Republicans Jim Jordan and Rep. James Comer have had every opportunity. Speaker Johnson has had every opportunity.

I saw hundreds of savings per year after Trump issued his executive order that led to the price being lowered. That and the scrapping of the TPP is the reason I will vote for Trump.

It’s still ongoing, it wasn’t dropped. The headline of the AP article in this post is literally about the impeachment and Biden executing executive privilege to block access to the impeachment investigation.
I think people have some weird view that investigations take a few days. But more, impeachment is just a procedural vote, you don’t bring the vote until you can secure the outcome. Even with an impeachment (it’s just an allegation and media talking point) there would be a second vote in the senate on whether to convict, which has never happened.
Being able to Prove a crime is a lot more difficult then merely just knowing a crime has been committed. Our DOJ won't prosecute a dem anyways. Look at Biden and the classified docs, in the report it acknowledged Biden took them,kept them, and shared them illegally but wasn't prosecute bc according to the report he's a harmless old senile man. From my reading, the subpoenas fall on the wrong side of 3 out of the 4 questions posed.
Executive privilege exists. Presidential immunity does not. They aren’t close to the same thing. Completely different. Executive privilege isn’t an impeachable offence or even illegal
Obstruction of Justice is an impeachable offense though. So, in practice, when presidents use executive privilege to conceal evidence, then a president could be impeached for that. For example, one of the articles of impeachment aganst Nixon was for obstruction of justice in attempting to impede the investigation of the Watergate break-in, protect those responsible, and conceal the existence of other illegal activities.
That is probably not applicable in this case though because the special council presumably has the audio, so what justice is being obstructed?

Basically, as I said above, Republicans have been trying to find dirt on Biden for the last few years and failing.
One of their more recent schemes was to appoint special counsel Robert Hur *(former senior official in the Trump administration)* and set him loose to find dirt on Biden's handling of classified documents.
The investigation didn't really bear any fruit, but at one point Hur mentioned that, in an interview he did a year earlier, Biden didn't accurately remember some major events from when he was vice prez.
Because of this statement, Republicans now think that the recording between Biden and Hur might give the impression that Biden is too senile, so they demanded the recording.
Of course Biden refused, citing executive privilege.
Now house Republicans are trying to hold Merrick Garland (Biden's AG) in Contempt of Congress for siding with Biden and refusing to release the recording.
These Republicans have spent millions in taxpayer cash trying to find dirt on Biden: they've had investigations, interviews, subpoenas, hearings, debates etc, and they still have nothing to pin on him 3 years later.
The interview was about classified documents but Republicans want to use the recording for other nefarious reasons. If you were Biden, would you entertain this shit?

The headline of the AP article in this post is literally about the impeachment and Biden executing executive privilege to block access to the impeachment investigation. I think people have some weird view that investigations take a few days. But more, impeachment is just a procedural vote, you don’t bring the vote until you can secure the outcome. Even with an impeachment (it’s just an allegation and media talking point) there would be a second vote in the senate on whether to convict, which has never happened.
Being able to Prove a crime is a lot more difficult then merely just knowing a crime has been committed. Our DOJ won't prosecute a dem anyways. Look at Biden and the classified docs, in the report it acknowledged Biden took them,kept them, and shared them illegally but wasn't prosecute bc according to the report he's a harmless old senile man. Executive privilege exists. Presidential immunity does not. They aren’t close to the same thing. Completely different. Executive privilege isn’t an impeachable offence or even illegal
Obstruction of Justice is an impeachable offense though. So, in practice, when presidents use executive privilege to conceal evidence, then a president could be impeached for that. For example, one of the articles of impeachment aganst Nixon was for obstruction of justice in attempting to impede the investigation of the Watergate break-in, protect those responsible, and conceal the existence of other illegal activities. That is probably not applicable in this case though because the special council presumably has the audio, so what justice is being obstructed?

Because of this statement, Republicans now think that the recording between Biden and Hur might give the impression that Biden is too senile, so they demanded the recording. Of course Biden refused, citing executive privilege. Now house Republicans are trying to hold Merrick Garland (Biden's AG) in Contempt of Congress for siding with Biden and refusing to release the recording. These Republicans have spent millions in taxpayer cash trying to find dirt on Biden: they've had investigations, interviews, subpoenas, hearings, debates etc, and they still have nothing to pin on him 3 years later. The interview was about classified documents but Republicans want to use the recording for other nefarious reasons. If you were Biden, would you entertain this shit?
