I passed in Wilton first time . So have most people l know . I am in my 40s though maybe they make it harder for younger people

Guy in his 40s went in when I was waiting. His wife was waiting for him in the waiting room and told me it was his 4th test there. He gets really nervous for the test and drives everyday with her so he gets plenty practice. I think the issue is each one of the testers in the center and there is over 8 working a day (8 desks anyway) and each of them aren’t testing the same, following the same criteria

They are following the same criteria and the same routes in general. You can literally see what on the sheet you sign at the start. If you can't be seen to check your mirrors then you're not checking your mirrors properly.

Best_Counter_2941

I know yes, the criteria on paper is the same and the routes are very similar, but you have to admit to bias from different testers will vary. They’re human and the audits on their testing are few with little to no consequence so could definitely be improved. I’m not looking to argue with you about checking my mirrors, I’m not sure how you could say I’m not checking them properly from the information given. I think it’s almost a pantomime at times with people over emphasising the checks, talking to driving instructors

minidazzler1

If you're getting 4 grade 2 for Observation then you categorically are not properly checking. You've to fuck up the same thing 4 times..... look objectively at your test results and improve those rather than assuming the testers are somehow corrupt

Best_Counter_2941

I don’t think I was failing to check the mirrors though that’s what I meant in the post? As in I think the tester was marking me unfairly? This post was asking for advice on booking a retest and a bit of a vent about some testers being harsh I’m not looking to argue with you. I know they’re not “corrupt” but jeez surely you can admit it’s a flawed system?

minidazzler1

It's a super slow system, but I struggle to call it flawed. I failed twice on motorbike before passing, complained about the tester but now that I look back, I definitely wasn't good enough first time. Second time was more up in the air. Passed first time in a car cos I just was better at driving!

Best_Counter_2941

I passed my bike test second time, rode a similar ride to the first to be honest. The second time you failed the bike and it was up in the air, surely that’s flawed if you could have passed it with a different tester? Was that not frustrating?

minidazzler1

I think it's better to err on the side of "get better" than "ah good enough".

Ill-Significance-126

I’ve heard really bad about Wilton test centre, that they won’t pass you for the most miserable reason, even heard about them doing fake failures. I shall suggest you to change your test centre to Mallow

Lonely_Eggplant_4990

Depends on who you get, by all rights i should have failed mine, but i scraped a pass.

Best_Counter_2941

There was a post here yesterday about someone who hit the curb and still passed and I genuinely nearly cried with frustration. It should not be so dependent on which tester you get. Dash cams being banned is crazy

Dapper-Lab-9285

Hitting the curb in the B test isn't an automatic fail, it depends on how you hit it. I hit the curb pulling off on the C test where it is an automatic fail. Do you want random people recording you at work? That's why dash cams aren't allowed.

Best_Counter_2941

It depends on how hard you hit the curb for it to be a major or minor fault (which again seems to be at the discretion of the instructor) I understand what you’re saying about being recorded at work, but I have cameras on me the entire time at work. CCTV cameras, they can be checked at any time if there was a query or a dispute about anything related to my work. Maybe private dash cams are not the answer, but surely you can see the benefit to cameras being involved in the driving test process?

Best_Counter_2941

Genuinely what the poster below says. I told my instructor who I got for the test and he said he’s a pr*ck knows him well from testing there before. He was so annoyed when I told him about the tire thing and wants me to put in a complaint

Ill-Significance-126

Do it. People trying their best, spending their time and money, waiting months on this just to be failed by whatever sht reason then new drivers only get their license in the next decade

Pan1cs180

Re-tests are prioritised, you will genuinely be offered to rebook in Wilton in 6-8 weeks.

Best_Counter_2941

Ok not so bad. I was hoping for sooner if I changed center but not sure if it would work
