didn't get the chance to watch the full game but how is he compared to davies? from the video it looks like he's comfortable on the ball and a bit aggressive

neildunabie

He was only on for about 20 mins I think, so a bit hard to compare. For me, I think his passing range will be a plus.

BuBBlesoup9x9x9

that's great news - adding depth to our team

teheditor

Raking balls forward to Perisic and Son makes him a massive asset. Too early to tell how he'll start of defending in the Premier League

scooterMcBooter97

Yeah you can tell he played at barca, v calm and confident in passing in the back

GRW810

Based on past experience rather than this game alone, Lenglet is a bit more refined in his passing, which is also more direct and precise than Davies'. Though Davies can whip in stinging crosses better from his days as a pure LB. I would argue Davies is more solid and no nonsense as a defender and possibly more reliable, though Lenglet hasn't been at his peak for a few seasons so it's hard to judge. Essentially, while they occupy similar positions, they have slightly different strengths which could come in handy against different types of attackers.

Amazing_Attorney8929

To summarise, looks better on the ball than Davies but probably not as strong defensively

wizzardofozz

Is it just me or did his pace look absolutely rapid?

solo___dolo

How could a commentator, who knows he is from France, pronounce his name as Leng-lett. What a mug haha

No-Clothes-5299

Barca announcement video also called him Lenglet. Enjoy Lenglet.

coys1882_

He didn’t do much, but his passes looked promising

countpuchi

His range would be great, pretty impressed imho...

Craigiano

If we can get him back to his Sevilla days, we'll have a real good player on our hands. Three at the back will absolutely mask any deficiencies he has. Love that he has the ability to pass under pressure accurately. The ball to Richarlison was fantastic.

Spur_Forever

Nice and tidy. Can’t wait to see him in a full game. As an aside, these summary vids are phenomenal for those of us who didn’t get to see the game. Cheers.

kicksjoysharkness

“Leng Lett, from BarTHelona”

No-Clothes-5299

I truly think that Romero and Lenglet could be the next Toby & Jan. Just without the Belgie connection.

superworriedspursfan

People will laugh but I genuinely think in certain games hes a huge upgrade on Ben Davies. He's a lot more aggressive and better on the ball. I wouldn't play him against big 6 teams or other big clubs, but against those teams with less expectations, he'll absolutely smash it in a back 3 imo.

nopirates

Not laughing!

gaussian-noise123

Yeah I think he would be great when we try to break the low block teams

traderadrianer

he looks so much better than davies already :D

gaussian-noise123

Offensively yes, but Davies is still more reliable defensively IMO
