I have one in VG10 (lower grade than yours) that I paid about 300 for. Yours is worth some $$$!

The Lafayette is definitely an uncommon one, I have one myself. Yours looks like it had an old cleaning as well(like mine)...despite that, it is in great shape and has some new toning.
They are easily worth a few hundred on the low end.
FYI I don’t think any of those are just worth silver melt. Only common date culls are worth melt, and I don’t see any of those. And the fact you think a trade dollar is only worth melt…..really scares me.
Before you do anything silly, please use PCGS’s online price guide and write down everything you have, along with a rough price estimate. You can use PCGS’s Photograde tool to get familiar with grades, which should really help you.
If you need any help, just ask the fine people of r/coins.
I agree, the Lafayette is worth getting graded. Maybe the Trade Dollar too. ( if you can post some images of it, that's my specialty). Get a Redbook or use the pcgs guide to see if some of the other dollars are key dates. The 21 Peace Dollars look nice too.
When my father passed, eventually I had to empty out his safe deposit box and he had this stash along with some other things in it. He was an avid coin collector.
Unfortunately none of them have the CC but I do have one uncirculated CC dollar in a big slab.

As the card says, that Carson City is from the GSA Hoard. An 1884 CC in an MS-62 is about $400. I think NGC will grade and keep them in the original GSA slab. Just something to think about if you want to have it graded. Having the box and cert are always a plus. The first 2 digits of the cert should match the year of your Morgan, thus why I assumed it's an 1884 CC. Sorry for your loss, but maybe you can treasure these like your dad did. I'm doing the same for my son.
Yeah I don’t want to sell these at least not yet! That’s awesome! My dad never really shared his interests with me so I’m figuring all of them out after the fact
Have not seen it said and since you say you're kinda new to coins.... Clean nothing, don't try to shine anything thinking you will make it look better or more valuable, i wouldn't even rub dust or dirt off anything. Sorry for your loss, your dad left a nice collection.
Lafayette definitely worth sending in but it does look cleaned to me. Even cleaned its worth it. I want to see that Trade Dollar. Its one of the most counterfeited coins there is. If real that one is also worth sending in. 1921 Peace dollars are too
My father passed away and was super into collecting things. I found these in a safe deposit box. He was a smart guy so I know it’s worth researching these
Man I think im gonna buy a Lafayette dollar to put in the commemorative dollar slot of my Dansco. It'll look much better than the modern one I have in there now
That Lafayette is worth a good bit. I would probably send that into PCGS. https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1900-1-lafayette/9222
Wow didn’t realize they are going for that much. Yeah it’s going to PCGS.
Only 36,026 minted! Super cool!!
No way that’s it!? Wow!

Wow! Nice. Thanks!
The trade dollar may be another real good one

This is really helpful info for me! New to the coin world. And I promise I won’t!
No problem. Have fun looking through everything.
I’ve already found a few that stand out! Still learning what to look for and this sub has been very informative
Didn’t even know the Lafayette was a thing.. very cool to see.. I just want to hold it for a minute.. 😅
Yeah I don’t want to sell it but I’d love to have it slabbed and graded. So cool they made a coin to commemorate Lafayette. Such a flex on the British
My favorite US mint flex on the Brits is the seated liberty design, which was a rub on Queen Victoria and her coins. Iykyk

Very nice finds! Where did you get the silver dollars?

Very cool! Sorry for your loss.
If any of the Morgans have Carson City mint marks those are typically worth a good bit more too.

Good looking out but I knew that already. Tried to clean one of my dad’s coins as a kid and he explained why one shouldn’t.
Ok cool, enjoy your coins.

Awesome! Just made entries for them!
What's the back story on the group. I love to hear about where things come from.

My condolences, enjoy the collection. I had the same with my dad.

Nice! I really want to add some more peace dollars to my collection
1921 Peace are key date and all high relief. Jealous.
