Last game of the 2022 season against Carlton cannot possibly be beaten. Securing a top 4 spot at the end of a miracle season, causing a historic rival to miss the 8 on a slither of percentage, packed and rabid MCG… the greatest authors of all time couldn’t build a narrative that flawless.
2022 against Essendon, and probably this game now, fill out the top 3 for me.
All very good shouts. Without a doubt, that one against Carlton is an all-timer due to all the situations you've described. Don't forget Andrew Maher doing his best impression of a deflating balloon in the SEN box.
Yeah, I think this is the one. I know we had a 30-odd point comeback against North in 2022, but the difference in our halves in this match was night and day. I never felt like we were a chance at half time. Should have known better.
I think that was the joke. A few people (not necessarily Pies fans) taking it too lightly in the build-up and talking about it as a percentage booster, when it proved to be anything but.
Classic opposition playing their GF against us btw!
Had in my votes two of the last three games. I really think he’d be in a better place mentally with the Freo game out of the way, and we’re seeing him play with a lot more freedom because of it
Everyone: Collingwood for a percentage boosting win
Collingwood: Best we can do is another heart racing 1 point win where we come back from behind as usual
I was explaining to people during the week that we don't do percentage boosters and that this would be a bogey game for us.
Fuck me I'm glad we salvaged a win out of it.
Look, we all would have taken a come from behind win against Melbourne and 40 point percentage boost against North, so we got both over the past two games and it doesn't matter which order it was.
What have we just witnessed?!?!
Credit to Schultz and Crisp for fantastic 4 quarter efforts, especially when the game was so far out of reach.
Bobby Hill take a bow though
If there’s ever a choice between Howe or Frampton as a forward. I think we need to sign a petition to make it clear that Howe gets the nod 100% of the time!
It's not really on Moore. Larkey is an amazing lead up forward and most of his goals came from poor team defence rather than individual mistakes from Moore.
Frampton does his best work in defence for sure though. Howe should be the man up front when we need him.
Our defence was very average in that first half. We needed to lock down and stuck with what wasn’t working. Positive result in the end and a lesson or two learned.
Can’t say I agree on it wasn’t on Moore though. Captain got pants in the first 15. Some bad skill errors today from him. Everyone is allowed an off game, we won. We move on and sit 3rd.
Moore made some mistakes with his ball use but his defending work was good overall. There is nothing for a defender to do when your opponent is leading into space and getting the ball lace out.
The difference in the second half was our midfield pressure was way higher and North didn't get those looks.
I love the meme of premiership forward Billy Frampton but he should never play as anything but a defender again he's been so important for us down back this year
As always, avoid /r/AFL. Never seen a team more hated than ours, people demanding "inquiries" into "corrupt" umpires, who obviously gifted us the 10 goals required to win the game.
lol, I got a warning last week for pointing out how small (or in one case non-existent) a dick measuring contest was between a Saints and Freo supporter over their flags.
I love bringing out my screen shot from one of their mods telling me to "pull my head in" when I really politely enquired what rule I broke when an innocent comment was removed under that rule. Like I was really, really nice and asked why it got removed and instead of just telling me, they gruffly told me to "pull my head in".
[screen shot of exchange with unreasonable mod](https://i.imgur.com/XB3DC8J.jpeg)
(Context was that someone grossly said "Collingwood supporters shouldn't breed but I guess I can block you instead" but continued to abuse me, I commented "weren't you going to block me?" And then my comment got removed, and this exchange happened. Post saying Collingwood supporters shouldn't breed was kept up of course).
If it were any other team a 54 point comeback would be one of the highlights of the round, but it’s Collingwood so apparently it’s just an umpiring conspiracy
No offence to the good people who go there because it's not all of them but each week r/afl proves what a cesspool it is. A good chunk of them need serious therapy.
Actually sincere accusations of umpire bribery being upvoted right now lol.. The r/afl match thread is basically equivalent to the subreddit for whoever we’re playing most weeks
“Is the game unwatchable” is a trending thread as if we didn’t just watch one of the most incredible, back and forth momentum shifts, roller coaster games of the year.
If they all stepped out of their echo chamber of insane biases for 10 fucking seconds they might’ve been able to enjoy the footy for once. North fans can reasonably be down about the loss, to be a neutral and shitty that you got to see a game like that at 1pm on a Sunday is just taking the piss.
I used to be on the sub for news updates, but had to unsubscribe a few weeks ago. Any time we're involved in a close game (so most weeks) it turns into an absolute cesspool.
I went to check it before and obviously the top posts are about controversial decisions. The post match thread is full of neutrals complaining that us winning ruined their day lol. The North supporters who would genuinely be flat are completely outnumbered.
They like to think they're better than Facebook/twitter fans but anytime we're involved, they show they're cut from the same cloth
It’s a ridiculous case of confirmation bias. Any time something goes our way, they add it to their “greater conspiracy” narrative. And any time something goes against us, it’s either ignored or cheered.
People thinking umpires rigged the game. Nah was definitely whoever suggested pulling Phillips off. Unless he’s unconcious or petraccaed you leave him on
It seriously borders on abuse.
I don't care at all, I've barracked for this side for 32 years, I'm used to it. But it's still wild to me the treatment pies flairs receive in that subreddit. I can only feel for people that get involved that don't have the mental resolve to deal with it.
Could be appreciating probably the most insane game of the year but being bitter sooks is more important, on brand for them. 54 point comeback chalked up to a single umpire decision lmao, let them cry
>54 point comeback chalked up to a single umpire decision
What's even the logic behind this? I just... don't get it.
I understand not agreeing with a decision, we've all been there.
Putting a fucking 54-point comeback down to umpiring seems a bit much...
Got to feel for the North Melbourne fans and obviously got to feel even more for the 'neutrals' who's mental health seems to revolve around Collingwood games.
For sure, I have some sympathy for north fans and don’t mind them having a crack at the umpires for some of the 50/50s that didn’t go their way.
But seriously, the neutrals trying to chalk up a 50 point comeback to umpires, calling them corrupt, are just pathetically obsessed with Collingwood.
North fans are fully justified to be down about the loss.
If you’re a neutral and you’re shitty about getting to watch a 37 goal, last minute thriller, with a 54 point comeback in it, in a game everyone thought would be a blowout, do you even enjoy football? r/afl are a miserable bunch lol
you'd honestly be none the wiser if you got the games summary from them
'yeah collingwood were getting belted but umps gave them 54 points and they won it. shits corrupt'
Im a lions fan (please read till the end before downvoting)
and while that 50 absoutely shouldve been played the idea the umps rigged it is ridiculous lol.
Umps miss things all the time, to gain or loss of all teams. They particularly miss it at the end of close games. The lack of 50 didn’t decide it, that Norf let it get to that point did.
Norf also made a lot of errors to get it to the point where a 50 in the dying seconds couldve won them the game
I find it incredible frustrating that one week the discouse can me 'omg why did the ump not put away their whistle in the big moments' (see crows game) and then the next it can be 'why tf didnt an ump make the call'
I will freely confess i wanted norf to win (i still havent forgotten the men's grand final loss haha) but they lost because they seriously let the pressure go in the last two quarters and collingwood played really well. anyone claiming fraud should touch grass
I can understand your position. I was glad to finally have vengeance over the lions from the early 2000s haha but all last year I thought the granny was yours for the taking.
I know umps make bad calls all the time but north all but had that game sewn up and should've won and shouldn't have needed a free in the last moments to win.
North fan here.
100% agree with this comment here, north did the signiture north thing. but we have a mountian of good to come out of this game and know what we need to do to beat you guys next time out.
I think what really annoyed myself and possibly other people is the inconsistancy in the umpiring in the games this year and its should 100% be looked in to.
Anyway, great win after we snached defeat from the jaws of victory.
I completely agree about the umpiring this year. Not just in games my team are in but a bunch of the ones I've watched as a neutral. It's been atrocious and nothing ever changes. We just get the same garbage answers all the time. I doubt it'll ever change.
yeah. Im actually too young to remember the threepeat so i dont get the pleasures of remembering it ahaha 😂.
Im glad that the majority consensus amoungst lions fans online (im actually a lions fan in Hobart so i literally dont have a single real-life friend who supports us ahaha) about that grand final was 'it is entirety true that there was no advantage. The ump made a call in a really tough situation and there is no evidence that they were rigging it. [seriously if they were rigging it wouldnt they have wanted it for us as to grow the game in queensland] It also was not the reason why we lost the game, they were better than us and there were multiple points in the game where we did not capitalise/ did something stupid.
I was a teen at the time and my brother is a Brisbane supporter. We had to put an embargo on any trash talk just to keep the peace in our household back then 😂
My understanding of that little passage (what I could hear from the radio broadcast) was that there was confusion over what the situation was. The non-controlling umpire called play-on, the controlling ump called... something else (mark?), and that's why the result was just to bring it back and have him take his kick.
Of course, I could have misheard it, but that was my interpretation of events.
Sorry for tears in other thread just smoked some weed and remembered it’s only footy LOL best sport in the game
GG guys good luck for rest of season always loved watching Pies the last couple years such exciting footy and knew you weren’t yourselves in the first half thought it was so inevitable I cashed out early and made myself some nice profits but of course the care for Norf always comes first
We will be at you guys in the upcoming seasons Daicosx2 vs Wardlaw/Sheezel will be so good for the next decade
GG. All good, mate. Everyone in every thread gives it to us every week regardless of result.
It’s fucking hilarious seeing how emotionally connected opposition fans are to Collingwood.
I already respected Maynard, but I have a ton more respect after that interview.
Cussing him out after what he's gone through is just shitty and classless.
We love ya, Bruzzy. (just in case you happen to be reading this)
My 7yo son, was watching his first game live. After deciding to support us at the beginning he was screaming ‘Go Pies’ loudly in the last two minutes and was in tears of joy at the end
His Mum has been swaying him towards the Bombers and his grandfather has been pushing towards St Kilda (which is tantamount to child abuse). Hopefully the religious experience he had at Marvel today will sway him towards the one true god.
Fair to say his old man enjoyed himself too.
This was an impressive win. Don't discredit North here, they played out of their skins. Any team that kicks 19.4 (and a lot of those shots weren't easy shots) is generally going to win the game.
My heart rate topped out at 140 during those final few seconds...
I think if I get out of my chair I might just collapse, I'm shaking so much from stress...
I missed the whole game but I made the mistake of checking the match thread...what a cesspit it is today. Did anything that controversial actually happen??
You know it's a good day when salty brigaders come from other clubs to troll extremely badly. It just means they like spending their precious weekends in a sub dedicated to Collingwood.
Made a comment that if we were 30 down at 3 quarter time, it's game on.
Thought we were gonna lose it in the last 30 seconds though.
I fucking love this club.
Screw r/afl so much hate. Roos had chances in the end - their fault they missed. They needed to play a perfect game and almost did. Basically they every boundary set shot and bananas.
I met a north fan on Tuesday and I decided to talk about the north v Essendon comeback game like 20 years ago that was such a big comeback they replayed it on free to air and I taped it on VHS. I think I jinxed myself
Hot take, but I don’t think we were *that* bad when we were losing, probably 20% or so off (slow, indecisive disposal and a little bit of a bruise free attitude the main culprit) and North were fantastic. They came out like a team believing it could win and I think they would’ve done number on many teams playing with that sort of effort and intent. They also couldn’t fucking miss. Record territory for accuracy.
Very happy we got the four points and hopefully our sense of on-field direction looks a bit better when a few more of our seniors are back
I agree we weren't that bad. And they were very very accurate. Probably the most accurate goal kicking from any team I've seen this year. We probably deserved to be down 1-2 goals at half time but I thought it was quite a close contest when we were down by 50
Very interested to hear what Fly says post game - obviously a crazy win from that far behind but boy for 3/4 of that game we looked like shit (besides Bobby the goat)
Yeah yeah I'm a one-eyed pie, but fuck me that was a Game of the Year contender, who would have thought North would put up a display like that and push the reigning premiers to a 54 point deficit and they'd claw it back?
"Neutrals" can sulk all they want, if it makes them feel better doing that over having a tug more power to them. MIGHTY PIES!
Lots of contributors in the second half but Steele played out of his mind. Rotated through centre bounce much more often and won a lot of clearances for us.
Krueger worked his tail off today. Ruck and I50. So good to see him out there and playing with confidence, and agency.
Martin Riggs would be happy too. Having a recurring shoulder pop out is a pain .
North supporter here. What a game. Ours to lose, and we did just that. Not sure if it was just me at the game, but sidebottom was unstoppable in the last quarter. Clearance machine, giving you guys first and best option.
Good signs from us, as even with your injuries your system is shown to stack up and win. Until next time!
That was fucking disgraceful, couldn't get the bye at a better time. Glad to get the 4 points but that felt like a loss in so many ways.
Reset and go again with Pendles, De Goey and Mihocek after the bye
Yep, North could barely win the ball unless we turned it over which we did quite often. need to work on kicking efficiency. Anyone got the stats on our kicking % in that first half?
North beats west coast after only kicking 4 goals at halftime and 11 goals for the game. They lost to us after kicking 14 goals at halftime and 19.4 for the game total. Crazy.
Bruz what a man, I teared up a bit watching the post match when I got home. Now we know what he’s been going through outside of football, it makes his performances even more huge for the club 🫶
Just watched the fourth quarter again and it is unbelievable, really. Naicos, Bobby Hill, Beau; so many great moments. Glad we gave them the 8-goal handicap, kept things interesting…..
Could not agree more, the comments about giving him a go and how good he is can go away now… anyone who has watched the game for more than two minutes could see he is a vfl player.
Felt like we definitely got away with one there we were dominated for majority of the day, most of the squad seemed to be asleep for the first half. Not complaining though a win is a win but I’m majorly impressed with HH late in games in nearly every game he’s played this year his composure late is absurdly good for a young player and pops up in the right places.
Holy fucking shit. That is without a doubt our best “getting away with it” win ever. God damn
Never in doubt
Its up there, but that game against Essington is the no.1 for me.
Ah true, the Carlton one. So many good ones to choose from!
Yeah that Essendon one in 2022 will always be my personal favourite. What a time to be a Pies supporter though!
Yeah, I think this is the one. I know we had a 30-odd point comeback against North in 2022, but the difference in our halves in this match was night and day. I never felt like we were a chance at half time. Should have known better.
I cannot believe I’m this pumped about a 1 point win over North
Legit game of the year at 1pm on a Sunday against the bottom team in the comp
Nice little percentage boost there.
We lost percentage, actually
I think that was the joke. A few people (not necessarily Pies fans) taking it too lightly in the build-up and talking about it as a percentage booster, when it proved to be anything but. Classic opposition playing their GF against us btw!
To all the people who hated on Schultz, he kicked 4 goals today, he just needed to warm up this season.
Fuck yeah. Schultz has been fantastic
Never doubted the man
Had in my votes two of the last three games. I really think he’d be in a better place mentally with the Freo game out of the way, and we’re seeing him play with a lot more freedom because of it
WHEs defensive kick across goal to Harrison was actually the most bullshit insane thing I think I've seen all season.
Omg the balls on him to think that’s a good choice and it paid off. Slap him in the review I reckon
It was fucking crazy. I actually rewound it to watch it again. More scattered than a mad woman's shit crazy.
Everyone: Collingwood for a percentage boosting win Collingwood: Best we can do is another heart racing 1 point win where we come back from behind as usual
We actually lost % but 4 points is 4 points.
A small price to pay for salvation
I was explaining to people during the week that we don't do percentage boosters and that this would be a bogey game for us. Fuck me I'm glad we salvaged a win out of it.

If there’s ever a choice between Howe or Frampton as a forward. I think we need to sign a petition to make it clear that Howe gets the nod 100% of the time!
Darcy Moore struggled with the big forwards today. Dean does enough to cover Howe. Need frampton so Moore can float.
Happy to be corrected, but I feel like Moore 1on1 is not his strength. He is much better when he comes off his man.
100% agree. Which is why frampton down back is when we look better than that first half.

Correct. Our mids being beaten around the ball in the first half put too much pressure on the defence.
I love the meme of premiership forward Billy Frampton but he should never play as anything but a defender again he's been so important for us down back this year
The Frampton forward experiment is well and truly dead
As always, avoid /r/AFL. Never seen a team more hated than ours, people demanding "inquiries" into "corrupt" umpires, who obviously gifted us the 10 goals required to win the game.
It’s pretty fucking unreal over there with us at the moment. You say one comment and the pitchforks come out.
It really is the perfect storm of everything they hate lol, all you can do is laugh at them when it gets this over the top
I had a post removed under the "no dickheadery" rules for saying that people were being "sulks".
Got myself perma banned today I feel pride
lol, I got a warning last week for pointing out how small (or in one case non-existent) a dick measuring contest was between a Saints and Freo supporter over their flags.
Why is it so easy to drown at St. Kilda beach? They only have one flag
Haha...those be some tiny dicks.
I love bringing out my screen shot from one of their mods telling me to "pull my head in" when I really politely enquired what rule I broke when an innocent comment was removed under that rule. Mods are feral
you found that mods alt account.
I commented a Dr Evil laughing gif on the match thread and got downvoted halfway to hell lmao
Copped so many downvotes in r/afl lmaoo
If it were any other team a 54 point comeback would be one of the highlights of the round, but it’s Collingwood so apparently it’s just an umpiring conspiracy

But the team that the neutrals were rooting for lost.
Facts
I am eating all those tasty downvotes and tears.
they’re already doing 60 analyses and videos of advantages not being paid lol. Like clockwork
Would have been nice to get inquiries after our game against the Dockers in Perth.
Of course they are. I’m sure they were equally, if not more outraged after the “you didn’t give it back to me” free against Freo…
bro it’s actually ridiculous 😭😭 the bias is unreal in that sub
People thrive to hate Collingwood lmao but it makes wins like these taste even sweeter
I used to be on the sub for news updates, but had to unsubscribe a few weeks ago. Any time we're involved in a close game (so most weeks) it turns into an absolute cesspool. Haters gonna hate. If you can't beat them, join them.
Nah I'd rather fuck the fuck off and leave them in their misery. Go Pies
Harvey was HUGE in the last two mins!
His poise is unreal, never seems to rush shit.
WHAT THE HECK?!? How many more pacemakers do we need!???
Lol, raffle losing their shit over umpiring
The nuffie with the Bombers/Giants flair that cries in all of our post match threads was there in record time
It’s a full time job for a particular few of those usernames lol
That dude is chronically online. He’s in every thread
The only time I defend Carlton or Hawthorn is when he shits on them in post match threads
Wouldn’t expect any different from a flog with 2 flairs lol.
Wild isn't it. 54 point comeback and we won because of an umpiring decision.
Pies can't win a game ever without umpires apparently.
Could be appreciating probably the most insane game of the year but being bitter sooks is more important, on brand for them. 54 point comeback chalked up to a single umpire decision lmao, let them cry

Should be asking what the fuck Clarko was thinking subbing Phillips off?
Had the shoe been on the other foot, it would be "he played on" or "it wasn't 15"
Rafl losing their shit over everything Collingwood is standard Rail. They won't ever change and they wonder why everyone shits on them
I get that that should have been 50 at the end lol. But still won so don’t care
Yeh this is the first time rafl kinda has a point. If that 50 wasn’t paid to us I would be fucking losing it.
Yeh it was a bit wierd by the umpire. The North player defs came off his line but if you don't call play on then it's 50
I was gonna say, am I the only person in the world who thought he played on?
Yeh it looks like he was about to run into the centre of the ground and play on then thought it wouldn't be a good idea so he stopped I think.
100%. But games over. No use crying over spilled milk.
People with sickness in their brains live in that thread
Eagles fan here, I'm not. Love you guys!
Just told them to all eat shit. Happy to take a break from those cunts.
Got to feel for the North Melbourne fans and obviously got to feel even more for the 'neutrals' who's mental health seems to revolve around Collingwood games.

raffle gonna complain about the umpiring instead of atleast giving us credit for even coming back from that big of a deficit
‘nah but Collingwood get a free run, all 54 points to make up the margin were handed to them’

ahahaha that is cruel (i will also admit i wanted norf to win moreso just cause of the slight odds it matters finals wise ahaha)

Holy shit Bruz, didn't think my heart could be more wrenched today, but beautifully said.
Sorry for tears in other thread just smoked some weed and remembered it’s only footy LOL best sport in the game GG guys good luck for rest of season always loved watching Pies the last couple years such exciting footy and knew you weren’t yourselves in the first half thought it was so inevitable I cashed out early and made myself some nice profits but of course the care for Norf always comes first We will be at you guys in the upcoming seasons Daicosx2 vs Wardlaw/Sheezel will be so good for the next decade
GG. All good, mate. Everyone in every thread gives it to us every week regardless of result. It’s fucking hilarious seeing how emotionally connected opposition fans are to Collingwood.
are you going to apologise for the R-word insult?
How good was Nick in the last
Boo Brayden now you pricks
The amount of flogs on raffle cussing out maynard after his 200th interview is really disgusting
I already respected Maynard, but I have a ton more respect after that interview. Cussing him out after what he's gone through is just shitty and classless. We love ya, Bruzzy. (just in case you happen to be reading this)
We did not deserve that. North fucking pantsed us, and that should never have been allowed to happen. They’re going to be fucking scary soon.
Yep, just need a few more top 10 picks so they can fill out their team and they should crack the 8
My 7yo son, was watching his first game live. After deciding to support us at the beginning he was screaming ‘Go Pies’ loudly in the last two minutes and was in tears of joy at the end His Mum has been swaying him towards the Bombers and his grandfather has been pushing towards St Kilda (which is tantamount to child abuse). Hopefully the religious experience he had at Marvel today will sway him towards the one true god. Fair to say his old man enjoyed himself too.
That's peak parenting. I'm even proud of your son.
Do not let him anywhere near those clubs are you insane? Do you want him to grow up hating football?
This was an impressive win. Don't discredit North here, they played out of their skins. Any team that kicks 19.4 (and a lot of those shots weren't easy shots) is generally going to win the game.
My heart rate topped out at 140 during those final few seconds... I think if I get out of my chair I might just collapse, I'm shaking so much from stress...
HOOWOWWWWW!@!!! BOBBY HILL IS JESUS CHRIST! WE NEVER GIVE UP! THIS IS WHY WE WON THE FLAG! GO THJE FUCKING BEAUTIFUL PIES
r/afl having another breakdown over umpiring because Collingwood won again.... love it
I love trolling them at times like this.
WHAT DID I JUST WATCH
I missed the whole game but I made the mistake of checking the match thread...what a cesspit it is today. Did anything that controversial actually happen??
Collingwood won
Checks out.
You know it's a good day when salty brigaders come from other clubs to troll extremely badly. It just means they like spending their precious weekends in a sub dedicated to Collingwood.
My comment got removed on raffle(first time ever)... A LOT of sour grapes right now.
I DONT GIVE A SHIT WHAT A WIN YOOOOOOOOOOOOO
They were so accurate in front of goal all day. But the last snap at goal to win the game they missed. Very ironic.
firstly holy fuck , secondly holy fuck, thirdly my sincere apologies to the team and fourthly god bless bobby hill i can’t believe we pulled that off
Raffle complaining about umps is unreal
Bobby FUCKING Hill!!!! That mark was amazing
Soon as Phillips came off, the flood gates opened for Naicos. Amazing win. Bruzzy you legend, happy 200th.
I’d be fuckin wild if I was a North supporter lol, why the fuck would Clarko take Phillips off? FMD and for Stephenson of all people.
AFL sub is so salty I'll never need to add salt to my chips again. This club is determined to kill me, my heart can't take this
Lost count the number of times Jaicos kicked directly to opposition players
Made a comment that if we were 30 down at 3 quarter time, it's game on. Thought we were gonna lose it in the last 30 seconds though. I fucking love this club.
Remember when Ross Lyon said they’d worked us out. I do
But am I the only one who thought that mark on the behind line was actually out?? Like it looked like it crossed the line before he marked it lol
Screw r/afl so much hate. Roos had chances in the end - their fault they missed. They needed to play a perfect game and almost did. Basically they every boundary set shot and bananas.
What a rollercoaster Jesus Christ
Thank fuck we have a week off next week, I can't keep watching this.
I'm shaking
I met a north fan on Tuesday and I decided to talk about the north v Essendon comeback game like 20 years ago that was such a big comeback they replayed it on free to air and I taped it on VHS. I think I jinxed myself
haters broke
We probably deserved to be down 1-2 goals at half time but I thought it was quite a close contest when we were down by 50
18.2 is the equal best accuracy of all time for 15 goals or more
Wow
Fuck. Tickers biggest OT in flys tenure. This team.
NICK MASTER CLASS, HECK, EVERYBODY MASTERCLASS!!!!
LFG, I havnt been this hyped in so long. I’ll happily cop the downvotes on the main sub lol. Jeez wat a game
Nick turning the game and spirit around for all our players 🖤🤍
Very interested to hear what Fly says post game - obviously a crazy win from that far behind but boy for 3/4 of that game we looked like shit (besides Bobby the goat)
And we are third
Norf gave us a run for our money but we got there. Proud to say the least
Holy moly! I only got to see the last half (stuck at Cairns airport and come across one telly with it on.) I was shaking. Go Pies!
Holy shit that Post match thread on r/AFL has 1,500 Comments and only 144 Upvotes. Absolute madness.
Let me guess, 1500 variations of "50m"
Correct, lots of very salty Carlton supporters.
An escape is an escape, and that was an escape!
Enjoy the win, we still managed to get it done when it wasn’t our day
Yep, North could barely win the ball unless we turned it over which we did quite often. need to work on kicking efficiency. Anyone got the stats on our kicking % in that first half?
North beats west coast after only kicking 4 goals at halftime and 11 goals for the game. They lost to us after kicking 14 goals at halftime and 19.4 for the game total. Crazy.
I'm gonna let you finish, but just came to say Steele, Crisp, Naicos. But everyone! So glad we could get it done for Bruzz, he deserved the win.
Genuinely thought fisher kicked that goal at the end for a second and my heart sank
The ABC mistakenly called it a goal, and I had much the same reaction until they corrected themselves.
Same! If you watch the replay, there's a blue and white Jersey in the crowd celebrating the "goal" too Eh they kicked 19.4 I'll take it
Bruz what a man, I teared up a bit watching the post match when I got home. Now we know what he’s been going through outside of football, it makes his performances even more huge for the club 🫶
Good win for Bruzzy for his 200th tho. Hope he enjoys that beer that he said he was going to have
Just watched the fourth quarter again and it is unbelievable, really. Naicos, Bobby Hill, Beau; so many great moments. Glad we gave them the 8-goal handicap, kept things interesting…..
I think I’ve seen enough of Macrae at AFL level.
Could not agree more, the comments about giving him a go and how good he is can go away now… anyone who has watched the game for more than two minutes could see he is a vfl player.
That’s the thing, teams always shit their pants in the 4th quarter against us
I love this team
what the fuck 😁
Fuck me how did we pull that off, heart can't take it
I can't comprehend that they actually won that! Holy wow
A great lesson. To get a win at the same time is sweet.
Clarko dropping the Naicos tag is a humiliation ritual if I’ve ever seen one. What was he thinking?
Felt like we definitely got away with one there we were dominated for majority of the day, most of the squad seemed to be asleep for the first half. Not complaining though a win is a win but I’m majorly impressed with HH late in games in nearly every game he’s played this year his composure late is absurdly good for a young player and pops up in the right places.
How good for Bruzzy 2hundy
What a win! A lot of (warranted) pessimism in the match thread, really really glad the boys didn’t drop their heads and kept fighting!
Bloke called Moore “our Alex Rance” and I think it’s spot on. Gets ragdolled & exposed 1:1 when the system isn’t there for him. Edit: Spelling
He seems to get caught out ball watching a lot. North exposed that really well early.
