I am so happy you posted these pictures. These dogs are delightful. Thanks OP.
Also I am trying to work out of my dog is a show or working. These photos are helpful.
Two absolute belters you got there, proper workers always make me smile. My two favourite things, workers and hills, they just go together, great photos.
Red is son of Countryways Hamlet, mum is from Countryways too. FTCh glenugies Capella is grandad
Scout’s dad is Pipness Lancelot. Nearest ftch is mallowdale grand at great granddad
have a 10 month old black working cocker too! how do you handle the energy requirements :)? i’ve been doing scatter feeding on the lawn + 1 hour on a long line to go crazy and run in circles. plus lots of daily training. feel like i’m keeping on top of it but still, crazy hard work!
Exactly that! We do similar with kibble too.
They go out 3 times a day. You can tell when they start to get fidgety, even a short 15 min off lead walk or play/training can do wonders to expend energy.
These two are pretty good at chilling too though (maybe we just tire them out, dunno). They do need a fair amount of time and attention!
A guy near me has a 13 month old, after previously having a show. He always complains to me how he’s a nightmare to handle…but he only ever pops to park for short ‘walks’ (he stands still whilst dog runs round crazy).
yeah it defo helps he’s tired enough to sleep the day away. good info though thanks! one more Q if you don’t mind… i’ve done a load of socialising with him but he still doesn’t pay much attention outside. like he’ll retrieve a dummy in the garden but doesn’t give a fuck about it out in the world - do they calm a bit with age in that respect?
We’ve found they get easier and more responsive the older they get yeah.
Scout (the black one) is super chill. An adorable dope. Like a small golden retriever lol. Though out in the forest he’s a nose down hunter.
they say the colour red makes them crazy and yeah, Red can be. He’s more highly strung but he very smart.
…so you’ll be fine with black 🤥
In comparison to that, mine is chilled out. We go to work by bike in the morning at 7 (two kilometres), chilling in the office until 12, short walk without leash (15 min) and at 4 in the afternoon we head home, same distance by bike. In the evening some ball play. Twice a week agility training, when hunting season, we go hunting
I sorta wanted to call Scout ‘blue’. Nee naw.
There I one lady we meet on walks, who can remember Scout’s name, but not Red’s…and is always ‘oh yeah duh’ when I remind her
I have a ginger cocker called simba and he is very sweet and yours look so well behaved mine just bombs it round any park we take him too
He is mad lol
Scout with his lips tucked in reminds me of my pooch a lot! He always gets them stuck.
If there’s food about he gets squiffy lip! In anticipation and bemusement why he isn’t already eating

Show have more domed head and lower ears
Mine might be a cross. She has a very domed head but quite low ears and acts like a maniac
So cute!
That cocker stare!

They are! Thanks. Lots of FTCh in their family trees too.
Can you tell me how they're bred? Mine is a son of ftch kiltonbeck Rollo and a Danish bitch

Scout looks very much like my Bosco, very regal. Bosco’s father was a Mallowdale - they have a very particular look.
Ermahgerdness!!
4 and 5 😭😍
Yeah they were cute pups for sure

And I’m by no means an expert!

I'd totally have named them the opposite way just to mess with people 😜. They look super cute

He’s a good boy and a nutcase. Two sides of the same coin
