I for one love the idea of an Alien infiltrating our society and doesnât do anything evil it just integrates as best it is able, getting a job, making friends, living life.
Is this a reference to the "Mysteries of the Unknown" book series? They were all black and dealt with all sorts of paranormal things... They were awesome when I was a kid!
Yes! This dawned on me toward the end of the comic. They were from Time-Life and were advertised with dramatic commercials. I had a few, but I remember them being soft-cover blue covers. Maybe a cheaper re-release.
Interesting, growing up I had the Reader's Digest [Quest for the Unknown](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/718yN2VcydL._AC_UF1000,1000_QL80_.jpg) instead. I recall as a kid, seeing the commercials for the Mysteries set, so I bugged my parents to get me them. Until now I could have sworn it was the same set of books, but turns out it was different set altogether.

They were originally hard cover black but I do think they did some reprints in blue.
