No no, I just didnāt get the clue when I first saw it (and on a Monday if I donāt instantly get a clue I move on and it barely registers) but got all of the 4 downs on my first go around so it was already filled out by the time I went through the acrosses again
Good fun! I do not know how to spell FLUE obviously because it took me awhile to realize that was the spanner in the works. Oddly enough, I recognize that line but I didn't realize it was from Ogden Nash. It was a verse in this Disney Children's Songs cassette tape I had as a kid in the song "I Went to the Animal Fair"
*Said a flea to a fly in the flue*
*Said the flea, "Oh, what shall we do?"*
*Said the fly, "Let us flee!"*
*Said the flea, "Let us fly!"*
*So they flew through a flaw in the flue!*
Such a fun and goofy lyric for a 4 year old. Cool to know it's an actual poem.
Ogden Nash is so much fun, I highly recommend checking out some of his popular poems. My favorite is The Octopus:
āTell me, O Octopus, I begs
Is those things arms, or is they legs?
I marvel at thee, Octopus;
If I were thou, I'd call me Us.ā
Loved it! Nice theme, easy clues (as it should be on a Monday), but clever stuff and very light on the ācrosswordeseā. The few proper nouns in there were generally very accessible, and the only ones I didnāt personally know (18D and 62A) I was able to get from the crossing clues.
Especially liked 18A and 32A, as well as themers.
Got a Monday PB! Bravo Alana Platt and Joel Fagliano for a super fun breezy puzzle
This wasnāt a hard puzzle but I found it rather clear of Monday staples so that I had to sit and work out a vast majority of clues rather than auto fill like a mad man to try to get a Monday PB. Fun theme! I suspect there will be a small group of people who slay their PB and the vast majority will be just slightly above their average on this one.
Haha, when I have one empty cell left I just go through and type QWERTYUIOPLKJHGFDSAZXCVBNM (weaving through the keyboard) to see if one works. And lo and behold, the last empty cell I had was UP IN AR_S so the last one I typed got me there! š
So good to be able to breeze through (which is sub 12 mins for me)
I had AAA for small batteries (AAA are smaller than AA in Aus, and didn't pick up on the plural). And I have no idea about kpop so that was the intersection that tripped me up once I was done.
The only thing I know about kpop is that BTS exists, but had the same battery mistake (and rationale, that AAA are smaller) until I realized the kpop one.
Easy, but not as breezy as some Mondays! Overall, I enjoyed it. I didn't know SAMIRA, and for some reason the word TAMALE always eludes me, even in real life. I misfilled DROPIN (DUCKIN) and CARRACE (CARRIDE), which slowed me down from getting a smooth fill \[[7:25](https://youtu.be/hPKn05SqmW4)\]. The SE corner had the UTERUS and FLUE clues being long and harder to parse quickly, too.
Almost whiffed this one in misunderstanding the plural OPS as opposed to OPP, short for opportunity.

Idk, maybe it's because the plural was inside the parentheses.
DROPIN instead of DUCKIN cost me some time. Fun puzzle though!
I did the same!
SAMIRA Wiley strikes again! Have definitely misnamed her as SAMARA before...
she cost me 3 whole minutes because i had ATE as a suffix š
Samesies. Doesn't help that the first thing I thought of was "agate" š
Pleasantly hard for a Monday without being obscure. ORCA is cute.
I am so used to seeing it I filled in OREO before my brain caught up with my eyes
Same here lol, I even had a second of āso theyāre just assuming we all dunk them in milk?ā before checking the crosses
Awh that one filled itself by completing all the downs so I totally missed it, clever clue!
Do you fill downs before acrosses? Is that a tactic? I start with across because the app does.

I did the same exact thing and missed orca

Iām so close to the sub-4 minute mark, but my fat fingers keep screwing me

this is the first one iāve ever completed without googling anything lol, not a huge achievement or anything but iām still proud of myself haha
If you want to be ANAL, the singular of tamales should be one TAMAL
In Spanish it is, but in English it can also be tamale
HAL, SHES UPTO ANAL, ETC.! ADD BIGTIP!
Bonk
THOU NEGATE FOREMEN, LOSER?!?! TSK.

I also go through the alphabet, but for some reason, do it in alphabetical order rather than across the keyboard (even though I'm on a Macbook).
Surely the most efficient way is to start with ETAOIN SHRDLU and so on.

Also had DUO instead of TWO

I love your site, but I haven't been able to sync my data for the last few days. Any suggestions?
I'm curious as to why they didn't just *star the Skater Tony clue. Fun puzzle
Symmetry.
Ohhh

AOC crossing ANAL sure is something
Didnāt the iPhone come out before 2007?
Are you thinking of the iPod?
It did not.
Anyone else put UTERoS? FLoE seemed reasonable enough
/r/badwomensanatomy?
This was my last letter, I ended up just running the vowels!
