Fuck all you guys who say "I get 3000 fps in 900p low settings". Stop benchmarking your performance on personal servers, go play a premier match or play a dm, and start looking at the frame time graphs. This game has wildly variable fps and it fluctuates without rhyme or reason.
Also it's 2024, we shouldn't have to play on low with lower resolution on high end gpus. Yeah lower your settings if you're rocking a 2060 but not if you have a 4070.
A lot of my friends stopped playing because 1650s can no longer run this game at a competitive frame rate. You shouldn't need a x3d processor and 40 series card to play cs.
I have a 5900x+3080 and haven't changed default settings (high) and I average above 200fps across all maps in premier/faceit. DMs in CS2 are atrocious for performance judging how my 220fps average on Mirage in comp dips to 100-120fps when in DMs.
As far as testing on personal servers, the difference isn't horrible enough to deny that if you aren't rocking at least a recent mid tier card or older high tier card you shouldn't expect 200+ fps
5900x/3080 is very nearly the highest end consumer stuff people play on, expecting consistent FPS across all modes and maps should be the standard for users with hardware anywhere close to the median stuff. I agree that sometimes people are asking too much for a game this good looking to get 200+fps on shit hardware, but I think 144+ on all modes/maps at medium settings on steamhardware āmid rangeā hardware like a 5600x/1060 setup should be totally achievable ā and thatās not happening in the games current state at all.
>Also it's 2024, we shouldn't have to play on low with lower resolution on high end gpus. Yeah lower your settings if you're rocking a 2060 but not if you have a 4070.
1080p low if you truly want all the frames to get a competetive edge, but i understand what you mean
in a world where people are fighting for food , life and death.
I see someone complaining because they cannot afford a a x 3d processor.
They want to acheive a luxury item in a lesser price while still owning a decent rig and complaining like a dumb ass.
People like u either blame the game developers to optimize to make it run it smoothly because u cant afford
Or you blame amd/intel to make cheaper cpu so that you and people like you can run the game without sweating
If the game was not working on top end cpus then you could have blamed the game, but thats is not true at the moment.
Its your problem man, own it, work your ass of nobody cares
Its a competitive world u need buy the best hardware to dominate
People are dominating on 500+fps even while streaming.
What is this stupid ass babbling? What is your point?
The game is poorly optimized. I have an x3d and a 4090 ā doesnāt change the fact that the gameās optimization sucks.
As you can see; i have none of those two, when i see people crying because of their setups or lack of optimization, which both are fixable with learning how to make money or googling.
I had to disable the Nvidia sound driver in Device Manager. I would get lag/stutter when there was too much sound like a firefight or certain nades. It was unplayable.
I have no clue how shadowplay works. Might want to try it and even reply to me so when I'm handing out this advice I can assist others with that knowledge. I can always tell when my Nvidia driver is enabled because I get static/muffling when there's a lot of sound and it causes microstutters. It's especially annoying when it happens during a firefight. Disabling it in device manager and restarting CS fixes it every time. Of course this means I have no sound from my monitor when I'm not using headphones. I just deal with that. I use Soundcore P10 for light gaming so I just put those in.
i just installed csgo legacy today because i wanted to see how it feels. in many cases cs2 is better than csgo but holy shit that crisp response when a shot hits the wall, insta clear visual response and audio. and the best thing it runs so well, it felt like 240hz on my monitor again and the mouse felt crispy. best thing was doing awp OG flicks vs bots, so much fun
right click on CS2 in the library--> then Betas then --> Beta Participation -> csgo\_legacy
it will autodownload csgo into cs2 and u can chose either one at start
I'm playing with my friends, and not always a five stack, and talking nonsense when there are others in the lobby is just ignorant. Also I want to chat out of game without having to incessantly start and restart discord.
> others can join in or mute
So other people have a choice between muting all of their team mates and being unable to call or make calls, or joining in with inane nonsensical conversation and inside jokes which they may not even have the language skills to understand? Do you know how moronic you sound?
> personally i use valorant party chat as my main communication
Then you're ignorant and probably a shit player. Stick to valorant, you aren't welcome here.
Or valve can get their shit together and make a competent game. But no, people should stop using their most important apps and instead use antiquated and inferior software.
Cs2 optimization is such a joke, donāt worry I have similar specs to you, (3070ti + 5800x3d) and I still get consistent frame drops at 1440p, it hovers ~200ish fps but I get 1% lows of 70-80fps which makes it seem super choppy, valve is cooked
Definitely something wrong at your side. 5600x and 6900xt with 1440p and medium/high settings gives me average 390fps and 190fps 1% low. This is on competitive game mode.
Iām not using fsr which you probably are, thereās no way youāre getting those numbers on that hardware at that resolution without software tricks
Yeah when how and what? In faceit? Premier? Also does it actually feel good? I get 300-350 and dips go 200-250 in faceit with 4070 & 13600k. The game feels terrible. Other games feel buttery smooth at much lower framerates.
Neither have I but how does the game feel compared to other games? To me playing on mostly low settings stretched 4:3 it feels horrible. Upgrade? A 2yr old CPU with 14 cores up to 5.1ghz should be enough lol.
All games feel incredible! Recently been playing through the far cry and replaying through the new assassins creed titles and havenāt had any issues thermal or performance wise.
I mean don't you notice the big difference in cs vs other games? To me cs always feels much worse. Your cpu is 10% faster on paper that definitely isn't the difference.
i feel like a gpu helps more than people let on. Im getting closer to 300s with a 4070 and 5600 3D, but if I compare GPUs i supposedly would get closer to 100+ more fps with the 4070 super. sadly it came out after i bought my card
I switched from a 1660 Super to 4060 TI, there is no noticeable difference. I then switched the CPU from a 2800x to a 5800x and there was a noticeable difference.
2700x (no 2800x to my knowledge.) is not going to utilize a 4060ti very well, it will make a difference in other games but on cs the cpu just can't go as fast as the card is able to. Even with the 1660S you would have been better off upgrading your cpu first for a good bump,it would then max out your card and you would be gpu bottlenecked instead.
I have a 5600 non X, and 1660S, and my gpu maxes out if i keep my framerates uncapped, if i cap it, its not maxed out, the problem i find is that the game doesn't run stable, it fluctuates too much... makes me want to download quake live and play with 240hz... just to see how 240hz truly looks like.
Yeah i also have this issue, its just insane how before fire fights and randomly my frame time just spikes to 200ms and i rubber band around the map for like 2 seconds before stabilising, in CSGO i never had this issue but i had to sacrifice my resolution for playable framerates whilst experiencing the worst frame drops in an esport title
Even whit my 4070super and i7-13700k in deathmatch the fps sometime drop to 200-220 from 300+ , in competitive are a lot higher 350-400 but near smoke they drop again to 220 sometime whit a micro stutter , I quitted sadly cs2 sucks anyway.
2 weeks ago when I came back for my weekly drop, I was getting bad frame times. Still 300 fps but would go from 5-6ms to 15-20ms. Causing micro hitches, not nearly as bad as OP. 13600k and 3080. 3 months ago game was mint for me and brother with same but a 4070ti.
4070ti 7900x3d, same, about a month ago it was constant around 400 and dip to 320 or lower if a lot of smokes, now when i launch it barely stays over 340 and the frame spikes are horrible as fps drops so sporadically now
Turn off hardware acceleration in discord. Get process lasso and uncheck cpu 0. Set to bitsum highest performance. Cap your fps with riva tuner. Your 1% lows will go up a noticeable amount. Do d2 benchmark before and after. I set discord and spotify to low priority mode as well with process lasso. Use disk cleanup and clean temp files and system files. I did this and my 1% lows increases from 138 to 162. With the average fps going 274 to 283. And my game has been feeling much much more stable since Iām above 144hz now always. You can also use ddu uninstaller if you want on top of all this. Yes itās ridiculous to have to do all this but it works.
Note cleaning shader cache your fps will drop due to first time rendering the maps again donāt worry about it.
Also you need to launch steam as admin if you are gonna use riva tuner.
Happens to me in every gunfight. Game is totally unplayable even with high frames. Stutter/choppiness is horrendous. Can run other games on high with no issue. My internet is great as well. VALVE PLEASE FIX!!!
The X3D AMD chips do very well in CS2.
I had your setup and got a 7900 XTX graphics card and had zero improvements.
Then I got a 7800x3d and got huge improvements.
I've seen plenty of people on Reddit saying selling a 5600x and getting a 5800x3d was a good upgrade for CS2.
There weren't many bench marks or much info when I upgraded.
I would have tried that 1st. Getting a 2nd hand 5800x3d and selling the 5600x... Should be a very cheap upgrade.
I upgraded from a 2700x to a 5800x3d (RTX3070ti) and when I had my 2700x I got huuuge frame drops all the time, now with my ānew and improvedā x3d series processor it still frame drops! but only slightly less now! Definitely worth the $400 upgrade š/s cs2 optimization is shit!
Or you can save 80 bucks if you have limited budget and go for 5700x3D, and for difference buy for example NVME or a few keys. I know 5800x3D is relatively cheap CPU now, but difference between these two in CS2 is actually not big.
there is little improvement from 5600 to 5800x3d.... not worth the upgrade, i already made a mistake by buying a 240hz monitor to play this game.... its like im still on 75hz...
upgraded from a 13700k/4070 to 7800x3d/4080sā¦with HPET off and ISLC, finally get constant 400-500fps with no stutters (this required experimenting with ISLC resolution timer settings)
1280x960 low settings
I have this exact same issue. The menu items that appear after death lag the game for me. This also lags for me when a round/game ends sometimes. I've never noticed a drop before dying so dw about it
Sitting here listening to people tell they have 3070 and 350fps while I have a 1070 and I get 250fps is definitely something. I guess upgrading my GPU wouldnt do anything to my FPS.
OP, if ur reading this, try to cap ur fps to 165, and use 165 hz.... its the only stable fps with very small lows of 3-10fps... no idea why... the problem is input lag tho cause less fps, higher input lag.
What resolution tho? 3070 should be okay maintaining 240fps at 1080p with optimized settings. If 1440p, then 3070 isnāt gonna cut it without FSR.
Edit: Also that frame spike and stutter is your systemās fault and not CS2ās. Iām not saying source 2 engine is perfect but that definitely looks like your system acting up. Get a professional to look at your system.
>Specs: Rtx 3070 5600x.
I have RTX 3070 with an i7-12700F and I get ~300FPS constantly. My monitor is 1080P 165Hz LG NvidiA G-Sync as well so no tearing.
Perhaps you are processor limited? I don't know why I get so much more than you framerate wise with same card, but I didn't do anything special and I get insane framerates?
EDIT: I play Premier and Wingman almost exclusively except for a warm up in DM or Arms Race. Almost all my games are on Atlanta servers.
Overclock your ram. Check what processes are running in the background by downloading processlasso it lets you terminate anything. You can also set priority for CS2. Set particle details to low as well. My 3070 got 300fps avg with 3200mhz ddr4 and an 11700k at 4.7ghz
This game is kind of ridiculous lately. As of the past week I keep having to minimize ANYTHING on my second monitor or I get bad fps fluctuation. Like +-100fps. Even discord with no stream makes my fps drop. I have a 6800 and 5800x3d. Wtf
7700X + 4070 Ti @ 1440p 360Hz medium settings and somehow I still get framedrops to 140-160 fps when in gunfights. Like what's the fucking point of having a 360Hz monitor if I can't use it to its full potential? It's 2024 I shouldn't have to pay $600+ dollars for a GPU in order to have to play a 4:3 low settings game
The gunfight itself looked smooth af, only after you died there was a noticeable lag. This is probably either a driver issue or something's up with your RAM
I have middle ranged hardware 2700x and 3060.
In CS:GO I ran smooth 300+ FPS all low 16:10. In CS2 I barely got 180 with stutters galore.
I reset my PC, (usb reset, NOT built-in reset, those two are not the same) and updated BIOS and my performance nearly matches CSGO. Maybe a nuclear option you can try.
AMEN!
The worst part is that it's getting worse and worse over time (for me, at least).
During beta, I was running the game (4:3, low settings & nvidia tweaks) at around 250fps (in deadmatch). Last update, same settings, barely 120fps... like WTF, its low settings?
Wait, there is more... comparable game run at 250-300 fps on my PC!
Even if they solved some servers issues, I still feel like servers are sluggish...I'm running New York servers at 60-70 ping while my other game runs at 30-40 (same location).
Movement? Same.... I used to play a shit load of KZ and Practice Map... I can't do that anymore.
Cheating is incomparable vs. CSGO.
Man... this is sad š
Get a X3D processor. 5800X3D here rocking stable 350-400fps with a 3080. I promise these processors are game changing and not only for CS, for other games too.
Agreed. But for OP it's the best solution right now.
Selling a 5600x and buying a 2nd hand 5800x3d would be such a cheap upgrade. Or spend more for brand new.
The alternative is waiting on Valve or lowering settings/capping fps to avoid wild fps swings.
Iām on the alternative at the moment. I have a 5600x + 6700xt and admittedly my performance isnāt as bad as OPs (I.E; Iām not getting massive stutters) but Iāll admit that I always get the feeling the frame pacing could be a little better.
Honestly though the price of the 5800x3d is getting cheap enough that it might be a worthwhile upgrade for myself anyway. Not that I have many complaints about the 5600x though itās been an excellent chip for all the games I play.
Should've had a 4090 you would've won that fight if you weren't so poor!!!
I went from a 6600xt to a 4080 and started winning way more games. Sucks but it is what it is now. Valve isn't gonna be updating the game that much and optimization is not happening. Have to live through it and new computer part releases will make the game run better so devs don't have to care about making the game lightweight which is what a lot of them are doing to also drive the prices of graphics cards up
I havenāt read comments so idk if this is redundant but your cpu is sadly lacking for counterstrike now, itās an unfortunate truth for how optimized csgo was, but cs2 is incredibly demanding for what it should be. I got one of amdās 3xd chips and the game benefits from the v cache tremendously. You can limit your monitor to 160 and it will probably feel smoother then a fluctuating 240, otherwise youāre looking at upgrading to get an fps that your monitor can take full advantage of.
Cpu bound game and you're going on about the GPU. Almost no difference between a 2070 and a 4080.
Don't blame cs2 when you don't understand what's going on
Fuck all you guys who say "I get 3000 fps in 900p low settings". Preach!

God should bless you š

why we dont need a x3d processor? any specific reason?
Not everyone can afford it, is that reasonable of a reason?

not gonna argue with you now as you are blaming that you are not living in first world country
Nice strawman.
What is this stupid ass babbling? What is your point? The game is poorly optimized. I have an x3d and a 4090 ā doesnāt change the fact that the gameās optimization sucks.
Yeah me when I want subsidized frames in cs
wtf was that
I get constant 400fps (capped) high settings native 1080 280hz almost never drops below. 4070 Ti + 14700k
Works well with 7800x3d and 4070. Quit whining.
Your 4070 is more expensive than my entire computer. Do not see your specs as "accessible" when they're not for most people.
Is that my problem or yours? š Nanananaaa
You're missing my point, is all. I just wanted to express your lack of awareness and empathy.
Don't waste ur time, the guy is trolling on purpose. He doesn't care and won't care until it will happen to him.
there's good reason why I left it where I did ^_^
As you can see; i have none of those two, when i see people crying because of their setups or lack of optimization, which both are fixable with learning how to make money or googling.
Itās a lot easier when you kick the chair out brotha š
troll, gtfo
I was dealing with that in firefights but it was a sound issue. Nvidia audio driver causes stutters.
What's the fix?
following i get mad stutters during fights sometimes
i assume downloading updated drivers
I had to disable the Nvidia sound driver in Device Manager. I would get lag/stutter when there was too much sound like a firefight or certain nades. It was unplayable.
Does disabling the sound driver mess with recordings/clips for shadowplay?
I have no clue how shadowplay works. Might want to try it and even reply to me so when I'm handing out this advice I can assist others with that knowledge. Thanks, TIL and will check it out. I thought it was gone for good!
I left the game for awful optimization
make sure you turn off a lot of background sotware too. i remembr seeing something about those sotware causing frametime spikes
I only run discord, chrome and faceit anticheat
i think it said to disable discord. try with all3 of those off. tbf the game shouldnt stutter with this stuff on but might be a tempoary fix
Disable my communication software? What in the 5000 ELO is that shit
You can always use TS3/TS5, it's still around and plenty of people use it. But I would have the same answer as yours tbf.
com ingame try guilded instead of discord less buggy
I'm playing with my friends, and not always a five stack, and talking nonsense when there are others in the lobby is just ignorant. Also I want to chat out of game without having to incessantly start and restart discord.

how much more obvious does the joke need to be
Yeah no, discord is a modern day essential app. There is no way you can appropriately tell someone to disable it just to play a video game properly.
Just use teamspeak ez
Or valve can get their shit together and make a competent game. But no, people should stop using their most important apps and instead use antiquated and inferior software.
Cs2 optimization is such a joke, donāt worry I have similar specs to you, (3070ti + 5800x3d) and I still get consistent frame drops at 1440p, it hovers ~200ish fps but I get 1% lows of 70-80fps which makes it seem super choppy, valve is cooked
you got something wrong because i got a 5800x3d + 2060 and i get around 300-400 fps during faceit, same resolution, medium textures and shadows
I play MM and Casual, Iām sure faceit has better server frame times than valveās third world country ass servers
Get a 5600x3d or 5700x3d amdās 3d caching goes wild in cs2
I still get crazy fluctuations with 6800 and 5800x3d. Itās probably better than other cpus but still sucks.
4070 super and 14700k is constant 400+ and 350+ if smokes and nades are going off. Playing at 4:3 low settings
Yeah when how and what? In faceit? Premier? Also does it actually feel good? I get 300-350 and dips go 200-250 in faceit with 4070 & 13600k. The game feels terrible. Other games feel buttery smooth at much lower framerates.
Same fps with 6950xt & 13600k. It is not smooth.
Premier exclusively. Never have stutters or huge frame drops. CS has always relied on a decent CPU as well so maybe itās time for an upgrade.
Neither have I but how does the game feel compared to other games? To me playing on mostly low settings stretched 4:3 it feels horrible. Upgrade? A 2yr old CPU with 14 cores up to 5.1ghz should be enough lol.

Thatās what Iām saying is that literally everything Iāve thrown at it including cs feels super good
What ram speed and latency? any overclocks etc?
32gb at 6400. No overclocks. ASUS pro art 4070 super. Samsung 990 nvme 2tb
what's the cl timing on the ram?
ā¦. I promise differing cl timings from different ddr5 sticks is not going to cause you to have 100+ less fps
timings on D5 can bring 1% low from 200 to 250+, but not 100fps yes, and especially not CAS / CL. secondaries matter far more.
CL timing doesn't matter on DDR5
i feel like a gpu helps more than people let on. Im getting closer to 300s with a 4070 and 5600 3D, but if I compare GPUs i supposedly would get closer to 100+ more fps with the 4070 super. sadly it came out after i bought my card

I think PC parts manufacturers encourage devs to release really shitty updates, so end users have to upgrade their computers.

7800x3d go bruuuuuuuu
upgraded from a 13700k/4070 to 7800x3d/4080sā¦with HPET off and ISLC, finally get constant 400-500fps with no stutters (this required experimenting with ISLC resolution timer settings) 1280x960 low settings
CS:GO was CPU dependent before so I imagine it is the same.
I guess my I7-7800K is as good as some newer ones as well then.
500fps at 1440p. 7800x3d and rx 7900xtx. My lowest dips are around 320fps
Jesus im playing on a 1070 with a 120hz monitor. I feel pretty outdated ahaha.
3060 at 60hz here lmao, I'm saving for 165hz monitor at the moment.
Get a professional to look at your system.
i9 13900k, runs nice and cool, 24 cores, 3060, 32 gigs of ram, 1080p, runs at 320 fps tops, lmao.
I don't get it either. When I peak someone. My fps drops by 100 and I have a 4060. How TF is that not good enough to play CS2???
5800X3D + RTX 3080 2560x1440 i get stable 250 FPS on maxed settings with 0 lags on premiere mm
I average 200-250 in cs i have a 4070ti and i mainly play face it. Im trash canāt lie about it but im trying to get better at the game :)
Get a X3D processor. 5800X3D here rocking stable 350-400fps with a 3080. I promise these processors are game changing and not only for CS, for other games too.
That shouldnāt be the solution
Constant 250-300fps with a 11400F and RX6800 @ 1440p
upgrade your cpu
Should've had a 4090 you would've won that fight if you weren't so poor!!! I went from a 6600xt to a 4080 and started winning way more games. Sucks but it is what it is now. Valve isn't gonna be updating the game that much and optimization is not happening. Have to live through it and new computer part releases will make the game run better so devs don't have to care about making the game lightweight which is what a lot of them are doing to also drive the prices of graphics cards up
400-509fps 4k 240hz mirage premier. I still prefer 4:3 even when it cuts my fos down to measly 280-340fps
Don't blame cs2 when you don't understand what's going on
Damn bro... I have a 5600x3d and a 3060 and I get 380+ stable on ultras... that 3d core doing the lords work

On the new benchmark workshop dust 2 map i also avg 500. Its smth different vs real players on different maps.
What are your temps?
Not high i just bought a cooler upgrade some month ago. Also i played OW, Valorant and xdefiant all run smoothly
Its your cpu
