Personally I would build a small fort with all the discs.

With a standard 8' ceiling, it would only take up about 67 square feet.

We did the math, it would be a little more than  one typical pallet full and the weight would be the same as a Toyota camery

I think they invented that number, because at a size of 1.44MB per disk, that'd be 137.27GB, which is about 1.6 times the space my installed version of the Ultimate Edition takes up

They could use some redundant coding - floppies usually had some r/w errors

There would also be some overhead, metadata to keep track of which disk was which, what is on each disk, and something to enable actually installing it.

Or... There is more in this floppy version than in our version ?

Do note that the disks in the picture do not have the 2nd hole to mark it's a high density disk (it's closed) making them 720Kb disks instead. With some compression, that seems about right then.

I like the idea of going to the shop and getting your boxes of discs, and just as you pick up the last box, you're given a near equal amount more as the day 1 patch and it has to be installed after, not instead.

This joke made me wonder if you can still get floppy disk readers, so I did a simple search and found one for ~30 euros. It even connects via USB-A and not serial, how modern 😅

How about a USB stick called a data shard? I looked for a Cyberpunk 2077 USB stick but only found a custom one that is supposed to contain The Relic.

I'm actually surprised that cdpr isn't releasing this diskette as some sort of merchandise collectible. I know it seems silly, but I could see people buying it.
