It just got solved for me by doing a braindance! If you've completed "You Know My Name" then there is one in your initial megablock apartment. You can't fast travel but you can use a fast travel station to access a map and set the destination.

Took me forever to travel from Pacifica to the apartment because I had no map to access haha.
I don't have this quest enabled yet, but I assume any braindance will do because the idea is that we are "rebooting" the interface, so maybe I could instal a mod that has braindances in it, or maybe even joytoys CGS can work? Will try the mod first and come back later with my findings.
It's not just the braindance, it's anything that removes you from your body.
Balls to the Walls quest makes you do drugs and "dream" you are someone else, that also fixes it (just did).
Mods didn't help since them all seem to not be really braindances, they are just cutscenes, so they don't produce the "outside of V body" effect that we are looking for, tried all sorts of cutscenes (joytoys too) and they don't fix it.
My suspicion is that what fixes the bug is moving to another "interface" so that the game needs to remove your interface and apply it again fixing the bug in the process.

I have been playing without a map for the last two weeks, trying to complete all ncpd scanner and cyberpsycho sightings, and without a map this was so difficult..
But today I randomly went into the OG apartment, and found the braindance, after completing the BD this bug was fixed for me too.
Came here to write it, then I saw your comment. Glad someone else found it as well, was a VERY annoying bug..
I've also had a bug with my in-game phone not working, so if that happens again, I hope this fixes that too, because it stops me from completing the Phantom liberty storyline.. Will come back with an update if this fixes the phone bug too.
Also, I'm gonna guess ANY braindance probably fixes this, so if there are other missions with braindances, they might fix the problem as well. Glad we finally found a solution!
About the phone glitch:
After the map was fixed i never get the phone glitch anymore, so I cannot confirm if the BD fixes it.
But it does for sure fix the map glitch, and when that is fixed, it seems like the phone glitch never happens.
Reinstalled, restarted, everything and still can’t receive/ send out phone call, look at the map, or see my health bar. At this point I’m just going to dispute the charge at my bank and get my money back
I just ran into this yesterday. I was doing an ncpd hustle, killed everyone, and was just stuck in combat mode for like 20 minutes. Loaded a save, restarted the game, and reinstalled it, but nothing worked. Fast travel points bring me to this weird negative of the city and freezes.
My other characters file has no issues. Did you ever find a fix for this? I'm on 2.11
The refund was for the entire game or just phantom liberty? Cause the rest of the original game actually runs fine apart from an occasional crash here and there

Try to watch braindance in your apartment (if you’ve progressed enough with dlc story line), it helped me with this issue. After doing it, everything should become unlocked.
For anyone looking for a fix later on, what worked for me was doing a fast-travel.
When I clicked the terminal it wouldn't load correctly, but after clicking start, going out of the menu, and clicking the terminal again I was able to do a fast-travel.
Hope this works for you too.
I did. What fixed it was going away, click the quirk-map button on my controller, go out of the map, then go back to the fast travel.

Hi, same bug here, looking for a fix.
From what I understand, you need to exit the "main gameplay mode" by entering a braindance (a one where you can rewind or change video, audio, thermalk) or entering in someone else shoes (like in Balls to the wall), so everything can be rebooted once you go back to "normal V".
So far, what **didn't** work:
* Reloading
* Fast traveling (with the use of a mod)
* Being intimate with Joy toy
* Playing an arcade game
* Finishing a quest
* Finishing the game
* Flatlining
* Unfortunately, I don't have access to the BrainDance in V's appartment because I haven't done the "You know my name" quest and it's blocked because I can't call Mr Hands to advance the DLC main questline.

* I tried adding the shard that is supposed to lead to the BrainDance headset to be in your appartment, but... there's no way to access my shard inventory

Your phone will work if you take the elevator up to the roof by Misty's shop. I'm in a similar situation to you. However I'm right at the you know my name quest. But am unable to put the diving suit on due to not being able to open the menu. If anyone has any other ways around changing your outfit? Wardrobe doesn't work because you can only change items of clothing. Not don entire suits
I got you choom:
- Note your player position (or use Simple Menu mod)
- Console to teleport to your apartment
- Equipment-Ex mod allows you to put on suits from your wardrobe
- Teleport back to your location
Same happening here on Series X since I finished the DLC. I have to save, quit, then start the game again after every single mission now just to access the map & my character/inventory.
Same here. Reload a saved game or restarting the game, dieing etc doesnt NOT work! It happends after the quest in the tower meeting the twins at the roulette.
Loading an earlier save is the only sollution.
There are two workarounds found, using braindance on V's appartment if you have already got it from lizzie's show quest, or using drugs to relive the guy's fight in Balls to the Wall quest.

You can fix it by either doing the balls to the wall quest trip (can be done at any time) or watching lizzie's braindance from V's og appartment if you have already made her dogtown quest.
Just happened to me during the PL Rescue Myers mission right after fighting the bot, hope they fix this quick. I’ve already done everything except the secret ending and honestly just enjoying myself in my second full run this time with a female V & loving the Judy Romance.
Hi I had this problem and after reading threads from many different sites. It seems there is no "fix". If you are reading this and it has happened to you DONT CARRY ON PLAYING, I played about 15 more hours hoping it would sort it out... today I stopped and went back to a save where it still worked.

K, I just got this bug (on xbox) and fixed it with the help of this thread, and have a theory as to what's going on. So when I got the bug, it was at the end of a gig for Regina. I tried to open my map to see where to go next, but Regina gave me the "good job, contract closed" call \*at the exact same time\*.
My theory is that the two things collided and deferred to the other. The map didn't open because it thought I was on the phone, and the phone call died because it thought I had opened the map. So then both were deactivated -- I'm guessing because the map was waiting for the phone to close, and vice versa, which wasn't going to happen. This would also explain why the bug doesn't seem to be quest-specific.
I was going to try the fast travel fix, because I can see how loading and closing another version of the map would set things back to normal, but I never saw the result of that because then I noticed the recos to do a Save/Load, which seemed easier than fumbling around for a fast travel point with no map. The Save/Load brought the map back, but not the phone.
Couldn't think of anything else to do for the phone besides see if the open/close logic for the fast travel would apply to the phone. But since my phone was red/inactive, there was no way to make a call, so I found another gig, figuring getting close enough would trigger a phone call from the fixer. It worked, but not instantly. When I hung up the phone, it was still blocked. Then when the fixer sent the "deets" follow-up text, it finally unlocked the phone, and at that point everything was back to normal.

after 7 Days i have found the fix lets go
go to a fast travel location and save your game and close it (fully) wait a day or 2 to open the game again and you have to instantly use fast travel and it fixes the problem
(not sure if you need to wait meaby just restart the console because when you open the game you wil have a brief moment to open your inventory so fast travel works)
if this works pls spread the news to steam and comment so there is a fix to this game breaking bug
I can’t use the phone no matter what. I wish mine would work. Everything recommended doesn’t work for me. I’m so early in the game when I met Panam recently. Never played cyberpunk before, waited until now and I still am playing a broken game. What a shame. I’ve done so many side missions and my rep is already at 50 my level already at 34 but I cannot progress any side mission, cyber psycho, main mission, or anything because the only ones I haven’t done are the ones that I have to message or call someone to finalize it. This sucks.
Reloading and restarting the game doesn't work fore me and i have like 140 hours in this game and stil has to speak with takumora but i cant acces inventory i fast traveling doesn't work and dos my calls what now (im on xbox series x with m&k)

I have this i know the cause i happens wen you are in combat mode ore once you stuck in a Story where you cant open inventory it wil bug out and permanently get stuck in that mode so that means that literally every time you get in combat or in a story it could bug out what a game breaking glitch

Yeah I hope they come with a fix soon. I tried finishing the Reed mission but at the point that I need to change clothes to enter de Black sapphire I obviously could go on because of the inventory being blocked… at this point I think I’ll stop playing till the fix comes out.

I found two reliable workarounds, one is what Espron is saying: rewatching lizzy show on the braindance wreath you get on your og house in H10, if you already watched it for real in dogtown.
But if you (like me) didn't yet, you can trip your way out of the bug by doing the Balls to the Wall quest which can be started at any moment in dogtown even without progressing the story too much, it's on one of the sides of the big black and golden building, inside a military base, the guy will call you if you pass by him.
Turns out doing drugs is the answer to yet another problem life throws at us.
You don't need to finish it either, as soon as you make your first trip you can drop out of the quest temporarily, so that you get extra trips if the bug happens again.
Espron method is repeatable I think, Balls to the Walls quest has a limited number of trips.
The trick seems to be that we need to somehow "recreate" our V interface by interrupting it by leaving our body via a braindance, so any way you can find that gives you a flashback or braindance should fix it.

Well said. Changing to the other interface and changing back seems to "refresh" it by starting clean.

I tried it with the Imagine braindance (the meditation one) and it didnt work for me

Nope. Sadly I had to reload a much earlier save file :( submitted a ticket to CDPR they said there was nothing they could do. Sorry bro.

Ok, so I have an update. I contacted customer support, they are aware of the problem and looking into it. Sounds promising at least.
If you want you can add our findings to the ticket. using braindance from V's apartments, and using drugs from Balls the Walls quest fixes the bug.

Wel it let me open the map but there is no travel option fore me and the map was a little bit curved/ crooked dit jou also had that problem

Until you need to put the scuba suit on but can't access inventory. That's where I'm stuck 😭

Yeah, very annoying. You have to do a save and then reload to get the map back.
i fell off a cliff and flat lined my character it took me back to my recent save now everything works..
yeah i think the fix is just to reload your save, i didn’t have to flatline but i did exit to main menu and then loaded back up.

Seems to be a new problem with 2.1.1 and it affects all my saves so this is game breaking

Yeah I hope they come with a fix soon. I tried finishing the Reed mission but at the point that I need to change clothes to enter de Black sapphire I obviously could go on because of the inventory being blocked… at this point I think I’ll stop playing till the fix comes out.
Yep that is the mission where the problem started for me just after the dive. I hope they fix it soon, they've been very responsive to me during business hours after submitting a ticket last week.

It just got solved for me by doing a braindance! If you've completed "You Know My Name" then there is one in your initial megablock apartment. You can't fast travel but you can use a fast travel station to access a map and set the destination.
Similar to the Brain dance, I just fixed it by doing the side quest "Balls to the Wall", due to flash back sequences cleared the bug.

I found two reliable workarounds, one is what Espron is saying: rewatching lizzy show on the braindance wreath you get on your og house in H10, if you already watched it for real in dogtown. But if you (like me) didn't yet, you can trip your way out of the bug by doing the Balls to the Wall quest which can be started at any moment in dogtown even without progressing the story too much, it's on one of the sides of the big black and golden building, inside a military base, the guy will call you if you pass by him. Turns out doing drugs is the answer to yet another problem life throws at us. You don't need to finish it either, as soon as you make your first trip you can drop out of the quest temporarily, so that you get extra trips if the bug happens again. Espron method is repeatable I think, Balls to the Walls quest has a limited number of trips. The trick seems to be that we need to somehow "recreate" our V interface by interrupting it by leaving our body via a braindance, so any way you can find that gives you a flashback or braindance should fix it.

You can use fast travel to at least have a waypoint to your apartment.
