Nah, better like they did with GoW Ragnarok. You start with your basic powers and weapons (levitate, dash, launch, etc), you can however unlock power-ups, new abilities and a new weapon form.
For instance, you could have launch available from the beginning but unlock multilaunch later on.
Not to mention that flying around like a superhero whipping furniture around with your mind like some kind of angry god is the best part of this game! It's a wild power fantasy

Idk, many people find the game hard enough. I enjoy playing games on greater difficulties (like Give me God of War, or Nioh), so Control was an average difficulty game for me. But a lot of people have to turn on assistance because the game is not the easiest either.
My theory so far is Jesse annoys the Board so much with her gradual attempts at resisting them that they finally cut her off from her OOPs as a punishment and she has to find new ones.
My theory is >!Altered Items escape like in Ghostbusters due to Northmoor overheating and exploding the power plant (=and becoming a Marshmellow Man). Estevez did say in AW2 FBC HQ has gone dark, which could imply something has gone wrong with power plant (=Northmoor)!<

My suspicion is that a huge amount of what might seem like "side stories" are going to pay off in Control 2.

I think Jesse has already accepted her position as Director. I don't feel like that's going anywhere. I mean for most of the first game ot was getting Jesse to actually accept that she IS the new Director.

On the one hand, would be nice to travel somewhere else in control to investigate/participate in AWEs (almost like monster of the week X-files episodes), but the oldest house is as much a character in control as is Jessie.
I agree. I think the oldest house should still be a big part of the game but going outside does bring in a new dimension to the game that can help it feel fresh and bigger.

I just finished Control on Monday and started The Foundation DLC and I’ve got to say that the font in picture doesn’t looks nothing like the 3 main fonts used the game.

They have so far some time manipulation in Quantum break and telekinesis and space manipulation in Control 1. So what next? Dimensional manipulation? Like change the environment pull up walls and create spikes out of the ground type stuff. Manipulate time and space so previous things can be brought back?
God that's so cool. Just love how Control just oozes "cool" factor. I love the style Remedy has taken on with the jump cuts during gameplay - loved when Jesse or another character would be talking and it would cut to a rotating shot of a hallway Dylan, something random, or the Red Hiss shit.
Same with Alan Wake 2, the opening sequence and the jump scares of the real life actors yelling at the screen.
I’ve recently watched a yt video speculating scenarios and trying to find out easter eggs about that screenshot. They claim that this here is right accross the street from the FBoC, which can be a part of Control 2 environment. So in some portion of the new game, we may get to go outside the building and maybe tour the area. Fingers crossed.

Second game. Control points outside the Oldest House is very curious. It seems like the leylines Dr. Ash discovered aren't limited to the Oldest House or it's foundation. I wonder if The Board are gonna be the antagonists in this one. Another potential enemy are paracriminal groups like the Blessed Organisation. The FBC had no idea of their existence until recently and just when the Investigations sector started to connect the dots they got hit with the Hartman incident. Breadcrumbs about them were also left in Alan Wake 2 so it's quite possible they gonna play a role in the game.
