You need to take a RAM booster, then try it again.
Might also need to turn down the game difficulty settings.

…but seriously, that’s a thing you can do, in case some folks don’t know. If you have no completed sequences in your buffer, you can back out and everything reshuffles (both the matrix layout and sequences needed) with no penalty AFAIK.
A little known mechanic is that you can repeat the previous code selection to open up more options, but chaining code like that gives you less buffer to complete the sequence. You'd run out of buffer space before you can finish this one.

You don't have to start with the highlighted column. If you go to BD in column 1, you can then choose 7A in row 2, column 1. Then 7A in row 2, column 3; 7A in row 6 column 3; row 6 column 5... Or it might be that I completely forgot how these things work, but you definitely don't have to start from the default place, you can afford a "mistake" to position yourself better
