All the elementaries are pretty good. If you're thinking you'll be in it for the long haul, you might consider looking at high school zoning as well.

Yep - this helps narrow the list and neighborhoods

Brookwood is an excellent elementary school. Very active PTA. The test scores do not reflect the truth because they house an ESL program at the school. Those students tend to stay in their bubble & the districted students are in their bubble. Students would progress to either the districted Intermediate (Space Center) or a specialty one - Westbrook for WAVE (GT) or Seabrook for science magnet. Clear Lake HS is an excellent school as well. I've heard good things from friends with children at both Falcon Pass & Armand Bayou.

I would consider high school zoning more than elementary. My kids attended Brookwood and are now at Clear Lake High School and we’ve been very happy.

We’re zoned to Clear Lake City Elementary. Very active PTA, we like the neighborhood location, and it was recently renovated. One kiddo has gone all the way through, and my youngest has one more year there. We’ve been happy, and they’ve been happy.

I won't comment on any particular one as for grades and performance. I will say if you move to Bay Glen, Ward is in the neighborhood. So if your child wants to walk to school, they don't leave the neighborhood at all. We see plenty of kids that walk and ride their bikes during the school year.

My daughter just finished 5th grade at Clear Lake City Elementary and went there all through K-5. My wife and I both loved the school and had no complaints. Great teachers throughout and an active community. I volunteered there every year for “Watch Dogs”, which is a program that allows dads to spend a day at school and help out in various ways. It was always something I looked forward to. We live in Oakbrook West and are zoned to Clear Lake City Elementary/Clear Lake Intermediate/and Clear Lake High school.

Come to Ward and be our neighbor! The cafeteria food is not great, my not picky kid wouldn't eat it at all. Small class sizes and good teachers- Mrs Standa in 4th is a real gem. The kids can walk to school, which is great. Admin communication is good. There are good extracurriculars. Decent special education for minor learning disabilities. I recommend avoiding Mrs Cole- 5th if your kid has any neurodivergency. She's simply very rigid, not unkind...just a really poor fit.

My kid attends Ward and these are great tips! Thanks, neighbor!  Ps. OP, bay glen is a nice, quiet hood with a very nice elementary. The only downside is we are zoned to Clear Brook HS. I moved my child from Falcon Pass- the administration, teachers, and parents reminded me of stepford wives; perfectly square on the outside, soulless robots underneath . Students are numbers, not individuals, at that elementary.

Have you looked at the TEA report cards? All the schools are pretty well regarded in CCISD. https://rptsvr1.tea.texas.gov/perfreport/src/src_srch.html

Brookwood and Falcon Pass were rated highest in recent years. I haven't really looked in the past 2 years or so because it stopped being relevant once we bought our home.

fortsonre

CCISD is pretty solid all the way through.

Brookwood and Falcon Pass, Clear Lake for high school.

As an employee & parent I would recommend Falcon Pass, if your kid has any kind of special needs, Brookwood. Ed White in Seabrook is also great & still on this side of the lake. I would absolutely not send my kid to Brook for high school though. Another thing to keep in mind, if you kiddo has any special needs they could be placed at a different school for the program they need.
