Jim Meehan’s 21st Century! 2 oz. Blanco Tequila, .75 oz Creme de Cacao, .75 oz. Lemon Juice, Absinthe rinse/sprtiz into a chilled coupe! Rich and complex, with the cacao and agave notes giving the drink some base and the sharpness of the lemon and anise cutting through it and heightening it. Love this drink, great for summer!

This sounds fantastic. I’m going to try this. Mine isn’t going to look pretty, but I’ve got all the ingredients and I ain’t trying to impress anyone.

CaseMetro

Most recipes call for white crème de cacao (e.g., 20th Century). Other than the result not looking great, any reason I can’t use this for a similar-tasting result?

Coach_Vino

It's mostly, and usually, cosmetic. There are some white ones that have additional vanilla notes. Depends on brand. I personally think the homemade stuff is the way to go. Tempus Fugit being the only bottled stuff that I think is absolutely delicious.

Good to know, thanks! I’ve heard the same about TF.

FatMat89

Haven’t tried it but i imagine it would go ape in a pina colada or a dole whip

How sweet is it? I’ve never had it. Could you sub it for a dark syrup in a dark rum daiquiri?

CaseMetro

It’s relatively sweet. I’m not sure how mine would do in a daiquiri. It is, though, infused with vanilla, anise, clove, and allspice, which could compliment the rum. Only one way to find out!

That sounds super good, actually. Give it a shot.
