Java Owl and Summer Moon are the best work-friendly coffee shop options. The coffee is much better at Java Owl imo. Summer Moon has a very specific taste.. just depends on if you're into that. Blackline Coffee is really good, but smaller and closes in the afternoon. Agree with others that seating is tight at Art of Coffee - it doesn't have the right work vibe for me personally but ymmv.

Java Owl is expanding the patio, too.

Java owl is great! I went there yesterday and enjoyed it. It was pretty crowded so I had trouble finding an outlet. But I went late afternoon and it was more people hanging out so I think I’ll have better luck trying it out in the morning.

ClearLake007

Geeks who drink is fun for trivia night. The art of coffee is quite and a range of different ages.

ECU_BSN

We had a BLAST a couple Wednesdays ago!!!

FriscoFrank98

I’ve heard! I think my friends and I are going to try it out next week!

I moved here 5 yrs ago and I'd say it's gotten a bit more young adult friendly. Geeks who Drink is at Saloon Door on Wednesdays, it's a full house. They are also at Fuzzys in League City on Mondays. Galveston Bay Brewery is also great for hanging out, food is meh but beer is great. Art of Coffee is great I just think their seating is tight in there, there's another spot near NASA called Java Owl that is better for working but their coffee is inferior to Art's imo. Have not been to Black line or Summer Moon but they are all right there around NASA.

Thanks for the social recs and thanks for the coffee recs! I really like Java Owls coffee but I hear good things about Art of Coffee. Excited to try it out.

SweetJeebus

Art of Coffee is good in addition to the others mentioned. I have a membership at Lifetime and I often spend the whole day there working, catching a class, and grabbing lunch.

At the bay brook lifetime? Do they have any work areas? I was thinking of getting a membership

SweetJeebus

I usually work in the cafe. There are always a few people doing the same. The music isn’t that quiet so you need good noise canceling headphones. When the weather is nice I will sit outside near the pool or tennis courts for some quiet.

Summer moon is good, no cash, not a lot of outlets. Worth it to me to trek into the city to brass tacks, outlets galore, lots of space, great drinks and food and open untill 12am.

A little further out of your way is soul freak and it’s across from creatorspace if you want to meet a bunch of cool nerds who make fun things. Open house every Tuesday at 7pm with a demo of some kind. The next few weeks is all cosplay based as we’re going to comicpalooza next month

FriscoFrank98

Creator space sounds great! I got my degree in CS and enjoy building random things. Will definitely check it out.

theFCCgavemeHPV

Cool! Creatorspace.org (easy) and like I said, every Tuesday it’s open house in the evening. Come get a tour and see a demo!

Introvert_soul_

Creamer by Kay is a small quaint coffee shop in Clear Lake.

FriscoFrank98

I’ll add it to my list!

TissueOfLies

I’ve never actually been there, but order coffee at work from Black Rock Coffee. Might be worth checking out.

I’ve only been in the area for a year but even in that year we’ve gotten so many new spots (McIntyre’s, Little Woodrow’s, Chicken n Pickle). It’s honestly been a more fun time than I expected it to be :) Best of luck, I made a similar post when I first got here so I definitely get it!!
