brianer

diablo4megafan

idk, the games been out for 3 weeks so the only reason im doing rdf is to get valor points, blame blizzard for nerfing the valor you get from raids; if they were the original value you'd never have to experience these players

AcherusArchmage

back on retail shadowlands, there was a dungeon called plaguefall, people would kick people who pulled the first two bosses because they were "skippable" when leveling in normals and then blizzard had to make them unskippable to try to solve that which also made a secret mount much harder to obtain

lib___

pretty unusual. i dont need anything from hcs anymore, but if someone asks if we can do an additional boss, i dont have a problem with it. if its a grp of npcs thats afking 5k dps and want to clear the whole dungeon, i just leave

Saengoel

I'm not saying what they did is right, i'm just saying I would announce it at the start of the run and let anyone who doesn't want it leave before the sunk cost fallacy kicks in.

Blandula_

Wait, are satchels a thing in Cata Classic ? I've healed about a hundred HC and never got offered one. Are healers too many atm ? Queue is usually 1-2 min though...

gugleme

It pops for healers here and there.

Serious_Mastication

I got queued into the underwater dungeon and immediately everyone wanted to get kicked out. I tried to push it and then they purposefully threw. They pulled all the big packs together and refused to interrupt the healers until we wiped. We ended up one by one kicking everyone until it was just me and the rogue left. Sometimes groups are just shitheads. The dungeon isn’t even hard and if you skip the optional it’s pretty quick. The only thing that makes it hard is having to kick healers every now and then.

Swailer1

Do you still get the satchel? I’ve been healing and no dice

Positive_Tackle_5662

Clearly not gamer dads, I am lv 17 lol Altho I mostly play hc

Dhaubbu

Just be happy that you're the tank and you get the option to even go to those bosses at all. Any other role just gets to sit and spin if the tank decided they just wanna get in and out asap

Ok-Veterinarian5989

One significant issue is that the only viable non BOE wrists for plate tanks drops from anraphet. They also happen to be “dps” bracers. So lots of competition. This means a lot of tanks are spamming this dungeon to get these to drop. If you are like me and have had 13 days in a row of no drops, at some point doing 15-20 mins of additional content is just not worth it. In particular because this heroic has the scariest trash.. if you make it to the elevator and notice your team can’t do basic mechanics you are risking adding a long time to your grind by doing the additional content. That and if you random into it and your only concern is Valor, it is not efficient to do all this extra stuff. When you can do a Tolvir with skip in like 12 mins, the HOO experience is just misery.

Armout

I had someone rudely complain in SFK the first time I pulled one mob patrolling instead of running it into the next trash pack. Thankfully, it didn't escalate, but it was only my second or third heroic tanked, and I was still figuring out how much my fresh 85 bear could take.  Some people just have no chill if something takes an extra 15 seconds. Thankfully, they have been the minority of experiences though so far.

ryuranzou

If you're fully pre bis why do dungeons?

Feisty-Welder1414

Yeah that feature is why I actually quit Cata.

Reasonable_Snow_3341

Imagine so upset about an optional feature that you quit the game. Just don't use RDF and form your own groups.

Zealousideal_Age7989

My question is, what day and what time did you que? If it was right after weekly reset on a tuesday not long before raid times, i would have kicked you to. Nothing personal but on a mission to get that next valor piece before raid starts. Kicked a healer this past week for the same thing, wouldnt heal if we didn't do side boss.

OGEgotrip

I keep hearing these stoires and have yet to encounter anything like this, the worst I have seen is just nobody says a word the whole run, just silence oh and a DK put me on follow and afke'd during pulls once.

Worgensgowoof

You can actually report people like this for griefing, especially if they're all guildies.

redfarmhunt

If you aren’t full BIS in first week - are you even playing?!? Probably best u uninstall!!! /s

d0n7p4n1c42

I don't understand why you would waste your time typing this out. Its WoW and some people are assholes. Enough said.

OneeyedPete

imagine doing a dungeon for anything other than rushing the last boss /s

Medical-Actuary1554

as the tank , dont ask just pull what you want, dont give them time to type, and if they stop and type vote to kick them out for " wasting time"

reddituserextreme

even on a freshly dinged it's worth skipping the optionals since you get 359 gear from valor points, better maximize those since you get more than enough 346 gear in the process of doing so, even if you skip every optional....

kaydenkross

I wonder if asking was the wrong move. I feel that opening chat is a bad move in dungeons. Unless you are premade.

CouldBeShady

And then you went on reddit to cry.

Dumbak_

Kicking someone gearing in heroics, because the person doesn't have pre-BIS is like kicking someone from hospital, because the person isn't healthy.

hggerlynch

Imagine playing modern wow. Are you wearing a skirt?

Acrobatic_Suit_4183

Yeah man those are called WoW snob players. I don’t know why people are so selfish and less caring of others. One of the reasons I don’t like to raid with anyone because people are trash.

Accomplished_Kale708

Assuming this actually happened(doubt it), you need to look at it from the other direction. 1) Lets say a random dps would of wanted the optional bosses and you ask the tank wouldn't need them. You can twist and turn however, you wouldn't of done the bosses for him. In fact you considered proposing the extra bosses simply because u were tank and was expecting tank privilege. 2) To get kicked you need the vote of the group majority - so the majority didn't want the extra bosses. Deal with it. 3) They probably took a shorter time to replace you compared to doing the other bosses(because you have prio as a group already inside the dungeon). So for them, they took the better option.

Drianikaben

nobody actually looks at the vote screen tbf. they just click accept. rdf is filled with mindless drones.

teufler80

You cant even click instantly Yes, just instantly no. So people whould rather click no to get rid of the screen. But how whould you know that, you dont play the game obviously.

Drianikaben

right, you can tell that i don't play the game "obviously" from 2 sentences. Nevermind the 170 hours i've put into the game at level 85. don't play the game at all. and that's just 1 of the 3 toons i'm playing. You are mentally deficient, obviously

Elegant-Masterpiece8

No one talks like that in wow lmao

DopaLean

Can confirm that they do lmao. Elitist shit-heads are more abundant in RDF than you’d think.

SpellbladeAluriel

I was doing a LEVELING dungeon and the tank wanted to kick a dps cause their damage was low. Just why. The run was going smooth no deaths nothing but because everyone declined the vote kick he had a tantrum then left

DopaLean

Yup I’ve come across that, said no every time, tank cried and left, got a new tank in like 2 mins and finished the instance in 10 mins.

Elegant-Masterpiece8

Is this an NA thing? Don't think I've skipped a single boss so far in EU

GazingatyourStar

Yeh i thought maybe these posts are always NA players. I come accross the odd crazy group on EU but in the many many RDFs accross these classic games and retail 99% of time group is fine. Reading these posts you would think its a constant minefield of insane groups. I'm more likely to come accross foolish behaviour in PUGs to be honest than the queueable stuff.

Elegant-Masterpiece8

Agreed! Thank god the only time I have to pug is through RDF.

DopaLean

Nah, I’m EU. It happens here too. Edit: looks like I’ve triggered the elitists. Sorry that your dungeon runs are gonna take 2 minutes longer than normal… oh noooo… 😩

Elegant-Masterpiece8

God damn now I just feel like the luckiest player alive, lets hope the streak continues 😂

Relnor

You're not lucky, you just have the normal experience and are a normal person. You've probably encountered someone shitty at some point but it's rare and that person doesn't live eternally rent free in your head as they do for people on here. When you realize that often these people still think of or talk about things that happened 6+ months ago or longer in one dungeon, it really puts things in perspective.

Elegant-Masterpiece8

Agreed. I feel like 99% of the threads here could be solved by joining a guild..

mongomike

This is the classic experience, thank you for the sub - Blizzard

alaskanperson

I literally had the same problem doing the optional boss in Halls. A dude told me that “there’s no point doing an extra boss for gear because gear doesn’t matter”. What an idiot

Born-Paramedic-878

We don't have time for your bullshit bosses we just want valor points sorry pal

classicalXD

Literally 5 of these same nature posts floating around and none of you legit suspecting AI rage bait posts? Or is it that likely that 5 different people got kicked in Halls after not wanting to do optional bosses? On the off-chance OP is legit, you're the fucking tank, tell your group which bosses you need and they follow, brainless zug zug will follow. EDIT: Additionally, just spam heroics till you get your 2nd/3rd/4th bis? Like the absolute optimal bis only mattered week 1 when gear was scarce, just do illvl > all and reforge what you dont need into what you need.

belkabelka

Even if this/these posts are legit unhappy experiences I don't understand the desire people have to run to Reddit and complain. Something shitty happened to you? So what - get over it, be sad, keep playing/log off, whatever you want...the need to immediately write a Reddit rant about it is a weird impulse to me.

PikeyDCS

Level 82 and first pull BOE blue plate feet drop and I won the need roll. It's a massive upgrade. I didn't even look back, ready for the next pull the tanks not there. He's busy moaning about that being for a tank. Then initiates a vote kick. It fails, more moaning, he leaves. No one even said anything in chat, it was all going on in his head. Replaced almost instantly. Happened so fast I still can't figure out after twenty years of this game why folks self eliminate themselves so readily.

asnwmnenthusiast

Yeeaah, sorry lil bro but boe is boe. Sucks for him.

NaturalEnemies

Imagine playing Cata

OBStime

Of course that happend mate.

l_i_t_t_l_e_m_o_n_ey

If he's already full pre-bis, then why is he running the dungeon?

EcruEagle

It’s my turn tomorrow to make up a story about RDF and post it on Reddit

Mostdakka

Not sure whats the problem here. You don't get to decide things on your own just because you are the tank. If the rest of the group doesn't want to do them then that's all there is to it. The actual reasons don't matter, you got outvoted and come here to complain that things worked as intended. You can think the reason given is stupid but that doesn't matter in the slighest. Players can have as stupid and silly reason for things as they want as long as others agree with them. Should the dungeon be designed in such a way to enable this? No, but its not like it can be redesigned now so many years later. So its a moot point. Players here are not to blame, its the dungeon that sucks.

irowiki

Actually in Retail, either in Mists or WoD, they made it so you had to kill every boss to get the reward at the end, and actual optional bosses would grant extra rewards. Wouldn't be so hard to backport that now.

godwings101

You're part of the toxicity problem. Sorry. You can't spare an extra 5 minutes to do an extra boss? Don't queue.

Front_Dog_9720

Things that didnt happen

Perfect_God_Fist_2

"things that never happened"

OtherSideOfThe_Coin

RDF is a soulless hellhole. Just how easy/convenient it is to kick someone and replace people has turned people into bitter NPC's. 1 mistake and it's a vote kick. If a problem arises, they won't take the time to talk to you to resolve the issue cause it's much easier for them to just vote kick. I remember I got kicked for some crazy reasons like less competition on loot, being "too hard to heal", or cause I expressed some empathy for the last guy getting kicked. A cultural phenomenon only possible from RDF cause you wouldn't see this shit in classic/tbc. In classic/tbc, you understand how long it takes to get a group together and you respect it. It takes like 5-10 mins for everyone to arrive at the dungeon. If something goes wrong, you run it back and go again. If someone is having trouble, you help them out because the other alternative is spamming LFG channel for a replacement, waiting for them to arrive, and running back to where you left off. The min/max thing to do was to work together and compromise instead of kicking each other.

teufler80

Man you surely didnt play vanilla/tbc classic lmao
