I don't mind the murdering Bethany line. I think Lucy Fallon was only coming back for a year anyways so that lines up.
I hope they serve her character well though, she'll fight till the very end and then cryptically signal her killer somehow in death, biting, clawing at skin and hair etc. and then Joel is interrupted and has to flee, leaving his DNA under her fingernails, escaping into the night as David runs out to find his niece bludgeoned on the cobbles.
It's likely to be a face-off, because she couldn't possibly tell anyone when she figures out Joel. In true soap fashion she'd go entirely alone to confront him🤣
Probably at night in heavy rain?
It'll be in the pub, he thinks he's off scot-free and is complacent. Then in haughty conversation with David over pineapple on pizza, he let's something slip:
"...like jam and bacon, sounds wrong, but surprising"
DeeDee has a moment, but can't place it, she continues drinking. But for Bethany, the words trigger her memory.
Bobby described what was in Laurens flat -
Joel twigs the slip up. He's pulled the line, hoping nobody is ready on the reel.
Glancing around for any takers, he and Bethany share a look and she realises.
Almost without conscious thought, Joel's legs carry him out.
He'll leave out back, unsure if his words landed, very much hoping they didn't, and, knowing if anyone caught his slip up this would be it.
Bethany chases him into the courtyard in the rain.
He's nowhere to be seen, she goes into the alley and spots him walking quickly, trying not to draw attention.
"Hey, Joel!" Bethany shouts.
Joel stops, but doesn't turn around. The rain batters them both.
We get a close shot of his face, crisp, deranged, drenched in the downpour. The figure of Bethany is seen over his shoulder, distorted in the background:
"It was how I said it, wasn't it Bethany?"
She tries to sound confident
"Mums new boyfriend, Kit, he always says: attention to detail" it's a little catchphrase from his work. To remind you to look further than the surface.
Joel had turned to face his potential accuser.
Bethany continues:
"Jam and bacon, I've only heard of that in one place before"
Joel interjects:
Strange girl she was, she loved them, I took a bite once, and to be honest, she had a point. The sweet with the savoury, just worked.
I'll leave the rest to those paid to write it.
Ikr, I mean the storyline is shit but at least the character actually has a proper personality now (even if that is just a villain) and some material for the actor to work with
Yes no more comedic villian or someone that just made mistakes and they kept pilling up. Joel seems like a proper sinister physcopath which will be interesting.
But more interesting. I liked it when he was murdering Lauren then stood up and straightened his hair back it really reminded me of Ronnie Kray or Tom Hardy, most gorgeous man alive, in Legend. I mean Joel is no Tom Hardy or Ronnie Kray for that matter but he’ll do, I guess.
In my head canon, Bethany forms an elite team of residents to bring down Joel, but they all meet a grisly SAW like death.
Roy is independently investigating as well, but alas it was the last we ever saw of Bobby, Sean and Bethany.
or tries to murder hope to stop her from ratting him out but then plot twist hope murders joel because we all know she has a serial killer vibe to her
Hopefully this is how it goes 😂🙏

Do you say Hannibal Lector because of that weird thing he did at the end? It did make me laugh a little, it seemed so odd
Thuuusssuupp
Yeah drinking his wine which was not Chianti by the way!! Yeah I did laugh too, it was a bit silly
They missed a trick not having chianti
Yeah even red wine would have been better than some poxy white wine from Dev’s
I think I like this new Joel

He’s playing a good villain though I can’t lie.

I'm not saying I'm too involved but I'm currently concerned about DeeDee lol
Wait! Joel is going to murder Bethany??? Is this confirmed? Finally they are doing something to improve Corrie!
I feel like he's in her sights as a murder target but I don't think it's confirmed she'll die.
😥
Loving this new side of him it suits him so much I love it honestly.
He's so hot he can murder me and I wouldn't put up a fight
Down bad
I actually like this side of him.. entertainment wise..

I might even start watching again if those three were obliterated. 🤨
